Hold all of your horses. Yes they are working on it. No, there is no date. When there is information they will let you know.
mate listen the fact that the mod creator has to A ) Learn how to implement this mod into 1.10.X will be a challenge, B ) If he does learn how to do it he will rework everything just to fix the bugs, C ) the fact that the entire mod will be reworked mean that the community will need to wait at least 1+ years for the reworking factor, D ) I don't think that the mod creator will even update to 1.10.X due to multiple reasons involving his stances on modding, and E ) why is this mod so important for you to ask that question.
Sorry about the update silence. As much as I'd like to dedicate lots of my time to updating this, real life things really like to get in the way so progress has been slow. Rest assured though, the update isn't dead.
As for the prior discussions regarding one dimension for pockets, etc., we can't say very much about the implementation since it hasn't been fully decided. What we want though is, travel between pockets will (hopefully) only be possible through dim doors. There will be no mapping of coords in the pocket dimension to coords in the overworld, rather links can be created between any two points.
We're still very early in the rewrite, so these things may possibly change. If anyone wants to pop in and say hi / ask us questions, we have a discord channel here.
Suggestion: the bottom layer of Limbo should be solid Eternal Fabric, to prevent players from falling into the void. If it can be implemented, I don't think it should be possible to die at all in Limbo.
Here is something I've been working on over the weekend. Enjoy.
I mean I don't want to say I don't like the tesseract animation you made, it's very nice, but...
A tesseract looks very stable, very not like a fracture in space.
Well if you have some ideas of how I can improve. Feel free to give some. I just had some inspiration to get it working. The animation itself is just a first draft really. Even if I go with it. It needs a new better texture. The current one is just a placeholder one I made.
Well, it is nice to see some of your hard work on display... and it lets us know that you guys haven't abandoned this project... Thanks for your hard work guys. lets get this plugin up to 1.11.2, now shall we?
We did at some point in the progress step through a dimensional door and it spawned in a complete Nether Portal structure behind our backs.
The door render should have little to do with Nether Portals though.
Well the original modmakers said one of them made the trippy 3d effect by making some weird spaghetti code by combining a ton of rendering layers from some animation of a nether portal, and now that it works neither of them knows how to change it without breaking it.
Nice to know you figured it out.
They were also talking something about trying to make a branching fractal animation or something for the rifts, but they disappeared before finishing it, so it probably only exists as half-code.

That's probably more to do with the Nether Portal being the root of all dimensional travel. I had that happen when I left the Caverns dimensions with any other mods' teleporters. (Admittedly, it was also burying me in the ground.)
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.
Is there a way to adjust the items found in the random chests that have rotten flesh, bones, iron items, and occasionally player heads (such as fbt's head and Jaitsu's head) in them? The CustomChestLoot mod has been doing a good job dealing with about 80-90% of the chests, but these other chests don't seem to show up in any of the config files that CCL generates.
A few questions (mostly to users of previous versions of DimDoors):
For as far as I can see, originally there were three types of pockets:
Personal pockets (the white ones entered through a personal DimDoor)
Dungeon pockets (the black ones entered through a DimDoor or a Transient Door found somewhere in the world that contained all kinds of puzzles and DimDoors leading to other Dungeon pockets.)
Public pockets? (basically empty dungeon pockets)
Am I correct about that?
What were Gold DimDoors used for? Did those enter these "public pockets"?
Would there be any reason at all for "public pockets" and "dungeon pockets" to not be placed side-by-side the same dimension?
Well we had:
1. Normal dimensional doors (iron), that:
-if placed normally, created a blank pocket (public) that remained as a rift if broken
-if placed in a pocket, it created a sub-pocket 1 tier deeper than the original pocket
-if placed on a rift, it linked to the original target of the rift
-dungeon generated ones lead to deeper sub-pockets of the dungeons, deeper than tier 5 had a chance to lead to the ??? (the monolith dimension)
2. Return dimensional door (wooden), that:
-if placed normally, did nothing
-if placed inside a pocket or a dungeon, lead to a blank sub-pocket 1 tier higher than the original pocket, if it's on tier 1 it leads to a relative place in the overworld
-if placed on a rift, works the same as the iron one
-in dungeons the naturally generating ones always lead to tier 0 (overworld), if you were below tier 5 it could occasionally lead to another dimension instead
3. Random dimensional door (gold)
-leads to a random door or rift in the same dimension, doesn't use rifts
4. Personal dimensional door (quartz), that wasn't finished in the last version of the original mod (WIP),
-probably leads to a room linked to the player, so probably doesn't use rifts
-most of the code was added by a guy that updated it to 1.7.10, he also made the monoliths rectanges again (they used to be just eyes you could see through walls for a while)
5. Rift thingie (i forget the name), that creates a rift linking two locations
6. Rift remover, that removes a rift (but not it's other end) and all harmonising rifts (rift tears)
7. A rift key (WIP), noone knows what it was supposed to do, my guess is that you could use any dimensional door to open a portal to your persona dimension
Also the original modmaker said she was a bit worried about door recycling, since an iron door could be used to make infinite rifts, so she said she would make it so if anyone breaks an iron or wooden dim door, it would just drop a normal iron or wooden door, but placing normal doors on rifts would turn them into dim doors.
I forget if she did that in the last update or was just saying she was gonna though.
PS:Also I suggest it would be a good idea to make the rift maker a bit more expensive, as making a permanent instant travel portal is really usefull in any modpack, at least making it hard as a config option.
That personal pocket was indeed included in the MC 1.7.10 port. I abused the droopy out of it.
If gold doors linked randomly, then what is the chaos door for?
I don't remember the names, but the door that linked to a random rift in the same dimension was made from 2 golden doors and a rift thingie (enderpearl and 8 world thread).
The golden doors are just doors, but made of gold, they act just like normal iron doors but are gold.
Probably same with quartz doors, but that wasn't finished in the 1.64
There was also a rift blade, that allowed you to create a single use rift portal by right clicking a rift if you didn't have any doors on hand, also it teleported into melee range if you right clicked a mob from distance (max approx 5 blocks)
PS: The random doors (chaos doors?) didn't link to any rift and also didn't leave a rift when broken, it just teleported you to a random rift in the same dimension.
PPS: I think it would be cool if a chaos door (if that's it's name) could lead to any door, even normal ones, would make finding villages easier (if they have been generated), maybe as an upgrade to the chaos door?
PPPS: Aha I remembered! the monolith dimension is called limbo!
You would be sent to limbo if you completely woke up a monolith, attacked a monolith directly or died in a pocket dimension, all blocks (with exceptions) in limbo slowly turned into cobblestone, cobblestone turned to gravel, gravel turned into sand, and sand turned into unraveled blocks. At the bottom of the limbo were "pools" of red bloks that would send you to relative XY coordinates in the overworld, but not precicely.
I'd suggest to change it a bit, so that clear blocks like torches, carpet, string, etc. would turn to air instead of cobblestone, it would make more sense.
Also it would be cool if there was a type of block that was immune to limbo, so you could build with it (there's always a guy that wants to live in the most ridiculous places).
Also it would be cool if monoliths dropped something on death, since they can't be killed directly, so it's basically impowssible without a TNT cannon.

The focus is 1.10.2 for now while we finish the rewrite.
Did you manage to unravel the nether portal based spagetti code that is the open door portal renderer?
Well the original modmakers said one of them made the trippy 3d effect by making some weird spaghetti code by combining a ton of rendering layers from some animation of a nether portal, and now that it works neither of them knows how to change it without breaking it.
