Alright it worked wouldnt be the first ime iv used a work around thank you for that now i can start putting it into my proccessing plant for ores since i use liquid metals mod i get about 3 times more ingots per ore so this storage will help.Pulling out is the easy part its the putting in i rely needed lol. i followed/bookmarked this mod so ill be keeping a close eye on it for sure. And again thank you for the help and for a great mod i can't wait to see what is added into the mod for the future.(specificaly the auto crafting >=). )
P.S. Would it be possible to allow the interface to extract more then one item at a time? like say a stack of 64 at once?
The purpose of the ram, is its storage used by the interface modules. Its simply a requirement of how the interface works, you really don't need to put anything in it manually, the system will generally handle it all for you, but its there so you can see whats being stored in ram, rather than in the cells.
Its illuminated a number of problem areas that I'll be working on fixing for my next release, as well as a 2 new goodies.
My planned set of changes for the next release are.
Removing Ram Block, and using the Interface as ram instead. This has a number of benefits, from being less confusing to improving performance, its also MUCH easier to see whats going on.
Adding A Gui to the controller, to inform you of the status of the network, this will also be used for the wireless feature.
Modifying Gui for Interface, to better show the currently exported inventory / configured exports.
Improved compatibility with Logistics Pipes / RP2 on interfaces.
Improved Compatibility with Logistics PIpes / RP2 on chests.
Wireless Access Terminal and Wireless Access Points.
Hopefully this update will help smooth over some of the rough edges users have been experiencing with compatibility and understanding, as well has provide a fun new feature.
If you any questions, or feed back please let me know!
Eeeeerrrrrr when I log out and log back in my high density storage arrays empty themselves. (at least in single player, havent tested in multiplayer.) This only seems to affect them if theyre in a drive and server and etc- just putting them in me chests seem to be fine.
okay further testing seems to have changed my previous theory- every time i log out and log back in, my hard drive resets itself to just the bunch of high density storage arrays i put in there when i started, all blank. i put 28 in when i started for testing purposes, and then i went and took them all out just now, and now that i log back in theyre all in again, in addition to being in my inventory.
In addition to this bug report, I'd like to be able to have seperate arrays next to each other; so i can have multiple servers of items in the same area, one for different materials? i dont want to have sort through all my stuff i put in to find my iron sometimes; just being able to color the wires or something would be effective.
Lastly; I think this would get more notice if you put it in the main mods section instead of content packs. loving the mod so far aside from the whole glitchyness I mentioned above though! (glad I'm testing this in my cheaty worlds first.)
Edit: since its probably important; heres the mods i have installed: optifine, nei, treecapitator, rei's minimap, buildcraft, valve pipes, enchanting plus, enderstorage; extrabiomes, ic2, metallurgy, railcraft, redpower, thermal expansion, gregtech, tubestuff, steves carts, thaumcraft, traincraft, and wildcaves 3. I had my server thing set up in a world anchored chunk, with a golem loading items from an enderchest into an interface (items supplied by an enderpouch i had with me while mining/exploring). i had a drive full itemwise but now they seem to have vanished. thats all the relevant info i can think to mention.

I'll consider adding something like this in the future, having multiple networks is easy unless you have a ton of stuff right next to each other, and I know the feeling of having to contently re-arrange things because they are too close XD.

I posted it there first, they moved it here, maybe because I originally required BC, not sure.
I honestly like the storing system how it is. But there is a search option in the terminal just type in iron and it will pull it up for you jus like using NEI or request pipe(log pipes). I am currently using 2 networks one for farms and one for my factory both terminals are on each side of the house so it isnt interfering in a way i can understand wanting a more compact network but i like how this mod has given me the option of filling my house with more then just space holders =)
Yeah, I'm usually not a stickler for compactness but now that I've got the scheming part of my brain going theres no stopping it.
I've been having some trouble with the usability/controls on these a bit; they don't respond properly to shift-dropping (though I'm not really sure if thats a commonly known trick; if you're at a chest or related thing and you pick up and item and hold shift to drop it into the inventory, it will move as many items as it can of that type from either your inventory to the chest or vice versa, depending on wher eyou dropped it). Its just easy to, if you're moving a whole bunch of items around say, to move alot of an item out of a server or me chest or whatever by repeatedly shift-clicking on it, just get a bunch of stacks, but its slow going trying to get it back in.
Also, rolling the mouse wheel while over an item makes the item move too or from your inventory I think? But it happens in such an entirely unpredictable fashion its nearly useless and just causes confusion when I'm trying actually scroll up or down. Sometimes when I scroll the items draw from my inventory to the ME chest, sometimes it draws them from the ME to my inventory, sometimes it does it from the ME to the cursor, the direction i scroll doesnt seem to have an effect... maybe I'm just messing up somewhere and getting confused, I can't say for sure.

Shift Clicking should work, if you have a specific instance that is not functioning properly let me know, the Mouse Wheel weirdness is actually caused by Inventory Tweaks, which provides that functionality. I'm trying to figure out a way to disable it because its quite messed up, and doesn't work properly with this mod.
Normal shift-clicking works, but shift-dropping (which moves all stacks of an item) is problematic. however, most people dont seem to know about shift-dropping (as evidenced above.) Its a minor difference and shift-dropping doesnt always work properly even in normal chests, but usually does.

That feature too is part of InvTweaks, which unfortunately it doesn't play well with my mod. since my containers do not use standard inventory configurations I don't think they are going to work unless one or the other mods get modified to support the other. I'd be happy to implement something if InvTweaks had an API to improve this feature, but at the moment it doesn't, and I'm not sure if I could do anything without one.
Edit: I looked it over, and its possible to simply implement this feature on my end, I might try to add it at some point once the big stuff is out of the way.
Cool! I'm not sure what inventorytweaks is, though- I don;t have that installed. Or is that something you're using? Just makin sure I understand.
Hmm, I guess another mod your using provides those features then, I figured it was inventory tweaks since its very common and I know that I have InvTweaks which gives me those same features, ( at least I think so, lol ).
When in vanilla my game doesn't have those features so it must be some mod.
i dont know if this is your mod or log pipes or another mod im using in the setup but...

Its crashing in the interface, when its being used by log-pipes.
This should be fixed in the new release.
Let me know if there are problems, or questions, also, Remove your ram modules before upgrading.
The next content update will most likely take longer, as I had tons of free time from New Years, and that is unfortunately over.
But I'll try to update as time permits.
