Quick update: development build R9 is now available. It includes some new recovery code that takes effect from this version forward. This should prevent blocks being stripped of all attributes in avoidable scenarios, like if mod block Id's change (transferring worlds), a mod is removed, etc.
If all goes well and no bugs are reported I will release as a stable build.
Isn't there some Minecraft loving millionaire out there who can hire expert modders and coders and actually pay them to re-write all the major mods for 1.8 and maybe 1.9! Ahh only if I won a lottery one of these days..
It would be amazing if you could find a way to make this happen. When you brought this mod into existence, it filled the gap that had been there since Kaevator's slopes disappeared.
They say that the adaption to 1.9.x has less recoding than to 1.8.x hence "it is easier". Can you confirm that ?
Going from 1.8 to 1.9 is less recoding than 1.7.10, but 1.7.10 to 1.9 is just about as much, since they didn't "undo" any of the changes they made in 1.8 that required so much work.
I don't know exactly how it works, but there is this mod for all your slope needs and more.
Could it be possible to update this mod to 1.8.9? Decocraft has updated to 1.8.9 and I would love to use this mod in combination with Decocraft.
Take the time to read a few pages back... nay, even a few posts back. Don't be lazy.

I've been working on a 1.9 branch in my spare time, but I've barely tackled the changes in only the BlockCoverable class. If I make substantial progress, you'll see it here first.
Hello! On a server I assist with we use Carpenters block and we previously had it working with R8 but recently the Carpenters hammer doesn't function properly, It just rotates slopes. We tried updating it to R9 but that was causing issues. Is there anything that could prevent the mod from working?

Is there any chance you could push your progress on 1.8/1.9 to github? I'd love to assist in the effort but it's difficult without knowing what progress has been made.
you need to make one.
Windows+R > %appdata% > .minecraft > Click a blank space in .minecraft and press new and click folder. (call the folder "mods" all lowercase)

While I know your site says you don't plan on updating to 1.8, is it safe to assume you mean updating past 1.7.10?
Pretty much. Though it's gotten a little easier to make the transition since then, it's mainly lack of time.
Are you still open to the possibility of updating to a newer version though or dead set at where it is right now?
Whether by me or the efforts of others, I do want the mod to move forward.

The Dropbox link for the current release is down on your website.
Go ahead and grab it from CurseForge, it's generating too much traffic in Dropbox. I'll look into adding the widget in op.
EDIT: File host changed, let me know if you experience any issues.

When rotation code was implemented I decided to just make it rotate slopes left/right. The code that changed slope types was rather messy.

Once I get all the compile errors out of the way I will push up a new branch.
Alright, I'll check back in a month then
I really enjoyed your mod I featured it recently on my minecraft mods weekly video, here's a link if you'd like to check it out.
perfect as it is but can't wait to hear more from this mod, like furniture maybe?
