1.5.2 Version please!!! It´s the most common Version at all!!!
I believe (it's been a while since I tested) that Torch Levers Version 1.2.1 (you can find it in the older downloads section) is compatible with Minecraft 1.5.2. To port all the recent changes to Minecraft 1.5.2 would be very difficult since newer stuff is based on new Minecraft features.
As for 1.7.2 I'm currently rewriting this mod and it will take a little while longer then past updates.
trying out your mod on 1.6.4
I made a redstone button, but that button wouldn't trigger a signal.
Is this a known issue?
The way redstone buttons works is actually pretty strange and not at all straight forward, so I'm going to guess (and hope) you're just running the signal backwards. If not I'll defiantly look into what's causing this.
Is the input coming into the button or into the block the button is on? (It should be going to the block the button is on, example: (lever) (redstone) (redstone) (dirt) (redstone button) (redstone), when the lever is flipped on the button should pulse).
If this is how you are doing it could you tell me what block the redstone button is on that won't pass the signal, and if it's a vanilla block (or the problem persists on vanilla blocks) could you tell me what other mods you have installed so I can try to figure out what's causing the behavior to change.
Sorry you're having trouble with the buttons, I hope I can fix this soon, and thanks for reporting it!
I just wanted to let you (and anyone else who might be interested) know that I just added your great mod to my mod pack, Eldritch Studies. We're considering taking our server public soon, so it'll be awesome to have some secrets and traps to deal with strangers on there.
(lever) (redstone) (redstone) (dirt) (redstone button) (redstone), when the lever is flipped on the button should pulse).
Who uses a lever to turn on a button?
I had (redstone button) (smoothstone) (redstone) (redstone) (redstone)
press the button- no signal
replace redstone button with a vanilla button
press the button, and voila! signal.
I wanted to use the redstone button to turn on a powered rail
to start my minecart because it's very visible, and not the ugly
wooden texture- but it just didn't work.
glad to let you know, loving the other features of your mod.

Okay, I understand now. The Redstone Button/Lever were intended to simplify larger circuits and make cool compact build possible, as such they behave in a unique way.
The Redstone Button acts as a rising edge detector/monostable circuit. When the block it's on becomes powered it sends out a one tick pulse.
The Restone Lever acts as a T Flip-Flop, changing it's output state (flipping the lever) when ever the input rises (the block it's on gets powered).
I never though about using them as high contrast switches (I guess it didn't cross my mind since the mod is primarily about hiding things, not making them more visible). I'll think about this in the future and maybe can find somewhere to make high contrast switches in my current mod plan.
As for the usefulness of the redstone logic switches, I'll present you with this concept (the one I used to determine what to add)
(Torch Button A) -> (Stone) -> (Redstone Button) -> (Redstone Wire A)
(Torch Button B ) -> (Stone) -> (Redstone Button) -> (Redstone Wire A)
(Torch Button ...) -> (Stone) -> (Redstone Button) -> (Redstone Wire A)
(Redstone Wire A) -> (Stone) -> (Redstone Lever) -> (Redstone Wire B ) -> (Door)
When ever any torch button is pressed the door will toggle states immediately, and as an added bonus (thanks to the Redstone Buttons), multiple inputs can be received in rapid succession, allowing you to close the door before the original button even resets.
Sorry for the confusion, I hope this clears things up, and I must admit I'm relieved there is no bug for me to fix, even if the mechanic is a bit strange and should probably explain itself a bit better.
Thanks for getting back to me, and have a happy crafting!
Lol- I'm glad for your sake there is no bug too-
but calling a pulser a button is counter intuitive.
any ideas how you could make that more apparent ingame?
when you stand on the automatic spike it crahes the game. worse is, that when you relaunch the map it crashes again and again. i had to disable this mod. hope i helped
You should post your crash report. All you have to do is copy it and the put it in here using spoilers. I use this mod and stand on them all the time with no crash. You probably have another mod conflicting with it.
good to see your doing a rewrite for 1.7.* with all the code update it probably had to be done anyway. will be looking forward to it
EDIT: also I was wondering if i could get the source code for the illusion blocks.
I am making a private mod for my server, and would like to add an illusion block to cover all my custom blocks.
Hello,I installed torchlevers mod in my own modpack, it seems that is loading fine, I see the items in NEI but when i try to pick a block or an item it say "No such item", should I dump the ids and check if is an id conflict?Thank you so much for your time.
My bad, i did something really stupid, never mind, your mod is awesome!
I have been looking for something, but have not yet found it for 1.6.4. I believe it would make a perfect addition to your mod as you already are concentrating on levers/buttons.
NOBODY has made and adjustable lever/button/pressure plate yet! I have not been able to find a single one... So many things now react to variable redstone levels, from rotarycraft, to openblocks radios. But in order to get the level I want, I have to run a length of redstone, or do some wizardy with comparators.
Could you please add an adjustable lever/button/pressure plate? So I can open a GUI in it, select a redstone level, and they will then emit that level instead of a fully 15 level signal.
A toggle lever would be nice too, so you can toggle between two different redstone levels, instead of just on/off.

Without a crash report I can't fix this error. I suspect you are running version 1.3.2 though, and if thats the case updating to Torch Levers Version 1.3.3 should fix the bug you described.

I'm not sure if this will be added to the 1.7 version, but I'll consider it's potential utility. In the meantime since it was fairly simple, I made a basic version. You can download it here: Variable Redstone Mod. It adds a single block to the game:
The block can be pushed around with pistons to do all sorts of things (simple trigger with an input, or even some sort of complex switching system). When placed they start at output level 0, right click with redstone dust in hand to increase the level, and right click with an empty hand to decrease it. The block outputs the way a redstone block does, but at the level it's currently set to.
I hope that can do what you were looking for. As for a license do what ever you want with it. It's simple enough that I didn't think to put the source code anywhere, but I can put it on github or something if anyone is interested.
Torch Levers Version 1.2.1 works with Minecraft 1.5.2, but lacks a lot of the newer features. You can see all the older versions here, just click Show next to "Older Versions" and check the Changelog to see what features you'll be missing with older versions.
Yes... eventually. I'm a bit sidetracked, and am planning a very large rewrite of the mod though. I think it will still be a while out.
Oh I almost forgot the Torch Levers Mod is now over a year old. Thank you all for making it an awesome year!
I tried to aproximate the download count, my best estimate is around 72,000 downloads! (but I feel like it's probably a lot higher)
Sorry I'm a bit slow to reply to some of you, but here goes...

Cool spotlight, I've added it to the first post.

Hey man nice mod here but there is a bug to where when you place spike traps the reg ones on stone bricks you don't see them at all every now and then when I place one I see it . I am using version 1.3.3. Thanx man

Thanks for the report, I've fixed the bug (there was a tiny typo in a single function), but luckily I knew where to look.
Rather then making a new version (1.3.4, since it was seriously a single bit of changed bytecode), I just did a silent update to V1.3.3 (if you download it again you'll get the fix). Sorry for this silly bug, and thanks again for finding it!

Comment: Nice mod indeed. Used for trapping in a server if someone decides to make it with PvP-ing.
Report: This can be a problem when conflicts with ExtraBiomesXL. Making it rain redstone levers xD. Still, nice work on this mod!

Dude you own a server and have a mod pack and don't know how to resolve id conflicts ? That's your prob there.
