First off, my friends and I have been loving this mod! You have created an awesome addition to the game, giving an alternative to tech based tools and weapons. On my server, even with IC2 and Modular Powersuits, we have been sticking with your tools.
A couple of suggestions / things people on my server wish were in the mod;
Ranged weapons. (I know it is up as a priority and allready getting worked on, just thought I would put up ideas)
Bows:
Short Bow; fast speed, able to put more arrows down range for medium dammage per arrow. (don't know what a special could be)
Long Bow; Slow speed, but long range for high dammage. Special, Over draw. Much higher dammage but takes longer to draw.
CrossBow; (Maybe only made out of higher materials) Fast speed, high damage, but takes a long time to reload. (clip fed, clips expensive to make) Special could be unloading several bolts at once.
As for Katana's, with how the sword works and is actually used, the special should be either a decapitation (guaraneed on normal mobs, on wither skellitons have it be 80% chance of getting a regular skull, 20% for wither skull to keep from being overpowered), Or hiting multiple mobs at once.
Oh, and I peronsally have no idea how it would work, but everyone wants shields. >_<
Also, Damien_Darkside; You can add the axes from this mod to TreeCapitator's config really easy. Did so for my server.
Quite frankly I wouldn't mind a modifier that allows for trees to be cut down from where you chop it, or take the Thaumcraft route and have a modifier that chopped trees from the top down.
I was using TreeCapacitor, but the mod's axes weren't supported, and I hate cutting large oak trees. This would put more emphasis on hatchets, rather than enhancing weapons.
Plus if you ARE going to do polearms, maybe an Axe Head + Dagger Blade + Pole = Halberd? Maybe have it as one of these "Tier two" thingies I have read once or twice in this thread.
Pretty much the sword blade has three uses while Axes in their own right only have one major use since I just craft hoes instead of that mat... whatever the shovel axe is.
Heya just wanted to throw this out there. I don't know if you know but the timber mod is similar to the TreeCapacitor, I believe. and I know in timbers config file you can add ids to modded axes so they will also chop the whole tree down. This may be a fix for you for the time being.
Just wanted to drop by and say thank you for such a fun mod and thanks to Direwolf for introducing it to me!
To me, it doesn't feel too "moddy" just a big upgrade to vanilla.
Can't wait to see what's coming, especially for bows and armour - would be interesting to be able to tinker with arrows somehow (quartz and blaze powder = win!)
I have a little problem with the book. The recipe image is weird. but when i make it myself its fine. PICS http://imgur.com/qeSV70t http://imgur.com/4QnVM1f http://imgur.com/aTrtRft
As you can see the image in the book is messed up but the items themself are just fine...
(i do have optifine dont know if that the problem + the newest forge)
Just want to let you see. i do already know the recipes but i just want to report a bug i have...

There is a ingot cast you can make, right after the rod one, that cast is basically the only one you need the aluminum brass for, since you can then shape the ingots on wooden patterns to make the tool parts.
Most the ores in TC seem to use the Forge Ore Dictionary, but for some reason, it seems that TC Aluminum and Gregtech Aluminum aren't cross-compatible. Who isn't using the forge Dictionary for that one? and how can I convert the two types of ingots?
It's time to get started with armor for real. The tests are promising.
MattThePadawan: The mod works on 1.5.2 well enough. It won't be backwards compatible as much once I start adding things that require new Forge versions, but forwards will still work.
MinerMiah: Nice! I'm adding it to the OP.
Damien_Darkside: The second tier axe will have the ability to fell trees. Depending on how armor goes, I may be adding them in soon.
Zratrek: Since you keep asking, no.
mrbysco: That's odd. I'd blame OptiFine, but it's only happening to the books... I'll investigate.
ebeneezersquid: Gregtech uses Aluminium, while TConstruct use Aluminum. They aren't compatible for a reason.

aww yeah. im really excited about the armor.
by the way, one thing i have noticed is, that all of the casts, except the ingot cast seem rather redundant. you can always smelt your ores and alloys into ingots, and then use the regular stencils to craft tool and weapon parts with ingots as usual.
are there plans to have stencils not work with higher tier metals and alloys?
I am having a problem with my smelter. I found some gold to make the pattern blanks just fine, but now I am trying to make aluminum bronze, and no matter how many aluminum ore berries I throw in, nothing comes out. Also, the book doesn't say what the properties are for aluminum bronze tool parts.
Great mod thus far. I'm having a small problem. I was experimenting and trying to make steel by mixing a bunch of metal but I forgot that I was supposed to make the plates first. Now I have a bunch of metal in my smelter that wont leave.
How do I fix this?
Also, how do you make steel? I didn't find it in the recipe books.

