Can you make it so that the server doesn't have to have the mod? My friend made a server, but she doesn't have forge and can't download it and wants me to make some stuff. I'd really like that.
Hey guys, so I'm considering rewriting this mod for 1.7. I'm not exactly sure on the exact NBT changes, but I'm assuming some of the structure has changed, most likely for the better. So, my question is, any requests? Ideas, comments, suggestions?
Instead of having to type the command /nbtedit, you could just have it set to a key maybe?
any chance you could make it so that pressing enter while editing an nbt value saves the value and closes the window?
enter works everywhere else, so it doesn't make sense not to allow you to save changes by pressing enter.
another thing, it doesn't seem possible to clear some values. for example, set a customname value to anything, save, then edit again and clear the value out. it won't be saved, so once something's named you can't un-name it anymore.
Yeah, I'll add that in the next update (or NBTEdit2).
And hmm, that may be a problem with how Minecraft reads the custom name. I'll have to look into it

I hope the rewrite for the mod comes out soon. I have a project that RELIES on this otherwise it can't be released!
I'm unsure of how NBT was changed in 1.7 - once the Minecraft Coder pack is released I should be able to tell whether an entire rewrite is necessary or not. Best case, it's just another update port.

Im no expert in Binary, so this may not be possible, but i was thinking that an addition could be the ability to edit items on the ground, such as health, fire tick, and age. Just a suggestion. Excellent mob by the way!

The most probable reason that it isn't out yet is Forge hasn't updated yet, Davidee is usually very good about updating his mods. By they way, I don't care but the Moderators would consider this update spam and a infraction, just saying.

I'd love to see a mod re-write--that'd be seriously awesome--but I think it'd be nice (if it isn't too much work on your part) to release the current version of the mod for 1.7 before taking extra time to make an improved version. I don't know what it's like for some people, but this is quite probably the MOST USEFUL mod I have EVER used in minecraft and I'd greatly appreciate getting to fool around in 1.7 with it, especially since I use it heavily for working on my Adventure Map.
By the way, did I mention that this is the MOST USEFUL MOD EVER?!?!? Because it is. Probably the only way I would stop using your mod is if it stopped updating, and if it stopped updating I would learn modding myself so that I could keep using it!

I need it too, BUT forge isn't updates because mcp isn't updates so this mod isn't updates, it will take to December said the minecraft forge team, so be pacient
Hey everyone, I have been seeing lots of people getting impatient on the release of the 1.7 version, but for pretty much every mod in this forum that uses forge is waiting for the mincraft coder pack to get updated, and not because they are lazy, no I'm not saying go bother searge, but it isn't the mod authors fault.
I'm using 1.6.2 version with some other mods but it seems anytime I try to edit a mob's health it saves it but immediately returns to default as if it can't be edited. It also seems to apply to spawners as well.
Still not working...I even set both to something high like 999 and a customized axe that does 20 damage kills them in 1 hit, thus still being resetted to default. Not sure what's happening...can someone else confirm they're having this issue as well? If I'm the only one, it's possible it is some other mod conflicting with this one but I'm not sure why it would. I should mention I tried relogging to see if updating teh chunks would update the mob but it won't. I'm making a map where the enemies have a chance to drop rare loot, thus why I don't want to have to give the mob very high protection armor just to keep their health really high. I'd prefer to have it set itself.
Edit: It seems that the health is also under stored the Attribute list, thus editing all 3 seems to do the trick.
Searched for how to op myself, although I think more information is needed on this. I'm running it on client and getting the no permission message when I try the command. Can I only use this in creative, or will it work in survival? Already tried the "op MyName" in various formats to no effect except talking to myself. Thanks for your help and patience.

Yeah, this is definitely possible. If you want such functionality though, you should look into the Macro/Key-binding mod.
