I have the same issue when using the recommended version of forge 1334, and inventory tweaks release 1.59.
I just started getting this issue too, after I upgraded from an old version of Forge. Thankfully I haven't emptied my recycle bin, so I can go back and see what version I was using that worked with it.
It appears I was using version 1290. I'll check back and let you know if it works.
...Nope, nothing. Strange.
EDIT: I seem to have fixed it simply by using the latest version of Forge instead of the recommended stable version.

Is there any way to stop it from saying Configuration loaded? I already did changed the setting enableConfigLoadedMesssage=false but it still shows up the first time I join a server after launching Minecraft.
Will there be a bug-fix back-release for 1.7.10? Like many other 1.7.10 users, I'm having to run with the auto-refill feature turned off because it keeps on throwing stuff on the floor. (Which, depending on where I am at the time, may mean "into lava".)

If anyone could please help me with the InvTweaksCompatibility.xml file, I would really appreciate it.
Although this is pre-emptive, thank you for reading this far.
I'm trying to add compatibility for IC2 Personal Safes:
<personalsafe class="ic2.core.block.personal.ContainerPersonalChest" row_size="9" large_chest="false"/>
and Chococraft's saddle/pack bags:
<chocopack class="chococraft.common.bags.ChocoPackBagInventory" row_size="9" large_chest="false"/>
Restarting MC with the above^ in the xml file hasn't added the sort options to either containers. I'm not entirely sure of the problem.
I believe the correct formatting is:
<whateveryouwant class="modname.filepathtocorrectclassfile.classfilename" row_size="the container's row width" large_chest="I have no idea what this does"/>
I also understand that the provided means of adding containers is barebones and may not work anyways, but I'm unsure if the problem is of my own doing or not.

Ok I noticed a few other people are having an issue with the LCntrl+LShift (move all similar items) shortcut not working. I checked the config file and it looks fine. It will work once, but then stops working. Anyone figured out why this is happening?
I am using the latest version of Forge and the 1.59 version of Inv Tweaks.
*Edit: Ok so I have been using this for a bit and it seems to start working and then will stop and then start working again. Not sure if the is some sort of delay in place stopping you from spam using it or something, but it is sure acting odd.
Forge is updated!I just built my new PC and installed everything fresh, if you look at the 2nd pic, you will see I'm using the latest "Recommended" version...
Retracted, I see what you mean... I'll try that...
why are FML and Forge 2 different things? this pisses me off...

They're separate because sometimes you only need FML, and installing all of forge is way big ginormous overkill. Not often, but still. It would be a lot handier if they listed he FML version alongside the forge version on the download page, that's fer sher.
Does anyone know how to make the mod sort by id and strickly by id on all non-locked intances without any fancy categories?
In other words, when I'm playing and my chests start to get more and more clogged I'd like for a way to set the mod to sort it by the items id's, the way the mod sorts everything in the image below doesn't work for me at all. (Cobblestone id 4, then moss stone id 48 followed by end stone id 121 and then dirt id 3)
I'd like to be able to hit the sort key on the chest and have it look like this:
I sorted it manually using the ids that NEI shows me.

Any help on the matter is apreciated.
I'm not really sure what you mean by non-locked instances. But if you want it to sort items via your own method, edit the file in your config folder called InvTweaksTree.txt, you can find a guide on how to edit/add things to the file on the Inventory Tweaks home page.
I'm having the same problem and i cant find any way to fix it
If anyone knows how to fix this that would be great
It seems my shortcuts file got reset to default upon update. Open it and setup your desired keys again.
"Tool damage ordering can be reversed by configuration file."
How do I do this??
Can anyone confirm whether or not version 1.59 works on Minecraft 1.8.3?

Kobata has stated he doesn't want to touch 1.7.10 again and to bother the mod devs refusing to update to 1.8. See my issue on Github here.
