I've posted a link and short description of it on their Central Mod Permissions thread, alongside several other free-to-use publicly-licensed mods, like InfiCraft, MineFactory Reloaded 2, and Xeno's Reliquary. Maybe they'll take notice
Also, this may be a bit of a strange request, but I have an inter-compatibility feature idea.
Would it be possible to remove all other crafting recipes from vanilla tools (and basic simple mod-added tools like bronze from IC2 or steel from Railcraft) and then add a convert-to-vanilla crafting recipe feature?
For example, instead of being able to craft a wood-handled wood-binding stone-headed pickaxe in the tool station, and also being able to craft three cobblestone above two sticks to get a normal stone pickaxe, it should only be possible to make the stone pickaxe by putting the wood-handled wood-binding stone-headed pickaxe in the crafting table.
You might wonder, "why in the world would you want to do that? It'll make your tools break, and you can't add modifiers!" Well, to take an example from one of those mods I mentioned above, MFR2 machine recipes often require golden tools to craft. And being able to just make normal tools the "easy" way seems a little cheaty. I know there's no actual golden tools yet, but something could probably be worked out.
ETA for the next update is 2 days to infinity. Probably closer to 2 days, but my family likes to muck things up so it could take a week.
AnonTheMouse: I may tweak the worldgen a bit between now and release, but nothing dramatic.
Qwertygiy: I've thought about it, considered it, tried such things. There are two problems with this. First, I do not have gold or diamond tools. I will never have diamond tools, so you'll never be able to get one. Second, there will be many people who say "Y I NO MAKE WOOD PICKAXE".
I feel the same way. If Minecraft was my game, I would replace the normal tool crafting with this.
Blockmaster139: I thought mystic ores died with 1.7.3?
BluntSword: Aluminum is well and truly useless. Cobalt and Ardite should have smelting recipes at least. Both of them need the smeltery to be used to full effect.
Darthrafael: Odd, I thought I fixed that.
zerofox21898: Not at all. Free enchantments on top of modifiers would get so overpowered I wouldn't know where to begin. Most enchantments will have equivalent modifiers in the future, and you'll be able to add some via enchanted books.

As to the first problem, I was thinking iron-headed tool with diamond modifier would work. Obviously there's no gold modifier yet, and I don't know what the status for that will ever be, but just my opinion.
I totally understand the n00b problem, though. That's the problem with changing anything in vanilla.
Oh well. Maybe I'll go GregTechy on it once the mod is more complete and work on an add-on mod that does that It'd probably make furnaces harder to obtain, too, because of frying pans and the Smeltery stuff.
WHICH REMINDS ME... perhaps we can have molten/stained glass? I know that every other mod does it, but still.
Qwertygiy: I would like molten glass. Melting it down into a liquid would make a clearer variety, something more pure. Dying it is going to be a bit more involved. you'll need a vat for shaping blocks, liquid dye, aqueducts for moving liquids around... well, let's say I hate how buildcraft pipes float in midair.
Marvl101: Yes, you'll have to cool them off. Leaving them in the table will cool slowly, or you can throw them in a cauldron for instant shaped metal part.

So, basically, you'll be implementing half of Thermal Expansion Well, I never really use it anyway.
Vat for shaping blocks... does that mean we might have stained glass panes, too? Or Storm Windows perhaps, made around a wood or metal frame for blast resistance?
[content deleted] nvm it seems ur still working on tier 2 stuff guess it won't be out for awhile
okay i don't know if this is a bug or something, but when i try to use the last durability of a wood pick ax it won't mine anything as well as not breaking.... it just has a little sub-tab saying broken... would want to get rid of it instead.... and higher tier equips.... guess i'll make a pit for nolonger useful item.
Now compatible with the Liquid API. This means they go in any tank you like. Of course, I like tanks too...
Taigore: Copper, Bronze, and Iron are all tier 1 tools. They'll work with the normal part builder and tool station for quite some time.
Qwertygiy: I've not played much with Thermal Expansion. I know it's made as a BuildCraft addon, and I'm not a fan of BuildCraft, so I need something of my own to work with.
Panes should be able to be made in the casting table. Metal plates too; it's how you'll get the moulds to begin with.
lazyxbum: When some of the higher level tools disappear, you'll be happy that they end up broken so you can repair them.
Just created a mod spotlight on tinkers construct because it seemed like a really cool mod. Check out my YouTube channel to check it out...my channel name is beckbrojack

