azanor, how much of a chance is there, that you bring the thaumic furnace from thaumcraft 2 back?
im not even talking about the proc chance for extra resources (though that would be nice), but just having a furnace with 9 input and 9 output slots seems pretty awesome and convenient early game. it can save a lot of room in our homes.
if you fill it up with some really good fuel like alumentum, you can just throw all your ores from your mining trip in there and go about your business, until its finished smelting.
it just looked really nice, compared to the usual wall of furnaces we normally set up in our bases, when we start out our games.
later on the infernal furnace would be more interesting, since it runs without using fuel.

I had an idea about a use for alumentium. maybe there could be a new wand focus that fires an exploding projectile? I know i'd love something like that
There were these things I forgot the name in a past thaumcraft, you throw them and they would make a vortex. I think it was a singularity? I honestly don't know, anyway a foci that would take alumentiunm to craft to do that would be cool. It would take a fair bit of chaos to cast though. Balance everyone, balance.

Arcane Singularity is the item you're thinking of.
I love the node box idea,would be useful for moving nodes,obviously,but also for decoration if the material used is transparent,like a kind of warded glass,imagine an exposition room with every kind of nodes in those "jars",if thats done,I'll be able to open the first thaumaturgy museum

for the portable hole.. yea, i'll join in with the voices saying that unless theres a quickslot in the focus box, i'd rather it as an item- that thing always ended up on an easy to access slot of my invintory, and for the lols occationally i'd even use it as a weapon.. was just WAAY too much fun. that said, quickslot that focus box, and i got no complaints.
alternitivly, if it does end up as a focus without a quickslotted focus box, i'll probably just have a dedicated wand for the portable hole

just because the old texture doesnt fit anymore, doesnt mean the concept has to be dropped. give it the texture of the thaumcraft 3 arcane stone block, with the front of a vanilla furnace, and its fine.
the idea, is just that its a convenient early game block. no more searching through a wall of furnaces, to see if they are still fueled, or which one you used to smelt that glass.
Do I need to add a large tooltip somewhere when you have a TT item in hand now...?
Well, with TT2 and TC4 being developed side by side and both are currently closed to the public it's very easy to mix up things from both mods. If anything I'd take it as a complement cause that means the things you add blend so well into vanilla Thaumcraft.

i keep making the same mistake, i think "oh, i've given them a few months, surely it'll be fixed by now" THAT is why i seem to ALWAYS be angry to some of you, my advice is to get the lead out.
there were nice things here, until the mod author threw a tantrum.
(This part only matters if nodes still release energy out into the world;) What if warded glass/blocks/other materials could contain a node so as to limit others' ability to sap energy from it, so that one could have their own personal node which others could sap or infect with taint and in doing so cause undue grief to the person who owns it?
(This part can work for anything) Also, for moving nodes, maybe putting them in some sort of multiblock chamber (Looking at warded, preferably) and having another built elsewhere, which would force the node to exist in two places at once, until one of the structures was destroyed, causing it to disconnect from the network, and leave a weaker/unstable/etc. negative (usually) node in place. This could also be used for combining nodes, along with variations of the structure merely causing one node to siphon into another, thereby increasing it's capacity, contents, and stability, at the detriment of the other.

That's actually an interesting idea with the nodes. Trapping them in some sort of quantum anomaly that forces them to exist in two places at once, then breaking one of the chambers so it's forced to settle in the other. Maybe there could be a component to slow the reaction down, so as to time it correctly? Still, neat.
Something bugs me about the new research system for Thaumcraft, i mean even azanor seemed to have trouble with it on Direwolf20's video. The new research system seems cool but i fear that it might be too hard to use... maybe a difficulty feature could be added?
