Hey, I was playing minecraft with this mod (and some others [no, no optifine]) and I got some crashes when I am reading the second book (the red one) and I click the arrow to pass the parte that explain diamond/emerald and I started to get crahes from the table where you craft the things from this mod after I tried putting a redstone in the reforge part, why do this happen? I can give you a crash report if necessary.
BTW, this is a great mod! But there are no tools of diamond :c
This bug was fixed a few versions ago as I recall. Try downloading the latest version and see if that solves your problem.
(From the dev changelog): 1.3dev.22 - Fixed redstone modifier crashing the game
i dont know how hard it would be, but i may have just a small request.
can you please include tin cans into your mod please? if youre not playing with other tech mods, it can be a pain to keep the smeltery filled with lava, just by using buckets. having stackable cans would make life a lot easier.
another idea would be, to include a block, that would allow the smeltery to run on solid fuel. but it would have to reach a certain heat level, before it can start smelting, and that it would work more efficient, the more it heats up. similar how a lot of the engines in the tech mods work.
maybe even allow to smelt down smooth stone to lava in the smeltery, by using solid fuel.
also, what really would be nice, was the ability to smelt down armor pieces, weapons and tools again. would give us a use for all that useless gold armor, weapons and tools you can sometimes find in treasure chests or from mob drops. this one would be extra tricky though, since the material return value would have to be linked to the item durability.
as for other possible content, youre probably already planning (maybe not):
- bows made of different materials.
- arrows
- crossbow (instead of charging and releasing it like a bow, it would take a while to be loaded, but the bolt would be ready to be instantly fired, upon right clicking. pretty much how you would expect a crossbow to work)
- crossbow bolts
a few people seemed to be concerned with the balance of the mod and how easy it is to aquire very good tools and weapons. maybe modifying tools and weapons should be connected to an xp cost.
TomLikesFries: That's odd... it's odd enough that I have a real reason to take down the 1.4.7 download. Away it goes~
Well sort of.
GooserFive: 1.4.7 does not have the smeltery or the books.
O bumber, if Red power 2 doesnt update soon would you consider making a updated version for 1.4.7, and i know you said previously that its on us if we dont update, but would be nice to still follow along with DW20 SP walkthrough and have this. If not thats ok too.

The 'normal' berry bushes are limited to the Overworld surface, including such delicious treats as Blueberry and the likes. Breaking these blocks will grant you a much smaller bush, which can be replanted on any dirt block. This minuscule foliage will grow in time, reaching maturity when it is once again a full-sized block. From this point, berries will grow on the branches, and can be picked with a simple right click.
Periodically, a new mini-bush will grow on the shrub, which can be broken off and planted elsewhere. If left to their own devices, bushes will grow to a maximum of 3 blocks high.
Oreberry's work somewhat differently. Found only underground, these treasures can be broken like their surface counterparts. They must grow 'in the dark' although what this means, I have no idea. I have mine underground in a fairly well lit area, and they produce just fine. Oreberry bushes do NOT grow additional buds, but will periodically grow berries that can be smelted down. I believe its a 9berry/1ingot ratio.
Special oreberries exist in the nether, growing like the overworld variety but having berries with unique effects! Gotta taste em all!
I'm using the latest dev version, and I seem to be having a bit of a problem. I didn't see this covered in the last couple pages, so I'll go ahead and ask. When I click to make a blank cast, the aluminum brass isn't hardening. It just sits there as molten metal and I can't pick it up. Is there something new added that I have to do, or is it a bug?
I've changed and broke a few things for the latest dev version. We have some nifty additions, such as being able to get brownstone roads by chiseling them, and we have some bugfixes like daggers actually having a default name. With 1.5.2 coming, now is a good time to break the API.
The chisel from InfiBlocks is still a bit wonky. It works, just don't mind chewing on it.
GooserFive: I will not be backporting any mods at all.
DarkSteamy: That's a really good description! Could I use it in one of the books in-game?
GrammieFi: Try again with the new dev version. I'll investigate to see if it's still broken in the meantime.
Daraku_Dakara: The berries are new; they didn't exist at the time of the video.
First of all, I gotta say I'm loving this mod. I really enjoy the custom tools and weapons. After playing with it for a while I've come up with a few suggestions that you are free to use/modify/ignore.
Change netherrack to nether brick. Currently netherrack is slightly better then stone, however when you look at stone compared to netherrack the netherrack seems much softer then normal stone. it breaks really easy and has very poor blast resistance.
A silk touch modifier would be nice. I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants silk touch on some of my tools.
Alloys seem like a fun thing to play around with. Perhaps make custom alloys? I'm unsure if this could even be done or not but it is a neat concept. for example lets say you add 2 iron into the smelter and then you add in 2 cobalt. the resulting mixture would have 50% the durability of iron and 50% the durability of cobalt. When certain metals are mixed in precise amounts a special alloy is made (such as bronze, alumite, manyullyn, ect.) This doesn’t that useful really but sounds like it could be fun.
Some way to break down tools and weapons. Of course there would be a loss for doing so but it would be nice to recover some lapis or other resources used to be reused later. Recycle old tools rather then toss them out.
For blocks that can be placed, such as stone, the shard could be slabs instead. Slabs are half a block anyway. (Obsidian slabs anyone?)
Well that's all I got for now. I look forward to seeing what you do with this mod, with or without my suggestions. Keep up the good work!
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Due to my snarky and sarcastic personality I can easily be seen as a jerk. If I've offended you in any way it was likely unintended.
Ok, I think that fixed it. Um... how many oreberries does it take to equal an ore block?
Or... not. I think what's happening is that it's not checking to see if it has enough to fill the table before it starts pouring out, so it does a partial cast. And since I'm not getting perfect proportions of copper to aluminum in there, it's getting confused about what's available to pour. Adding more aluminum when it thinks copper is what is available to pour doesn't seem to fix it. It still thinks copper, so it won't pour into the cast to finish filling it. So, the cast stays molten.
... also, is there a reason the smeltery won't smelt silver oreberries? That seems odd.
um I made a chisel head out of manyullyn and it didn't take the ingot. Also why does it look like i'm eating the chisel and when i use it i also get a no texture for the particles that it makes.

Oh wow I'd be honored! The berries were a little confusing at first, but I really do love this mod, and 1 extensive play period later I think I'm well on the way to divulging all of the tinkering secrets.
By all means, Copy, Paste, Edit my words as you see fit. Anything to help you with this fantastic mod! Looking forward to more!
Can I request a config for leather augmentation? Killing cow babies for leather just doesn't seem right. Also it seemed that some mod that I have installed changes cave generation in lower levels (a lot more caves near bedrock and less lava lakes), is it TC, some other mod or just my imagination?

Since when did baby animals drop anything? Leather (usually) comes from full grown cows... if that was implemented in this mod I would request that be changed as well...
As for 'cave generation', there is a mod that flattens bedrock (so one can actually mine around it...) and Better Dungeons which adds a layer of caves (and dungeons) above bedrock.
He does but now that you are like the 100th person to ask we are now going to have to wait until minecraft 1.6 to get it and then its only going to work for the horses.

No, I don't use optifine
Lord_vastrix: Putting the amount that a tool can change its durability sounds like overkill.
Cpranav007: At this rate, FTB won't update until 1.6 due to RP2.
Axolotine: The Z-fighting on tools is a vanilla bug that I haven't worked around yet. It'll be fixed sometime soon.

Direwolf neglected to cover the berry types in his videos.

Repeatable, on superflat, standard template.
You'd have to list your mods, to know that.