I've had problems using the oreberries myself. To the point where i posted a sign on the smeltery saying "NO OREBERRIES" because i would be left with tiny bits of metal in the smeltery that i couldn't pour out to a full ingot. (any chance on getting a milibucket reading on the smeltery liquid gauge?) It SHOULD work in theory because 9? oreberries make 1 ingot.

You could try pouring metal into the glass blocks from TC as temporary storage. (though i'm not sure what you'd do with it after that) Perhaps you could pipe it out into buildcraft pipes and into the glass tanks. Or if you have enough of it, you could use a basin to make blocks. Use at your own risk though, i've never tried to put molten metal back into the smeltery, however you could pipe it onto a casting table with the ingot mold once you get one.
Only way i've been able to make steel is in the Railcraft blast furnace. I haven't seen a recipe in TC yet. Maybe it's not implemented yet?
----------
Maybe it's just me, but did the option to disable vanilla tools get removed from the config file? I'd love to use that config to remove crafting of vanilla tools.
Looking forward to the new armor additions, looks cool.
Thanks, c_death. I had to make a bunch of canisters, accidently made some bronze, don't have any use for it.
I don't see why there's no way to make steel without another mod. Do I need to start a new world with railcraft just to get steel?
What about if there was a mod that used steel, would that work or does it have to be railcraft?
Would this work? http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1331606-151v111-alpha-the-steel-age-mod-config-file/
Been loving this mod for awhile and run it on a small private server and I love the content you have added since 1.5.
I do have a question about the electric modifier though. Is it supposed to wear faster at higher mining speed?
Tested with a manyullyn pickaxe.
It seems to be 60 per cobblestone with no other modifier.
With one(50 redstone) it goes up to 86
With 2 it goes to 113
With 3 it goes to 140
Seems every 50 redstone it goes up 26-27
Also seems to be based on mining speed I realized this when I noticed cobalt used more than manyullyn.
Is this the only modifier that effects electric?
And I have to say that electric is near useless. Even at low levels with bronze using 46 with just electric you only get 217 blocks or iron at 40 gets you only 250. This is useless. By the time you get to the level where creating a energy system to charge tools is useful you can easily create tools with slime that have 700+(emerald brings it upto 1050 or diamond to 1200 or both for 1800) durability with mining speeds up to 15[bronze pickaxe with slime handle, paper binding] and testing this I used gold+diamond[again easily attainable] to get a extra modifier for electric. Electric at this point gives me 100 blocks.. where I already have 1800 blocks and easy access to the ore to repair it. Its a massive waste of time ingame to charge the 10000 eu just to mine 100 blocks or eve less if you go past 15 mining speed with higher tools.
I did read its only tier one atm and it looks like it is balanced against the drill from industrial craft but the problem is it is not balanced towards your own mod.
Breakdown: Easier, more effective and less time consuming to repair than charge, electric=useless.

...
Yes it uses more EU the higher speed you get. And to your "complaint" that electric tools are useless because "durability", use more batpack/lappack/more energy backpack. Try using an IC2 drill without a battery on your back and see how far you get
....
Heres a link to the texture pack if you would like to take a look and again thank you for making minecraft sooooo much better for me. http://bdcraft.net/f...nker-constructs
The textures are looking pretty cool, although I don't often play with Sphax.
I may be a complete noob, but in the screenshots, you have Brownstone and brownstone brick - is this TConstruct? If so, I haven't seen it anywhere!
It works great on 1.5.2

Does anyone know of a small mod that adds very little but includes steel? The one I posted crashed my game, probably because of the version.
