1.6.4, we're on the build that CanVox did for Technic.
I don't know if this helps or not:
[08:20:53] <blood|work> if so hes sending a DimensionRegister packet with 114
[08:20:59] <blood|work> hes probably monitoring client logins
[08:21:02] <blood|work> no clue why he is doing that
[08:21:20] <blood|work> that is the only logical reason i can think of
[08:21:31] <blood|work> since the server is not going to do this

I know this has to be mentioned somewhere (or rather I shouldn't be the first to notice this), but the regular gold doors do not form double doors properly. There had been a bug in the MC code, and assuming door code was copied, needs to be updated to the mojang patched code (was something about them flipping textures instead of rotating them). in the latest 1.6.x version.
... block to extend my signature to infinity. I can now place as much text in this quote as I want. text outside of this quote block +BBCode for quote through the word my maxes out 2 lines, but look this signature fully extended is almost a page long.
Anyone willing to teach me Java? I wanna make some mods.
Ideas!: (Probably making the mod at least 20% cooler)
1) A special door that leads to multiple destinations using some kind of tool of Switch (kind of like Hows Moving Castle) 2) Redstone Doors. They transport a Redstone signal to their other connected 'node' either in a Pocket dimension or the Overworld.
I hope you like these ideas! Just some cool suggestions.
1. that sounds awesome, I love that movie. The only problem would be linking 4 rifts to one door, no idea if it's even possible, maybe with the "rift transportation" mechanic the creators mentioned you could place up to 4 rifts in a special "dimensional dial" block(4 slots for rifts, right clicking or a redstone signal wil cycle trough the rifts, if you place a door next to it the door will link to the selected rift, if you enter trough one of the linked rifts it would automaticaly switch to that rift, if you would break the dial the door would link to limbo).
2. That sounds usefull and easy to implement, it wouldn't even require a door, possibly just inputing a redstone signal to a rift could emit out of the other end? Or if that's too easy maybe you would need to place a special block on the rift?
Hello! May I use this mod in my (public) mod pack?
Since it is VERY annoying to go from Earth, to the moon and back to Earth again (Galacticraft Mod), I would like to use the mod in the pack. Link to the Modpack.

If you just want teleportation from point A to point B, perhaps look into Mystcraft? Linking books are a bit easier than the stable rifts.
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?
If you just want teleportation from point A to point B, perhaps look into Mystcraft? Linking books are a bit easier than the stable rifts.
Yeah. And also I've never played the 1.6 version of Dimensional Doors before, and when I installed it, I could go into the dimension only for the first time I was logged onto the server.
An update to my issue. I think I found the source of the problem.
My dimensional door works fine until a server restart.
So the thing goes like this:
1.- My brother starts a singleplayer game in a fresh new map and open it to LAN so I can join.
2.- We make a small settlement in creative.
3.- I place a dimensional door to create my pocket dimension and go inside.
4.-We both get in and out several times to check it is working fine.
5.- I build a Thaumcraft 4's Infusion chamber inside.
6.- I get out of the pocket dimension, make a map backup and we both log out to go to eat.
7.- We come back. My brother starts a singleplayer game in the same map and open it to LAN so I can join.
8.- I go into the pocket dimension and crash with "java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Could not get provider type for dimension 8, does not exist".
So the crash is related to server restart in a LAN game.
Heya, I looked through the config file, and a few pages of this thread and I couldn't find what I want, hence this post. Sorry if it's been addressed and I missed it.
This mod seems to be saving its data rather often. I would like a config file option that would let me set the interval that it saves at, as it's doing nothing but causing lag at the moment. I've basically not interacted with this mod in any way on my current world, but my console is spammed with "saving~" entries anyway, and when that happens (my computer is junk) I get the generic Minecraft "memory connection overburdened ... did the system time change~?" (minor) warning.
I'm running 2.1.1RC1 on 1.6.4, just in case that helps.
Thanks for any reply~
Gonna have a blast when this is finished/stable/robust/bug-free.
We seem to be having some crashing issues similar to Wylker.
We've recently restarted our server with a modified 1.0.6 Horizons FTB mod pack with a number of other mods, including DimDoors and Twilight Forest. The only ID conflict we had upon initial starting of the server was the gold door, ID 4080, conflicting with Twilight Forest. We changed the ID number to 4078 on server and client files, and the server ran fine.
Heres where our issues get a little strange and hard to figure out. We used MC Edit, but I don't think it is at all related to the issue- the chain of events is just there for a complete description. We've had numerous issues with our server restart, and finally thought we had them ironed out when we encountered this.
We used MC Edit to bring in an area from our old server. Server ran fine. Crashing issue described by Wylker was noticed around 15 hours later (we have a small server). We assumed it was related to the imported area, reverted to a backup, and went in and deleted all potentially offending (nonvanilla) items in chests that were causing crashes. Server started up fine.
Same issue again today; server is running, noone can connect, the client shuts down when trying. Single player works fine. I assume it happened around the same time as the back up (for instance, the backup was created, 10 hours later crashes occurred, backup was reverted to, 10 hours later crashes occurred). Similar to Wylker, nothing changed in any particular pocket dimension; as it is a new server, I think I have been the only one to even explore a dungeon.

