DartCraft seems to suffer from a lack of user-friendliness, which doesn't surprise me given its breadth and width. Good news on this front: the new version of DartCraft has a helper/info button built into Force Infusers that gives hints for upgrade materials and lists info on discovered upgrades. I've also just managed to add proper crafting recipes for Force Transmutations that are visible in NEI, which should serve to alleviate much thread referencing. The bad news: so many things have changed since my initial spotlight that I feel a new one is necessary before DartCraft sees a release for 1.6. In addition to this I am going to have to rework the first post removing old implements replacing them with newer features. These things will take some time, but when they're done I'll happily post the new version of DartCraft for 1.6 for everyone to enjoy. In the meantime I have just posted Episode 3 of my on youtube, which does show and explain the new Force Infuser info sub-gui. Please check it out and stay tuned.
awesome news, can't wait to add dartcraft back into the fray
also i love your sense of humor in the other videos.

i keep making the same mistake, i think "oh, i've given them a few months, surely it'll be fixed by now" THAT is why i seem to ALWAYS be angry to some of you, my advice is to get the lead out.
there were nice things here, until the mod author threw a tantrum.
Still getting the conflict with Tinkers and Dartcraft and making barricades instead of force sticks.
i have modified the CFG file for both mods, but it doesnt matter to the mod.. it makes barricades.

running 0.1.20 beta
also same issue on Unleashed 1.1.2 and 1.1.3
Force sticks are made from Force planks now, same pattern as regular sticks.
MCantrell - I'll look into that TileEntity from Mystcraft and possibly blacklist it for wrenching if it doesn't respond like normal TileEntities. TileBox is the name of the Item that is "wrenched" and stored in the user's inventory. As such when no data is found on the Item it will display its basic name and texture and will not allow you to place it. As for the rendering crash I am fiendishly certain I fixed that with the latest patch as it is very clear in my memory.
I just tested this in singleplayer creative. It happens with all Writing Benches. This is with Unleashed 1.1.3, although the server and client were 1.1.2 when I first had the problem.
The wrench correctly refuses to take the "fake" block that the writing bench makes, but when taking the other one it still gives the Cobble-Tile faux block.
Having a full hotbar of these caused Java to lock up, although that's hit or miss -- it stopped after I rerolled that single player test world. Deleting them in NBT Explorer didn't help -- indeed, NBT Explorer didn't seem to actually work at all. Wondering if I need to get a newer Minecraft save editor or something.
One thing I did notice in NBT Explorer is the data for a wrenched (serialized) Writing Bench seems to have the wrong "ID", if I understand it right. Specifically, it says:
ID: 6304 (Tile Block or whatnot)
tag / block / id: 1283
tag / tile / id: WritingDesk
For comparison, the stack of Writing Benches in my inventory are ID 8959. I don't know what item ID 1283 is.
When I do the same thing with a furnace, the IDs under Block match up -- both are 61. Unfortunately my copy of NBTExplorer doesn't seem to want to let me save things, but I think the way to fix my broken item is to change tag / block / ID to match the Writing Bench it actually is -- 8959. In theory that would let me place it, right?
Failing that, I think I could... maybe... copy the serialized stuff from tag / tile and place it on another writing bench?
You could also maybe make a fake texture or whatnot -- a Question Mark Block from Mario 3 seems appropriate -- for when the client can't figure out what texture to use. You could even add a config option that would override ALL serialized item's textures with this faux texture, on the off chance it bugs out like this again in the future. Would give a person a chance to log in and ditch the item.
doesn't work that way, multimc needs to be updated for 1.6.2, the next version that supports 1.6+ will be MMC 5 and no one knows yet when it's ready, except maybe forkk.

Doesn't work for me. It just makes normal sticks. Since I updated FTB today I am unable to craft force sticks at all. Using 0.1.18
It really sucks as I was enjoying this mod a lot. Now only way to get force sticks is to cheat them in.
Also the recipe in NEI still shows 2 force logs.
It's a known bug with the 1.1.3 version of FTB you should check the FTB fourms. Either downgrade with the launchers drop down window that says "recommended" back to 1.1.2 or wait for the upcoming 1.1.4 in which it's fixed. I'm sticking with 1.1.2 for now and skiping 1.1.3 altogether for my server.

