No trees don't grow on the moon. When a sapling is selected in the hotbar it turns to a separate item. This item looks like a sapling but will not grow no matter what one does.
Then you installed something wrong or something else because I can plant trees just fine.
And even so you can grow the saplings that Moon Villages already have planted with bonemeal.
so.. why don't i seem to be able to craft rocket fuel? i have everything done, but i can't go anywhere. is that on purpose? i noted that someone mentioned compiling a beta on the previous page. do i have to do that? where's the beta code hosted?
e: nvm, i guess. found the github repo. not sure how i missed the link to it the first time i looked...
it's basically a demo, since there is a more up-to-date version, and it's just a base representation of the final product. call it whatever you want, it's almost exactly like a demo
A demo is a "demonstration" of a full software product. It has nothing to do with version.
Most games and software have an alpha and/or beta testing phase, you're just lucky enough I'm releasing the alpha. If I had not given the mod to DaveChaos/The Yogscast, you wouldn't have found out about this mod. So either play the current released version or don't make me spend so much time replying to oblivious idiots like you.

you're right, I wouldn't have, but i have to say that i was severely disappointed when I found out the Yogscast got special treatment just because they are big youtubers. They got to play a cool space travel mod, that has looks like a lot of fun, while I get to play a semi-decent moon mod, that isn't quite has fun. At the very least could you explain why you're not releasing that version. You could slap a !!WARNING!! sticker on it, and posters like me, the "oblivious idiot" as you put it, would be gone.
It's called advertising, I suppose you have never heard of it.
You see, it's this very advantageous way of getting people to come download the mod so that he can then get money to get a mod team or programs or whatever to help him make the mod better.
Also, you get pretty much the same thing as them, but with a couple less planets (Remember how they could barely go anywhere besides the moon and mars?), and no aliens.
Also, you get a much less buggy release while they have to work hard to get it to work for MP and then have a rather buggy version.
Although I agree he should put something in there to say that the current version of the mod isn't the exact same thing as what you see in the Yogscast video or something like that.
On the other hand, it is just as easy to look at what people are saying.
Anyways, you can sit down and play with the mod and not be complaining all the time, or you can uninstall the mod and wait until the version that the Yogscast have is released.

This is an amazing mod, I just have one criticism (and I'm sorry if it's been mentioned before, I didn't feel like reading the whole thread) but parachutes don't work in atmosphere-less environments. I understand it's a WIP mod but that is a major scientific flaw and it picks at the know-it-all in me
I hope this is resolved soon; perhaps by some sort of rocket boots with thrusters on the bottom that you use to slow your descent down to the surface?
