Cheshire, I believe the last post on the last page by mDiyo should answer your question. In response to Joey about tigerwood sticks not making blank patterns, mDiyo said there were recipes to take care of still. Hopefully that includes the crafting station recipes as well. I don't actually have an answer for the aluminum. Sorry. Someone else'll need to answer that one. =/
Damn, I even read that post and I totally missed it
Just wondering why I can't built a Smelter, I build them and they don't initialize at all, I made sure to follow the correct tutorial but no matter how many attempts I did, the smelter never ever detect correctly and when I click on the controller, I only see a tank and nothing else that is shown in the videos. Restarted server, restarted client, did try in SSP world to make sure it wasn't server related but to no avail, and my brother just built one in his base without problems on the server, when he built his 2nd smelter, he got the same problem and we're stuck, could it be related to Forge, what version did you use to compile the latest version of Tinkers Construct, we have Forge version 712.
Also very sorry if this question was asked before...
I don't know why not. Steel is a pretty "straightforward" alloy. Smelt iron, add carbon (coal/charcoal), get steel.
I believe mDiyo added steel being used as a material JUST for cross-mod interaction. If he is going to make it attainable with "vanilla" TC, I would imagine it rather low on his priorities compared with everything else.

In my defense, though, I did read the FAQ, lol!
My "It would be wonderful if people could read" line was not pointed at you. I know that it can be difficult to catch answers in mDiyo's posts(as great as you are mDiyo! Your answer posts can be a bit difficult to decipher sometimes!), since you have to hunt down what questions mDiyo is answering.
My comment was aimed at the people who ask a question answered in the first post of a thread, or answered several times within the last few pages of a thread.

I play with Mc 1.5.1, Forge 7.7.2.679, and smeltery doesn't work, no GUI to place ores.
You can see the problem?
Thx for yours mods
Are either of you running Railcraft 7.2.0.0 or higher? If so, you must go into the railcraft config and set the id for the block block.hidden to 0. This block is used for the new tracking aura, and apparently messing up more than just TC's smeltery.
Also, it definitely has been asked before, several times in the last few pages of this thread. I certainly suggest reading the last 3-5 pages of any thread you want to post to, especially if you need a problem solved, because it may actually get you an answer faster than waiting for someone to answer your post.
Also, mDiyo, I found a bug with the heart canisters. I added a heart canister in my test world and got one extra heart.
After that, I added 9 more while in creative mode and dropped back into survival. I still had only one extra heart(visible) but appeared to have the amount I was supposed to as damage didn't take away any of the visible hearts.
Not only that, but the overlay of the extra heart stays no matter what world I log into, even though that extra heart doesn't do anything.
I can confirm this - the overlay persists between worlds and there is no way for me to remove it short of getting rid of the mod.
A workaround that worked for me was to create a new world, ~unequip all heart canisters, because they remain in your player.dat~ then uninstall the mod. Log into this new world to revert it. Close minecraft and reinstall the mod, and you should hopefully be able to log back into your NORMAL world without losing anything.
I would also like to add that this is not an issue from switching from Creative to Survival - in my experimentation with this bug, leaving any world with any extra hearts and logging into another world leaves the overlay behind - regardless of whether or not you have switched from creative to survival or vice versa in either world.
Thank you for the fix. That did work.
The switching between creative and survival was more for the part about getting only 1 heart overlay visible. Not the persistence. I didn't(couldn't) test if mode switching was the issue because the single heart overlay seemed stuck no matter what.
Edit: XD I was going to head over to the suggestion thread and let the person I had just helped get heart canisters working about the issue. Then realized you were the person.
Good time of day, I loved your mod and follow the updates from version 1.2. And I would very much like to share with the rest of this masterpiece on this site - http://www.minezone.pro/ and ask permission to publish. With great respect and best wishes of success, Russian community:3 And I apologize for the possible semantic errors, translated by Google^^'
I've just tested - mode switching has no effect on the persistence of the health capsules.
Re: Edit: Apparently I love to break this mod...! XD I also figured out not too long ago that attempting to add enchantments from books to any tool with full modifiers renames your tools. I have a sword named Belladonna - because nightshade is too cliche - and attempting to add Sharpness made it into "fBelladonna."
I believe I remember reading somewhere in the thread that mDiyo thinks xp is a terrible mechanic and will never use it. (It's entirely possible I have the wrong the thread) I don't think TC tools are meant to have vanilla enchantments. Although, you should just be able to rename the tool in the anvil anyway, right?
You'd hope so, but there are two problems;
1) Pixeled font looks awful in italics, and
2) The enchantment doesn't get added.
So now I've got a sword with a speech impediment and a name that's having trouble standing up straight. =P I remade it, though, so I didn't lose my precious sword, which is good news.
It's a shame about the heart canisters, though. The idea of having so much maximum health sounds amazing, were it more stable.
Edit : Also, if mDiyo didn't say it was an awful mechanic, trust me, I'm more than happy to take his place - that randomness is just no good.
I laughed alot when I read that. =)
I have Enchanting Plus to take care of the randomness. I don't like it either. If I want Fortune, or Aqua Affinity, I want fortune or aqua affinity. Not protection, or efficiency, or what have you. I feel if you get to the level where you are imbuing magic into your items, you should know what you are doing. Especially if you have a book you are staring at while doing so.
"Through days and days of hard research and attuning myself to the world around me by slaying monsters, I shall now impart the power I have gained to my sword!
...
Smite One!? What does that even MEAN!?"
At this point, what I've been doing is just gathering as much experience as I can and doing Lv. 1 enchanted books. Protection I can be combined together pretty cheaply, and that's the only enchantment I need now thanks to TConstruct. And pretty soon, once the TC armour is done, I won't need that enchantment any more either...!
I haven't quite gotten into enchanting books. Maybe because I have Enchanting+. And you are correct. With TC, the protection enchantments on armor(and the water based enchantments) are all we need right now. =)
I humbly request you keep your creeper rider in your minecraft, and not give my minecraft any ideas. =)
Also, what is that HUD display you are using?
I'm not sure which HUD thing you're referring to, but the Creeper's health bar on the left is from Damage Indicators, the red and blue meters at the top are Ars Magica mana bars (or something like that, I don't really know what the red one does at least), and the map on the right is Zan's Minimap.
So about the new Health Canisters. Do they add hearts and would they ever work with nohero's More Health mod installed? Also, is there a way to disable them so that they won't mess with nohero's more health mod, that is if they do?

There is currently no way in Tconstruct to obtain steel legitimately, you can however use steel from another mod as a substitute
Parkour! I have been meaning to get back into that recently...
Only from TConstruct, he moved them to Natura (they are found in the nether).
I believe mDiyo added steel being used as a material JUST for cross-mod interaction. If he is going to make it attainable with "vanilla" TC, I would imagine it rather low on his priorities compared with everything else.