I may share certain physiological similarities with simians, but that doesn't make me a monkeys uncle.
You'll need to use version 0.1.19 or higher to be able to craft Force Sticks from Force Planks, as that is when I made the change. I would recommend using version 0.1.20 however as there are significant bugfixes present in that version. In fact, I cannot recommend using any version of DartCraft other than the latest I have released, nor will I support previous versions when newer versions are released.
As for the TileBox having the "incorrect" ID. Actually the "ID" present at the beginning of the tag is always the ID of the TileBox itself, defaulting to 6304. This ID is created by minecraft when it saves the user's inventory. The secondary ID, to which I believe you were referring, is actually the BlockID that was serialized, not necessarily the ItemID of the item that breaking the block gives. Mystcraft and many other mods sometimes use items instead of blocks for purposes such as these, and when a player right-clicks these items onto a valid location in the world the desired block and TileEntity is placed at that location. In this instance the item is used in place of a block likely because an Item makes custom logic such as checking to see if the adjacent block is available easier to accomplish, preventing unnecessary errors that could result from a Writing Desk being placed in solid matter. This custom logic makes for a bad pairing with the Force Wrench and in the next version Mystcraft TileEntities have been blacklisted for Force Wrenching for good measure.
At any rate I'm about to start working on the Mod Spotlight for 1.6, so I hope to post the new version in a few days.
Force sticks can not longer be crafted and I don't see a change in the reciepy listed any where. When I try to make them I get an X object named Oak Barriocade. ????
Using with Mod Pack FTB - Unleashed - latest build as of last night. Prior to the update the mod was working correctly and I was able to craft force sticks just fine. Post update, no joy. Gives me that X shaped thing that looks like its from Tinkers Construct. A binding of some sort. Since the recipe hasn't changed, this must be a bug..
i think you have to use the wood from force trees (I'm not sure as I'm waiting for the mod to be 1.6 as it will be my first time using it!)
That would be the correct recipe. The one that I am using that is no longer valid. Thanks though, never know if one is or isn't using the right stuff. But in this case I am.
Bug? I don't know what exactly I did, but I currently have a full set of force armor with only one infused ability on the boots - "speed". I have been making and using all the tools.. a pickaxe with both grinding and heat and speed, mostly just pickaxes without infusing anything, axes with lumberjack and sometimes speed, shovel with speed, and sword with sharpness VI. I have used the force mitts as well.
Anyway, here is the deal: When I hit ore, rock, wood, dirt with my bare hands it mines it about as fast as a diamond pickaxe or even faster. When I hit leaves they vanish like I was hitting them with an electric saw. My bare hand now acts as a diamond pickaxe. I can even mine obsidian with my bare hand.
When I take the force armor off, each piece slows me down a little when mining a block but I can still mine it. When I put it on one piece at a time I get faster and faster at mining the block(s).
I don't think being able to use your bare hand as a diamond pickaxe with armor that isn't even infused with anything except a single piece of sugar is working as intended. I wish I had more details on how I accomplished this, but I don't know what I did. I mined with my turtle and non-infused pickaxes for hours then went up top and set up a steve's cart setup for force trees. While I was clearing the area for the track is when I noticed it and was like, WTH?
I logged out for the night and logged back in today and I still have the ability so whatever it is, it is stuck.
Edit: Playing around with it some more, it seems I need the pants and at least one other piece of armor in order to mine anything with my bare hands. When I do I am noticing the durability on all pieces of armor is dropping by 1. But it doesn't always drop.
course it is, that's why bluedart makes the comment like "dartcraft, overpowering minecraft" (the mod is a wonderful suite of shortcuts) so much on the youtube videos about it.
besides, it's really not as powerful as you assume, you can't punch-mine anymore suddenly if the hotbar slot you had selected fills, unless you're constantly stopping to empty extra stuff from your inventory you'll have to sort that stuff off the hotbar to keep doing it, it's not as easy as you'd think.
the ability just happens having the armor on at all, be glad you have an extra hotbar slot free.
also, i'm pretty sure you can one shot kill mobs with a punch too, that may be just in creative though, i think it ups your punch damage either way though but, i'm not that suicidal to use my barehands as my main attack even in force armor.

Ok, so that is as intended? Well I guess since it uses durability on the armor it's something. I would agree that it is overpowered though. And yes, I just noticed I was able to do quite a bit of damage with my fists as well.

Yeah, the videos are fun to watch. Looking forward to playing Dartcraft with 1.6.2.
