So, I tried doing what you said. I re-downloaded the windows file and chose "Install Client". I then opened Minecraft and scrolled down to the very bottom of the versions. I had two Forge options, 1.8 and 1.9, both of which were deleted from my computer. The file simply installing. Now, I tried doing the same thing with 1.7.2 and 1.6.4. When I tried to install those files, I got the message that I first need to manually play those versions of the game. What on earth does that mean? If you can't do any more to help me, I am totally fine and am not perturbed in the slightest. Again, I want to thank you for sticking with me for this long.

It appears as though you're installing Forge to a copy of a vanilla instance you don't have set up yet. To run 1.6.4, 1.7.2 or whatever, you have to create an instance and play it once (just getting to the MC title screen is enough, you can quit the game after that). THEN you can install Forge to that, and it should make a copy that will say something like "1.7.2-Forge-xxxxxxx.jar" and you can install mods in that instance. Bear in mind that the current LotR uses 1.7.10.
Here is where I usually suggest you try out the MultiMC launcher, which makes these things easier-- you create an instance, select MC version , click on Install Forge and it gives you the list of Forge versions for that MC version. Then you can drag and drop mods into the mod tab.

How ever he is using windows 10 and I don't remember MulitMC working with it. Also what he said is true you do have to run a Minecraft version like 1.6.4 before you can then install a forge version for it. Oh and did you ever get 1.7.10 to work?
I don't know. There isn't a way. What's happening is, LotR put the table in ID 255, but either another mod seems to be passing bad values for vanilla blocks by only using the low byte, OR #FF is the default for placement when the ID is not specified somewhere.
The only solution I know of is to stop using the mod that does this, and report it to them. I've already told Ztones, so you need to find what mod is doing it to you.
Also, I've found another bug-- NEI-LotR mod crashes whenever you try to get any recipe, even a vanilla one. Apparently the new poisons are giving the mod trouble. (Solution: wait for NEI-LotR to update.)
I confirm the error from the block ID. The world is generated incorrectly. For example, instead of ore deposits in my veins from Rohan tables.

Mevans you're awesome! this is mod is epic, I loved it so much i featured it on my latest minecraft mods weekly as my main spotlight! here's a link if you want to check it out
Try restarting your game. If that doesn't work, then your computer probably can't support the mod. My computer can, and already has, but it stopped at the same spot that yours did when I tried Pixelmon. Hope this helps. Bye.
I was wondering if I would be able to join the modding group or maybe offer suggestions? I wouldn't be available all of the time but I would be on gmail a lot. Just wondering because I have som (In my opinion) cool ideas.
Also I am wondering what mod maker you use. Because I am a nooby coder and use mod makers and MCreater isn't the greatest.
I was just wondering how the LOTR mod achieved to command units and hire units, because I am reasonably interested in commanding an army and have the move anywhere on the LOTR map.
When I loaded a world with the lotr mod installed it replaced dirt with Rohirric Crafting Tables, Please help.
This was already dealt with earlier in this thread. Basically you have another mod which interacts with LotR in a way that causes this. Usually the other mod does something wrong and is to blame.
First off, 10/10. This is a truly fantastic mod. It's definitely the best I've ever tried.
I have a question about running this mod as a multiplayer server. If a player goes to X city or village and kills the villagers/guards/whatever and mines out some buildings...does any of it respawn? I assume buildings probably don't respawn, but what about villagers and guards? I just want to know how (or if) I need to deal with griefing.
Keep up the good work and thanks for this awesome mod!
With an increasing number of people interested in playing Lord of the Rings Minecraft, I thought it would be the perfect time to make a few tutorials directed towards the absolute beginner. If you are having trouble getting The Lord Of The Rings mod working, this is the video for you!
Thanks a lot,

I've been with this mod for over three years now and I've enjoyed every update, but it's been on 28.2 for an unusually long time now. Is there a lot of content (hopefully a main questline) coming in the next update, or is Mevans busy with other things?

Thank you - I will certainly try MultiMC. I will also try to download v1.7.2 for Forge.

A mod of this scale would never use a mod maker. Actually no mods use mod makers.

I can't wait till the official release of this mod. It looks so epic, can't believe it has been in beta for so long.
If you're interested in an awesome, white-listed, pure vanilla server, consider applying!
