I avoided using the harness (as with any flying modded stuff) because I find flight to be gamebreaking. But visually and mechanically it was awesome, I loved it.
i dont find it gamebreaking at all. the armor on that thing was rather low, and you needed really strong enchantments, to make the flight actually fast. and you had to constantly refuel it.
it was great with boots of the traveler, with haste 3, and haste 3 on the harness.
but diamond or even iron armor with strong enchantments is comparably strong. youre basically immune to damage from most mobs.
edit.: so azanor. any teaser on what youre currently working on?
I'll agree that flight in minecraft with some mods is way overpowered. But the harness is really keeping me interested in TC3. You have to keep good resource management with it anyways; The jetpack, from what I understand, you just need to throw a solar helmet on and you're flying. The harness, on the other hand, you learn to keep in reserve a bit more. Works great with mystcraft ages and the nether. You fall, you catch yourself, get back to ground.
That said, Azanor, could we possibly get a keybind for the harness? Using the jump key twice gets a little iffy sometimes.

You're doing an awesome job Azanor but I have to say that the old arcane alembic's look fitted minecraft style much better. the new ones seem way too detailed and out of place.
I'm not up to date with the know-how of Thaumcraft 4's working, so I dunno if these materials are even being kept in. Just thought this would be an interesting addition to the magic-filled apocalypse that Thaumcraft already is. =3

Hey azanor, what is the radius the pedestals have to be placed in around the infusion alter in Thaumcraft 4? Because I'd like to make a giant room for it where i have to run around to make sure everything is working.

During one of Direwolf20's videos, Azanor stated that the pedestals needed to be within a 12 block radius of the infusion altar to work.

Yup. Not Azanars fault that **** Magica is a little messy when it comes to the interface (though it's still awsome.)
Try asking the developer of **** Magica the same question and see if he'll make it so his spells function with the wand caps, it'd be far easier than what you're suggesting.
here is a thought about excess essentia from the destillation process.
maybe there could be a way, to break down essentia of compound aspects thats stored in jars, into essentia of basic aspects. so we can reuse them for crafting in the crucible, or infusion crafting.
maybe even recombine these basic aspects in an alchemy block to different compound aspects.
that way we wont have the same problem as in thaumcraft 3, and end up with 5 or 6 jars full of the tree essentia from cooking up items, that we dont need for anything.
this is also, where piping can come back into play. to connect the required alchemy blocks at short range. imagine you have a wall with alchemical devices, to break down and recombine essentia, that are connected with pipes. while golems are responsible to carry the stuff across further distances.
First, let me say this not only makes MineCraft fun for me, but I still have fun in just singleplayer. I hope one day Mojang will combine this into the vanilla core.

Sorry if this has already been talked about (tl;dr 706 pages), but:
I'd love to see Thaumcraft portals/dimensions.
^- A light 'thaum world', full of trading villagers and lots of safe activities. These would yield unique items and aspects. Full of passive wisps, roaming golems and lots of pure nodes.
^- A dark 'thaum world', full of aggressive wisps, angry zombies and plenty of dark nodes. These would yield unique items and aspects. High flux, bad weather and weakness all about. Lots of dark mobs and terrain from TC2. Perhaps even a giant wisp boss, created when a dark node reaches 1,000 vis?
Both of these would be used for end game research and items. Light research would yield passive healing and such effects, while the Dark research yields destructive weapons and pre-nerf tools.