On the subject of stained glass...Please, please use Ore Dictionary for your glass if you do. This is an issue I've had with both Metallurgy and Forestry, as they do not make their glass interchangable, and there are, at least on the Metallurgy side, recipes that call for coloured glass. RK has said he will try to do something about this on the Metallurgy end, but I haven't been able to get any comment for Forestry...and I hate having to use specific production chains for specific resources for specific recipes.
Those are some very pretty tanks you have there... It would be a shame if something were to happen to them.
But seriously, those tanks look very nice. One thing I might say though is that we already have BC glass tanks, RC iron tanks, TE portable tanks, and soon ecks-whycraft multi tanks. Each tank has its own unique uses despite the similarities. What will your tanks be unique for?
AnonTheMouse: Ore dictionary stained glass... So many mods add it that it should be in the dictionary. Perhaps we can get the other mods on board with it?
Caiman Crocigator: Once I'm done with them the tanks will merge together to make a large one. That's why there's three; you'll want to have different types for organizational purposes. The tanks also have uses as reinforced glass. Updating on them is disabled, so they aren't laggy at all.
Blockmaster139: Liquid obsidian is one of the components in that pink metal, as is Aluminum. The other purple metal is Manyullyn.
I had to change how Seared Bricks work to match the new Smeltery multi-block system. The block was replaced with something else, and that something else is ugly.
beckbrojack: Nice, I'll put it on the OP.
mrgreaper: I don't support UE to the ever-changing API, sorry.
I am trying to get other people onboard with using Ore Dictionary for glass, but it's hard when a lot of people don't check their threads often, or just don't see the need. I guess a lot of people see "Ore" in the name, and don't think about using it for anything else. I recall hearing that what got EBXL to register wood (not sure if Forestry does too, but I think they might) was Eloraam pushing for it. I...don't have that kind of reputation to throw around.

A well-written well-titled PM in the right place can go far. The worst thing that can happen is that it'll get ignored, which is the only thing that can happen if you don't send one, right?
And yes, I support of OreDictionary stained glass. glassBlue, glassPink, glassWhite... in addition to dustNikolite, ingotCopper, oreAluminum, woodFir, plankAcacia, stairWood, stickWood, slabWood, customStone, dyeRed...
The OreDictionary is (and should be!) used for many, many things besides just ores and ingots now.
Speaking of aluminum... you should make sure to register it with OD names with both "aluminum" and "aluminium", because of how Americans and Brits can't agree on how to spell it properly. I made a mod that added aluminum stuff back in 1.2.5 (yay, hand-held aluminum foil-ball cannon!) and the very first reply was some rude Brit who couldn't wrap his head around how we call it Aluminum in the States.
Another note: Liquid Obsidian? I know, it's Minecraft, not reality, and it does make some good game-play sense in Minecraft, but, uh, in this world, that's lava.
mrgreaper: I have no idea what would even cause such things. UE and IC2 are supposed to be separate, I need more information on when and why the crash is happening.
You could try updating Universal Electricity, of course.
Qwertygiy: Lava is liquid obsidian, yeah. It's just hotter liquid obsidian. You'll be able to turn it back with the tier 3 stuff later...
Noted about the aluminum vs aluminium bit. The piece of crud you get from smelting ore is "rawAluminum" right now.
By the way, I happen to like tanks so much that I turned the Smeltery into one.
You mean this permission?
Oh lol, didn't see that there.

would you need to cool down the new metal tools?
cause that would be an awesome feature to add
