Love the mod! Its fantastic both in concept and design. A massive base all within the confines of a single hut - Now thats interesting!
An idea I put forward is some form of lighting unique to the Dimensions - Similar to Glowstone in the Nether, but made for the confines and tunnels of the rifts. Ethereal lamps, perhaps? Regardless, excellent mod. Very utilitarian as well.
[A list of potential rooms to add in?]
-Archaic library maze (replete with traps perhaps)
-Floating grass islands over the void
-Stone vault (combo locked?)
-Rift villagers?
-Abandoned laboratory
I had it before I updated to 1.7.x. - Any potential updates soon to come? I know this is a large mod (made with massive amounts of effort no doubt), but any estimation would be appreciated. Having a Dimensional Doors 1.7.x world would prompt me to play much more.
This is one of my favorite mods. Its kinda hard to rank it but easily top 3. I was wondering if you need testers. I passed my MTA Software Testing Fundamentals test yesterday. It was at 70% which is the minimum passing score so I figure I could use a little more experience. I know its microsoft specific but test cases are test cases, right?

You should really update your server's version of Dimensional Doors to the latest recommended version. There is a bug in older versions that causes the extra DD data for dimensions to be wiped if MC crashes while it's saving

I may add someway to 'convince them to leave'. The notion of 'killing' really doesn't apply to monoliths.
Maybe you could knock them along the q-axis to make them fade out of existance?
Well this existance at least, people in the next existance won't be too happy about it.
Whatever mechanism is employed to "convince" them to leave should be a percent chance that it would succeed. Kind of like how a creepy spider next to you *might* convince you to leave... or it might just get squashed.

If you are a spider that's as big as a basketball, you have a preatty good chance of convincing him to leave.
It all depends on how powerfull you are.
Need some info for this new version where you must use world thread not ender pearls. I just like using the warp door functionality, but now have to go hunt for this thread. I have found 3 dimensional doors on the map so far, but none of them have doors, just rifts like this
I can not make warp or dimensional doors to place here, since I am unable to go into any dimensions to gather thread.
How do I proceed?
Also have a suggestion; add a config option to allow use of ender pearls. Off by default so this new method is in place, but able to be used for those that just want the warp door function.

I cheated in a warp door and placed on one of these rifts. Went through the door and was reminded why I stopped messing around with the dimensions and just stuck to the warp doors all the way back on 1.4.7; everything is black!
I placed some dirt blocks when I was in the dimension but did not see any when placed. TFG for WAILA which tells me there is a wooden door in front of me, so I can open it and return through. When I went through the door to the dimension a second time the dirt I placed was there. When I removed the dirt I could see a stone brick path. This was my first time seeing anything inside a dimension. Before I got too excited, I turned around but before I could turn all the way around, at about 90 deg everything went black again!. I turned back forward, not completing my 180 deg turn, and what was rendered before, the stone brick path, was no longer there.
Is this desired mod operation? Is this how it is supposed to work? Seems like a bug to me.

SenseiKiwi helped me on IRC, the problem with it turning black is Night Vision. No night vision = no problem
The rifts where portals should be is caused by mobs walking through them. A normal wooden door can be placed here to return the functionality of the portal

Quick question: How long would it be until 1.7.2 support, or does it already and I'm just missing it :0 ?
No ETA yet, working on it. Well, actually not working on it. I just finished adding locks, keys, and locking doors. After a bit of testing, I will upload it.
As of right now, when you create a key, it can create a single lock on a door. Once it has created a lock, then it starts behaving just like a key and can open that door only.
Honestly, each key functions more like a key ring. You can craft your key with another key to add the doors it can unlock to the doors that your key can unlock, letting you share doors and stuff. It should be fun, I think.

It is stupidly easy, but I also let you keep your inventory regardless of whether or not you have that gamerule active.
And don't forget people-- You can use regular doors for instead of actual dim doors if you already have a link. No need to spend ender pearls or anything on them. Just click the rift with a wooden door!

World thread has a configurable chance to drop anytime a rift destroys a block. Keep placing cobblestone, for example, in one of those rifts, and you'll get some. Both the amount of thread that you need, and the chance of a block dropping one are in the config.
Keys and locks sound cool, will they lock doors ir rifts?
I mean if it just locks a door, you can just replace one with a nornal door.
I winder how a locked rift would look like? A floating lock? A keyhole?
It would be awesome if it would be like the keyholes fron kingdom hearts.

On my first venture into a pocket dimension I was told "expect to die". There are traps that injure/kill to send to limbo and ones that shuttle you to limbo by dropping or pushing you into the void. There are monoliths that send you to limbo. Being sent there is preceded by a sizzling sound, which can give you a second to prepare.
I recommend the ability to fly, if that is allowed on your server. I use Adv genetics which gives the flying ability, but MPS or any jetpack would work as well. I also never go into a pocket dim without a "rod of return" from DartCraft, set to my base. When I get sent to limbo(read when, not if), I just switch to it in my hotbar and rt click, and I am sent back to my base before dying.
I have not died in a pocket dim/limbo yet

I am not seeing the config option to determine the chance a destroyed block drops thread. What is that called?