It seems to me Corbent, Wylker, and I all have the same issue; Corbent's just appears a little different since he is on a LAN game.
Unrelated issues I have encountered:
The doorways on the server are invisible on the client. We can travel through them, but cannot see the actual doorways until we have returned through them.
Additionally, I can't seem to get the config file edited for the server. The server would crash after changing the config, no matter what the changes were. I wanted to enable hardcore limbo, adjust the limbo return area to 1500 blocks, and disable keeping inventory in limbo.
If you just want teleportation from point A to point B, perhaps look into Mystcraft? Linking books are a bit easier than the stable rifts.
Not really, in mystcraft you need all kinds of stuff like ink mixers, book ninders, link pannels, etc. Also as far as i know you can't link a place in the same dimension with a book. Also books only teleport you one way, so you need to craft two.
As for dimensional doors all you need is 2 enderpearls, 4 iron and 12 wood. You craft a rift signature with one enderpearl and iron, link the two places with a rift, than craft a wooden warp door and place it on one of the rifts. Done.

Console spam? This used to be a bug in an earlier version, I thought it was fixed, maybe something reenabled it?
You mean the debug console? Well it shouldn't be happenning anyway, are you using golden dim doors or other chunkloaders?
debug console, yes. That's what I meant.
No and no. My mod list (about 45~ mods) probably has some sort of chunk loading block in it, but they'd be craftable and I haven't crafted any - it's basically a new world. I haven't done anything to the config, nor crafted anything for this mod (golden doors or otherwise).
This ^ is a pretty good example of what I mean. My old, crappy machine can barely keep up with Minecraft alone, so saving DimDoors data every ~45 seconds seems a little ridiculous, yea?

^ = me standing around for a few minutes doing nothing.
I would think this wouldn't be normal intended behaviour, but in case it is, I'd love a config option to make it less frequent. If this is not normal intended behaviour, consider this a bug report (for "2.1.1RC1" / Minecraft 1.6.4).
Edit3: I just realized that I was forgetting vital information. I have "DimensionalDoors-1.6.2R2.1.1RC1-10.zip", which I now see is like 17 builds old. I'm gonna go get a new build, and see how things go. My posts can probably be ignored (unless I come back complaining more), but I hate it when people delete posts, so I'm leaving these here.
Thanks for taking the time to try to help me troubleshoot my problem, codebracker0. <3

It's not actually saving anything... It just reports that it's saving because that's the period during which saving could occur. By the way, Minecraft does save during that time. That's what triggers that Dimensional Doors should save data for any dimensions that have changed. But since most of the time they're not changing, nothing happens. I'll just remove the message.

Actually, now that I think about it, could you put the exception up on pastebin? And, to be sure, your server is running MC 1.6 or 1.5?
1.6.4, we're on the build that CanVox did for Technic.
I don't know if this helps or not:

Anyone willing to teach me Java? I wanna make some mods.
1. that sounds awesome, I love that movie.
If you just want teleportation from point A to point B, perhaps look into Mystcraft? Linking books are a bit easier than the stable rifts.

Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?

Done.
PS: what do you mean by stabile rifts?
Console spam? This used to be a bug in an earlier version, I thought it was fixed, maybe something reenabled it?
Oh! Sorry, not the chat console. (assuming you misunderstood me)
I use MultiMC, so I see the crash logs before they're crash logs. I meant the crash log.
(was super tired making my last post) xD
