Would this mod be safe to use on a map/save that is used on LAN? My wife and I play together a lot and would like to save our game from unexpected tragedies.

I've never tried it, but as long as it's running on the host side I can't think of anything that would make it not work. It's just copying the world save files to a special folder in the background. If you try it out, let me know how it goes!
New version is out to support my shared classes mod bspkrsCore. I also added a new setting for limiting the number of auto-saves that will be kept for each world as well as global auto-save default settings accessible in mod_WorldStateCheckpoints.cfg.
WorldStateCheckpoints 1.4.6.r03 is out! This release improves performance when saving checkpoints for large worlds, fixes the "leaking worlds" error reported by Forge, and tweaks a few other small things.
The mod brought everything I thought it would have and more. I was just expecting something like in emulators where its just some key binds like shift+1 but you brought the cake with naming the states and a whole GUI with it. Then adding overide so you don't have to make a new one and delete the other. In total I was impressed, and you brought things I didn't think about. I thank you and Mightypork for making a awesome mod that brings a minecrafter's experince playing a lot better because you don't lose everthing.

Glad you like it! It's my favorite mod that I've worked on.
I need to know if it adds commands for single player console, because I'm developing an Adventure Map, and I'd like to have checkpoints get saved by command blocks. Also, I was wondering if maybe you could add a config option to make these functions only accessible through the command line.

Yeah, I had basically the same idea a while back, but I never implemented it. I may actually make it a separate mod that only provides the commands and a way to load the checkpoints (and maybe only allow it to be saved if the command is called by a command block or something).
sorry bro, I've read the notes but that was a while back and i just noticed that issue now.
thanks again for replying and for your awesome mod.
Also, a way to setback individual chunks and dimensions, rather than the whole world.
FYI, I added the max number of auto-saves feature. It defaults to 10 (per world).
Neat!
I'll definently be using the mod again when I start up with updated versions
Thanks! This is probably my favorite mod to work on at the moment.
EDIT: it COMPLETELY glitched out my world!!!!
