Found a bug:
If you right-click on a Fence (Wooden/Nether) Post or a Wall (Cobble/Mossy) Post, it will take your Painter's Flower Pot, but it will not be placed.
Edit/Note:
Btw, I am using the Minecraft 1.4.6 version of this mod... o.o
And I have some requests:
• Make it where you can place the Pots ontop of Fence Posts and Walls (I tried already, which lead me to find the bug). I know that Vanilla Pots do not allow you to do this, but I think it would be nice to have my Gardens Walkway be lined with potted plants without having the walkway narrowed down because I had to place down blocks for the pots to be eye-level.
• Add Sugar Cane as a plantable plant in Pots. One thing that I always love has the Lucky Bamboo plants, and I was excited when I thought you could plant them in Vanilla pots but was disappointed quickly. I tired it with the pots from this mod to no avail , but I hope they do get added... Maybe make the viable planting soils for it be sand, dirt, grass?
Edit:
I honestly don't understand why people are already updating their mods to 1.4.7 even though it is not releashed yet, and plus the fact that Jeb stated the 1.4.6 mods will work for 1.4.7 (but not vais verser)... :/

Interesting. I haven't tried that, but I have tried planting them on sides of trees and stuff - which of course didn't work at the time I tried it. Will look into it.

I expected 1.4.7 to become official given the prerelease has been out forever (and I've been using it). But like you've said, the version change works both ways. Does the latest not work in 1.4.6?

I took a stab at adding sugarcane compatibility, but for some reason it's unlike all the other blocks. There's no doubt it can be added, but it will take me a little while. For walls, it shouldn't be too hard to add. Thanks for your suggestions!

Well, it was with v1.0, just updated to v1.1 for Minecraft1.4.6, so I don't know if it is still present... I'll have to test to see...

Well, I was told that mods from 1.4.7 will not work for 1.4.6, but 1.4.6 mods will work for 1.4.7... o.o I have no real clue though, and I am kinda of afriad to try it myself... But I do know that the 1.4.7 versions of Forge will not support alot of mods running the 1.4.6 (Thaumcraft for example)... o.o

Ahh, will I am glad you tried it anyways. ^-^
And thank you for taking my Suggestions. :3 Hope to see them come out soon. ^w^
It now supports sugarcane and I added the ability to place pot on anything torches can be placed on - this also fixed the bug that stole the pot when a placement attempt on top of a block failed.
As for now, the only other thing I can think of is integrating pot lighting back in somehow.. but I'm out of ideas otherwise.

When you say Pot lighting, what do you mean? o.o
One thing I think would be neat is if plants that produce light (aka Brown Mushrooms (Vanilla), Ciderpearls/Simmerleafs/Silverwood Saplings/Silverwood Leaves (Thaumcraft 3)) and such would produce light when planted... :3 I know you had that done before, but I am not sure if you brought it back or not...
Another thing you could do is add another type of pot(s)... :3 Like Large Pots, that are about the size of a single chest, and would let larger plant go one display (aka Cacti, Sugar Cane, Leaves, Saplings) on a larger scale, and maybe even if filled with water, acts as a Water Source block for nearby farmland (this would make alot of man-powered farms and Gardens look nice, as the person could have a small, contained water source that they wouldn't have to worry about spilling and destroying crops, or having a hole of water that they can fall in.) :3 The recipe could be much like the one for the small put, but instead of Clay Balls, you use Clay Blocks. :3
Also, I do request that Mushrooms can be planted on regular Dirt along with Mycelium... With how it is right now, I would have to do hours of searching in order to plant a single mushroom in a pot, plus it make it semi late game because you would also have to have a Silk Touch Tool... I know that Mushrooms grow faster on Mycelium and can only survive in strong light on it, but it makes it exceedingly hard to plant a simple mushroom in a nice looking pot... D:
And btw, if you need idea, just ask, I am sure I can come up with alot if you give me time.

I've taken a stab at it a couple times but it refuses to play nice. The solution I had the first time worked only partially.

I have to admit, I'm thinking "small" for now. When the potted plant escapes the boundary of the 1x1x1 block space, it's weird. I have yet to come up with a good idea for a different pot type. I've been considering wall-placeable flower boxes.

To this day I have yet to come across a mooshroom islands biome.. perhaps you're right.
I really like this because now I can plant potted plants on Fence Posts from Railcraft and Vanilla!
Next thing on my todo list now though is...
Adding Texture Support for this mod and my favorite texture pack, Forgotten Lands (of which I am the main (and almost only) contributor of mod texture support...)!
This mod is truly something special that modded MC desperately needed. Will highly reccomend to friends.
There's a couple of suggestions I'd like to drop in here, which revolve around more cross-mod compatibility. If this is something you want to avoid, don't mind me o:
1 - Make Melons and Pumpkins pottable much like the leaves. It would be quite dinky, methinks.
2 - Make it possible to plate pots with Rubies / Sapphires from Redpower.
3 - This ones probably too advanced, but possibly try and make the Industrialcraft plants (Stickreed, Redwheat etc) pottable?

Firstly, thanks! I too enjoy using this mod... even though I haven't crafted any in my new 1.4.6 world yet.
1. I've thought about it.. but they would be so tiny, or tall and thin. I guess it's not dissimilar to cactus behavior in the pot though. I'm not too familiar with the side-facing system in Minecraft, however.. and I know people would expect that for the pumpkin face.
2. Not a bad idea. I'm still twiddling my thumbs on adding mod-specific compatibility.
3. Those are crops, right? Crops are a sticky subject because the pot is so tiny, and can't actually grow crops - coupled with the fact that most crops start from seeds. It would probably take a bit of effort.
Oh also - Netherwarts are unsupported. Could you change that?
Also a crop. I may make special cases for a few vanilla crop items like wheat and netherwart, and whatever else I may be forgetting. But as far as planting anything in seed form, probably not going to happen anytime soon.

Kinda disappointed about that... But understandable... I will just have to wait on a nice looking Potted Tomato plant on my kitchen's window seal... :3

Alrighty. Don't take my whining about what this mod doesn't have degrades anything about what it does. This is a VERY well-made mod. Thanks for everything you've done

Where you place a glowing plant and it emits light, but in the pot.

Plant Life, Trees, Flowers, Food and Farming! Pam's mods.
Granted, the pot still doesn't glow like you had wanted. I'm brainstorming on ways to reincorporate it.
