Thanks for all the suggestions! Expanding the uses of the printing press is something I am quite interested in doing. The next version of BiblioCraft will expand on the uses of the printing press relating to enchanted books. I will reveal more about how that works when I get a little closer to release. I like the idea of posters/printed paintings, that could be pretty neat, esp if I had a folder you could drop custom artwork in and choose your poster design. Exploding scrolls would be hilarious. The idea of a type of encrypted book is a really neat idea too. I'll these ingredients to the pot of ideas steeping in my head and see what happens.
Oh man. That little teaser about enchanted books has my mouth watering!
some a lil bug for ya, i can't put up the bottles of ale, wine, or cider from growthcraft up on the potion rack and well they moe or less work like potions

That's not a bug at all, because despite the similarity, they aren't potions.
That said, it's not a bad suggestion to have compatibility with other mods in this department- perhaps the ability to add specific item IDs to what can be stored on the various shelves.
The mod appears to have made my game crap its pants...

What makes you think I was ever being reasonable? I'm sitting here with a pile of guns while wearing a flamethrower, and you thought that, at some point, I was being reasonable?
The only issue with compatibility with better storage is the enchantment ID. As long as you change the enchantment ID to a free ID there should be no problems.
You were right, now is working perfectly, thanks for the help and for the great mod. ^ ^
Just wanted to drop in with a quick thanks very much - This mod is really fantastic. Very simple but makes so much difference, exactly the kind of thing I love.
I run my own small server for myself and some friends, using CraftBukkit - I'm no expert with this stuff but I can't find this mod on GetBukkit - are you intending to make it available on Bukkit at any point?
Probably unlikely there will ever be a pure bukkit version because I take advantage of a handful of forge hooks and technologies to make some of the things possible. So yeah, I'm not sure I could if I wanted to really. I think the best you can hope for is an updated version MCPC Plus or some future bukkit variation with built in forge.
Any news about the ability to let the Bibliocraft blocks draw their textures from the texturepack installed by the user? If I remember correctly, you said that you want to take a look at that when 1.5 is out - did you?
Oh, and don't get me wrong, I like Bibliocraft just fine with its standard textures, but it would be even better if that was possible... though I understand that it isn't easy to implement that function, as you've already stated. Probably it wouldn't be worth the time it would take to code it.
I did spend some time messing with that and while after 1.5 it is quite easy to get the regular woods to display on the stuff in my mod, I had a ton of scaling issues. I came the conclusion that there is no good easy way to do this. There might be a way by redoing all my models and stuff in another modeling app and use the new obj importer in forge, but yeah, I'm not sure it's worth the time it would take. I have other cool new features I want to spend my time on.
So, if I am understanding you correctly, you can't change the way an item's reading GUI looks, and you can't change the page limit?
Well, that is alright then.
Can you still just make things like Scrolls and Paper(s) you can write on?
And can you still make Scroll shelves and different models for maps and papers depending on where they are?
Like, on bookshelves, a single paper and a map look like a folded piece of paper, but on a desk, a single paper is unfolded, and on scroll shelves, maps and single papers are rolled up?
And how about placing a paper and quill in the crafting table with paper on either side of it would make stacked paper and quill?
This could look (like I said in my other post) like the pages of a book, but without the book, standing up in a shelf, and laying down on a desk. Stacked papers and books would be unable to be placed in scroll shelves.
Also, thank you for reading my posts, it means a lot to me!
Right, I can't change the vanilla books GUI looks and page limits and stuff. I can add new stuff that does anything I want, but changing vanilla stuff requires base edits which means I would need to make a core mod which I'm not going to do for many reasons.
I'm not sure about the single paper and quill and really, adding 9 pages you get 9 pages to write on, but a book is only 3 pages and you get 50 pages to write on. Even though the book requires a leather, the paper seems more expensive. So it's hard to see an advantage to having it.
Scrolls could be kind of neat and some other people have brought up some interesting ideas for it. I still feel like they need something more to help them be more useful over what we already have in the game. I'll keep the idea around though and maybe after I get caught up on some of the cool things I have planned I can revisit the idea some more.
I would like eventually to have books on bookcases and stuff vary in looks depending on what is on the shelf, but this is still a good ways out before I will get around to it. I have many other things I want to do that will come first.

I'll check it out and add some keywords to the default config for support. This is something you can do now if you check out the BiblioCraft config located in your .minecraft/config folder. There is a line for the potion shelf that allows the player to add new keywords of items in the game to allow those items to be placed on the shelf.
Okay then, thanks for reading my suggestion, I guess I can wait for the scrolls and things like that if they do come.
I only suggested the papers, because I think they would just look nice.
I dont know if this has been asked or suggested before since i dont want to read 59+ pages of comments, but what would be cool is if you added an item or a feature to the labels so that you could write small text onto chests as a way to label them without using regular signs and just place them on chests like the bukkit plugin but doesnt take up the whole front side of the chest

Are there any plans for better compatibility with Better Storage? It looks like there's an ID conflict with the Enchantment ID.
I was thinking about changing the enchantment ID so a safe one, but I haven't had time to try to work out what a safe ID might be. There is so many mods out there, it is very easy to choose a number that conflicts with something. Would any care to recommend a safe ID?

As Ekacfeeb12 mentioned, the reading glasses or the monocle might give you about what you want. The thing is, Steve just doesn't have that great of vision, so he needs glasses to see the text. I don't really have plans to add any more text to the labels other than that.
Why does the Redstone I book has my minecraft nickname?
It goes like this : Redstone I -by Yucriox (which is my minecraft name)
Is this a feature ?
As XanderGryphon mentioned, this is a feature. It's to make it look like your important redstone book looks like just another signed book. Rename it on the anvil to make it even more secret.
I'd like to make a request for adventure map makers please.
The ability to lock the bookshelves/itemshelves/armourstands/etc...
Just so you can pretty it up a bit without the players looting the crap out of shop windows and stuff.
Just an nbt tag
short: lootable [0/1] would be perfect.
Thanks
Lockable block is definitely something on my list. Is what I will probably do is add a new item with the sole purpose of locking blocks. Then I will store both the name of the user who locked the block and the boolean of whether it is lootable both to NBT. I'll make it so the original user can still access the block, or at least unlock it. I will make the blocks unbreakable when they are locked as well. That should cover it, make it so you can secure stuff in multiplayer and so mapmakers can fancy up adventure maps and keep people from taking stuff. I can't say when I will get around to this, I could some pretty cool things coming down the pipeline before I will get it to, but it is coming.

In your Minecraft folder should be a file: ForgeModLoader-client-0.log
Copy/paste the contents of that file in spoiler tags.

As Ekacfeeb12 mentioned, the reading glasses or the monocle might give you about what you want. The thing is, Steve just doesn't have that great of vision, so he needs glasses to see the text. I don't really have plans to add any more text to the labels other than that.
As XanderGryphon mentioned, this is a feature. It's to make it look like your important redstone book looks like just another signed book. Rename it on the anvil to make it even more secret.
