All I can say is.... amazing. I prefer exploring to building in vanilla minecraft, and you just made my day even better (apart from amazing youtube videos being released, but that doesn't matter) . AWESOME JOB! And also, do the Orcs and wargs who spawn at night attack you even if you have 0 alignment (What I mean is, are they just hostile no matter what)? And do they not attack you if you are on the - alignment? Just wondering, xD
In the far future there will hopefully be other regions of Arda! The northwest of Middle-earth will be added first, then Rhûn and Harad, and then eventually the Dark Lands and the Lands of the Sun (although, do they still exist in the Third Age? Not sure about that...) and Aman will probably be located in a different dimension.
Although as we have discussed on this thread it will probably not be 1:1 scale due to technical limitations.
Make sure that your server and client LOTR config files (found in the config folder) are identical.
What a good idea!
Edit: Check the Facebook page, I made a post about both of your suggestions.
Thanks Mevans! (already thanked you on the facebook page.) And what about poisoned arrows?

His sense of duty was no less than yours, I deem. I wonder what his name was, where he came from, and if he really was evil at heart. What lies or threats led him on this long march from home? Would he not rather have stayed there... in peace? War will make corpses of us all. - Captain Faramir
So I just got attacked by an orc in Mordor at alignment -34, and that gave me an idea. When an orc attacks you in Mordor when you're evil, or if you're evil and attack an orc for whatever reason, there's a chance of another close by orc coming and attacking that orc, and so on and so forth, until several orcs have come together and are just randomly beating the crap out of each-other. This would match both the books and movies, and would just be plain awesome to start a Mordor riot. This idea is half formed, and may be difficult to code, but hey, not all of them are winners.

Hi Mevans, i was thinking about the orcs running away if you are +500 alignment, and i thought that it wouldnt make much sense. My idea was: before an orc decides if he should attack or run away, he would check if the player was over 500 alignment, then, if there were any more good mobs around, he would add those points to the 500 (each mob could have his own personal allignment. ex: elf=50 and elven cavalry=150), after that he would add the points of all evil mobs around him plus himself (ex: 500 - (5*10) =0) if the math would work out so the number was higher than 0, they would run, if the number is below or equal to 0, they attack. and of course if they are hired mobs they would always attack.
I like that idea! But only for orcs in the wild.

Is there any way that we can have a feature to reduce the size of the bar at the top of the screen? I would suggest that you could have an options menu to allow the user to scale the bar and to also toggle whether or not it is viewed on the screen.

I think the amount of mobs that spawn is a bit ridiculous at the moment. Especially when travelling through gondor or rohan where they are so packed in that you can't see the ground (exaggeration). Also at night when orcs etc spawn they are too dense as well. I think it would be better if the mob spawning was much more sparse in the wild, and when in places like gondor or rohan was restricted to within a certain radius of generated structures. The only exception is mordor which is supposed to be crawling with orcs, but for the general world the mobs shouldn't be packed shoulder to shoulder. After all the fellowship didn't cut a bloody swath nonstop into mordor. There was a large amount of just walking, day or night. Also another neat addition would be new wild animals to use for food such as deer or something. Since you are going for a pseudo-realistic feeling it doesn't make sense for there to be cows and pigs just chilling everywhere since they are domesticated animals. This is just my opinion and I understand that it is a game and needs to be fun, but I still think it would retain its fun value if the mob spawns were reined in a little.
This is AMAZING! My brother and I started a server with it today, but although the mod appears to be working (we can go into creative and see all the items), if we try to place, craft, or drop anything it disappears, so we can't even get to middle earth. HELP!!!

Don't know if this has been brought up before but it seems that macerated ores (dusts) can't be smelted in a dwarven forge, it would be cool if you could add support for that but I don't know how hard that would be.
Also it seems I can't place mugs down in the world. Was that feature removed or am I being a noob?

That seems fun...I like this idea...Riots in Mordor! Anarchy!! Oh, Mevans, are you going to have, when the Harad and Rhûn biomes are added, Easterlings and Haradrim spawn rarely in Mordor? Because in the books there are men in Mordor..
