Hello Mineshopper.
My game seems to crash as soon as my character steps on a carpenter's block. D:
It has something to do with Presence Footsteps. I haven't posted the error on that mod thread yet, the author seems to be on a break. Do you think it's fixable on this end?
Apparently it does or COFH would not have dumped Chicken's Multi-part covers for their own implementation in Thermal Dynamics.
Point. But those really aren't a full microblock implementation, just covers/facades. And apparently it was because they decided Forge Multipart was too difficult to work with.

Hi! I LOVE your mod! I've been working on an adventure course for a veeery long time and this mod has taken things to the next level! I was wondering if 1.8 and beyond will ever be possible, if you'd take payments I hope that doesn't sound silly but I'm seriously willing to pay to see it come to light!
Either way, I really appreciate the work on this mod because I think it is one of the most versatile mods out there, it seriously offers so much.
No time to port it myself currently, and because of the amount of changes in 1.8 it is going to require a lot of time and patience to get it working with the new rendering and state system. Some people have expressed interest in porting the mod, so it's certainly not over.
may i suggest that you put a part on the main post saying that you are looking for someone to port it over to 1.8 i'm sure there are people who can but just don't know you need it

I think I may found a glitch. Garage doors wont work when the sides are facing East to West(front of the door is North to South) when powered by daylight sensors. However the work fine when the sides are facing North to South and being powered by daylight sensors. Not sure if its just me or maybe one of my other mods. I'm using the most updated version of this mod.
hi mate, been using this great mod for ages now and its been a really helpful addition. i do have one request though, could you make it so that the gate connects to "walls" and nether brick fences? thanks
Vanilla vines are strictly vertical. If you want vines to be able to cover a horizontal surface with vines, that implementation would have to be modified. It's not just a question of allowing them to render horizontally; you may need them to render horizontally and vertically in the same block, either on all or only some eligible faces of a block. You may have situations where you want the vine to render only on a horizontal face where a vertical face is also possible, or vice versa.
Ah, that makes sense. Altho, if you put vanilla vines in a ceiling/wall corner they will place horizontal vines on the ceiling where they meet. So it should be doable, I would think.

More than likely a rendering trick since the entire block is a vine... it won't actually attach to a ceiling (afaik).

Maybe, but the most difficult part of Minecraft modding around here is editing the original post -- honestly. It seems like most people that are interested know how to contact me about it.

I haven't had a chance to test this yet.. you absolutely certain they're misbehaving? Even with just Forge + this mod? If so I can look into it when I have time.

Gates and walls of this mod won't connect to vanilla posts/walls/gates. You would have to alter vanilla code to accomplish this.
The only I play Carpenter's blocks is in Tekkit. But a quick cow pen underground using them!
(Well, ok then. I can't show the pictures That sucks )
Actually, you can. Upload em to imgur or any other working image upload site, then insert an image (the one next to the quote symbol) and link it to the image you want to show.

I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!
Hello mineshopper I don't want to be a bother but if for any reason no one updates this mod to 1.8 will this mod just slowly die? or do you have plans to eventually update it if nobody else does?
Porting it won't be easy. I think someone's time would be better spent mimicking the basic features of the mod in a way that works well with 1.8's block state and rendering system, and move forward from there.
If I do decide to move forward, that's exactly how I would handle it.
I sure hope someone does something I might just play 1.7.10 until someone updates it but if nobody does I think I will slowly leave minecraft until mojang adds a better building system or until mojang makes the combat something besides slapping your enemies to death but a number of games are looking very promising such as planets cube also one other thing I don't know much about java the last mod I made was in 1.5.2 and it only added a few swords but couldn't someone just add normal blocks that simply look like those shapes? as for making them look like other blocks idk how that works but since someone can add models in just a texture pack in 1.8 I would think that it would be simple to simply make a normal let's say stone block and give it a new model and just make it act like stairs for some of them would something like that work?

Edit: Looked around Presence Footsteps thread and it seems it's more of a problem on that end. Oh well... :<
Hell no. Minecraft does not need a THIRD microblocks implementation.

Yeah.. both mods use sound events. I might be able to resolve the crash at least by providing a default sound resource.

Don't click this link, HE is haunting it...
ah ok, that's a shame. do your fences burn if placed next to lava?
AFAIK they do, if the block they mimic is flammable. So a wool barrier would burn and so would a wood barrier, but not a stone barrier.
yeah found that out last night when i converted all my farm fencing to carpenters fences then coated them in nether brick. looks good now

.....Wouldn't it have been easier to just use nether brick fence? Or am I missing something?
