hi guys, i think i may have encountered a bug with the knapsack. I'm not sure if this is intended or not, but if i die with the knapsack equipped and it has items in it, those items don't drop, and i lose random items from both my inventory and the knapsack. it appears that it limits the amount of items dropped to 36, which may be why i lose those random items. if this can be fixed, thanks in advance!
I have a small question. Ever since I updated this mod to the latest version I somehow can't create some items no more. I can't for example make a Manyullyn pickaxe head any more, nor can I do this with Cobalt + Alumite + Copper + Ardite.
But for some reason I can do this with Obsidian.
Like it shows the Info section like the information, which ingot and what mining level etc, but it doesn't show the 'image' of the pickaxe head. And when looked up in NEI I can see it perfectly fine.
I only updated this mod so I have no idea. It also doesn't crash or anything.
Also I can't run the error test as I can't seem to run it with my MultiMC. It DID say that there were some ID's missing (somewhere around the 14000 I think) between the world and the mods or something.
Any ideas?
You must make metal tools using the Smeltery as of last version.

ermmmm are you using a wooden pattern? if so, there's a new config option that disables using metals with wood patterns, you must use a smeltery. other than that, i'm out of ideas
Right clicking an AE Crafting Monitor while holding a tinker's constructed item will disconnect the user. No client or server crash, just a disconnect.
Algorithm states this is a Tinkers Construct bug, related to the attempt to place items on a right click. Note right clicking other AE blocks does not disconnect.
I just noticed that when you fill your Smeltery with lava and leave the game and come back, the lava still renders in the tank but it's no longer in the GUI and you can't smelt anything until you break the control block and replace it.
So I was looking at your peace offering blocks. Thought how nice they are then I wondered what could you do in 1.6 (comes out next week) with stained clay stairs as there are not any at this moment. I thought that the stained clay stairs if textures are correct in stead of being stairs maybe they could be used as roofing elements.
Anyway thanks for the read. Oh cool thing I found out you can stack carpet on top of itself and there are air spaces below it but remove the solid block at the bottom and all the carpet falls. No idea how this could be a great trap set up but if there was a linked set of chests that would be interesting to see the carpet drop away from an unsuspecting player in 1.6.x.

When using the Lumber Axe in SMP, the tree disappears only for the person using it, and there's a Mining Fatigue debuff that doesn't go away unless you logout then back in. Using version 1.3.6.

Have you sat for a moment to see if the blocks are actually not smelting? My smeltery often does not show the lava in the controller gui, but still smelts stuff.
I have the same issue with a bucket of liquid iron. I've put the bucket in the Smeltery Controller, nothing happens. I've emptied the bucket in a seared window, doesn't work. I can only get the liquid back into the bucket. I tried the Casting Basin, but it only puts the bucket as a whole in the basin.
Any tips?

That is one such set-up for putting liquid back into a smeltery, designed by mDiyo. Without getting as fancy, all you need is a drain on the top layer of a smeltery, small side facing up. There should be a tank one up and to the side of the drain such that if you place a faucet, you can pour from the tank to the drain. That should work for ya.
I went into the config file and added the item ID for the Rapier to valid sword IDs the Sword Pedestal from Legend Gear to make it a acceptable weapon, but when I placed the Rapier into the Pedestal my game crashed:

Do you have/know how to use MCEdit? You can remove the pedestal from your map using that tool. That should fix the crash on load. You'll lose the pedestal, and possibly the rapier, but it saves a whole world!
I cannot help with the crash itself. Sorry.
You have to determine that yourself. The experience you want from minecraft is probably different than what others want. What I suggest to you is looking through different mods and see which ones you think look cool. Play with all of them together, or as many as you can get working together. Determine if you actually like them and how well they work together, in your opinion. There you go, you're set!
This mod is standalone. It does not need another to be enjoyable. That said, I have other mods that make minecraft more enjoyable in other ways. Tinkers Construct is great for the tools. I love the smeltery. More stuff is planned. But it doesn't completely overhaul the game. I play with a bunch of mods that add small changes here and there, tweaking the game to what I think is best.
Some people play with ThaumCraft, Buildcraft, IC2, and other mods that add a heckton of content. Again, what you want out of minecraft is likely different from others, even if just a little.
(As a small suggestion for actual mods, mods that add more enemies to fight would probably make good use of the new weapons that Tinker adds.)

does that include iron? i can't get iron or copper to work at all on our server...

Those are iron blocks, I'm using a texture pack.
Those iron blocks can be replaced with other metal blocks, diamond blocks, or emerald blocks. The only caveat is that they must all be the same kind of block.

That is a known issue, and currently just needs to be ignored.

Yes. Metal parts must be made using casts and the smeltery. This can be changed in the config.
