This means you installed the mod successfully but SEUS is not compatible with your graphics driver.
Only some driver support it.
AMD Catalyst v13.12 + preview2 has only gbuffers_weather error message but it works (not including rain).
NVIDIA GeForce v334.89 is compatible with some SEUS 10.0 or 10.1 preview1. I don't remember which or both. I have not tested preview2 with it.
On Intel HD graphics, it has this problem. There is no fix available at this time.
On OS X, it has this problem. There is no fix available at this time.
If you Mac has Intel CPU and AMD GPU or NVIDIA GPU, you may try bootcamp+Windows. I don't have Mac. I don't know whether it works or not.
when you say there's no current fix do you mean that Sonic Ether hasn't worked on it yet, or do you mean no one knows of one, or its currently impossible to fix it? Because These new shaders look kick ass and I really want to use them.
i have a fully updated graphics card... i have fallowed all install instructions and whenever i got to play i just get a screen full of nothing. its like im in the game tho. full sounds damage breaking blocks everything. it apears to be im not the only one
Can anyone tell me what version of Forge works with the newest 1.7.2 edition? It has been a while since I've played Minecraft, and with #1003 it just crashes. This does work with the older version, though.
I'm currently using Forge #1047 and everything is working fine.
So I followed the instructions but now I can't choose the shader version, please correct me on what I did wrong..
Can't CHOOSE a version? Be more specific, if you mean you don't have the option to pick a shader pack then you didn't install it correctly. But if you man you see the packs and they won't load is another issue. I'd love to help but I need more info with the problem.
I keep trying to use Sonic Ethers Shaders 1.7.2 Preview 2 and I keep getting this. The Errors are as follows:
invalid program gbuffers_textured_lit
Invalid program gbuffers_weather
Invalid program composite1
Invalid program final
Is this the shaders problem, my computer, the mod? Any help is appreciated.

Well, what graphics card do you have in your computer?
If you have Intel graphics, then it just isn't possible, they aren't powerful enough to run the advanced shaders.
If you have AMD/nVidia graphics, then it could just be drivers.
What you are talking about (the sideshow of boxes in the lower-left) is typical of running these GLSL Shaders on a MAC. Of which, because OpenGL 3/4 aren't supported in MC on MacOS yet (points finger at Mojang) most of these fancy shaders don't work.

How can I possibly load up Minecraft and select a shader pack if it crashes??
But I did post a crash report on the pastebin.com website. http://pastebin.com/J33cLs39

FML creates log even if Minecraft crash. Get the log file.
The crash report is also useful but not enough to determine exact cause.
Also you fail to provide version information.
If I have fixed the bug, it will not affect old version. You have to update to latest version.
I tried installing the 1.7.5 version, followed all the instructions. I don't know if I did anything wrong, but the game loads fine and everything, but the shader just isn't there. It's just vanilla minecraft.
I didn't have any of the folder paths specified, including the library file, since it was just a vanilla install of minecraft. I just created the folder paths.
Other than that, I don't know what else I could have done wrong. I edited the profile in the launcher and specified to use the shader mod version.
I'm still playing Minecraft 1.4.6. Which shaderpack I can use with this version to get a beautiful picture? And which would be suitable for 1.5.1? Or can I use any shaderpack regardless of the Minecraft version?

Well, unfortunately, some of the newer packs (SEUS v10.0 / v10.1 Preview 1 & 2) only work with functions from the newer releases. So, you would have to play with Sildur's (maybe Vibrant), Chocapic's V3 (maybe V4), SEUS v10 RC6/7 (RC7 needs some patches to fix bugs).
It's mostly just testing to see.
You would be better off to upgrade to 1.6.4, most mods have upgraded that far, and you would have full support for any shaderpack you want at that point. SEUS v10.1 might get away on you, Karyonix just added some new features that Cody is going to be using, and so far those would be 1.7.X only -- I don't think Cody is using them yet.
Anyone know any good guides for converting textures to bump/normal map in 1.7?
I used "Crazybump" to convert Ovo's cobble:
But it just didn't work.
(I tested another pack and confirmed I have normal map working too)
Look for making a normal map with gimp(it has a filter)
then use the eraser to give the pixels opacity, a method i used to get stuff done fast was to select by color then copy the different colors to different layers and use the opacity slider on the layers to give each color its own depth, however you can put any amount of opacity on any pixel, that just takes a bit more time. and its the same as 1.6.4 as far as file structure, just add "_n" for normal mapping and "_s" for specular to the end of your .png hope that helps^_^

I have tried the mentioned versions. SEUS make everything too bright. Too much light. Sildur's doesn't work. Chocapic's V3 works, though slowly, and still too much light, though Chocapic's V3 are more-less suitable for me. Thank you for your advice.
Is there a way to further reduce brightness (in video settings it's already on Moody)?

Your best bet in SEUS v10 RC7 would be to edit final.fsh.
Hop down to lines 53-56.
You're probably going to only need to adjust the gamma, but you might knock the brightmult down only (if the black is already OK). It's going to be trial & error I think.
In composite.fsh you have the sun & torchlight brightness, you can knock those down if they are too bright -- or increase them if they are too dark after getting the ambient lighting straightened out.
I also have a few fixes for Water Color, Flashing Water, and Jumping Shadows if you need them.
PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!

So, you edited the JSON file, but when you load up the launcher it doesn't show up in the drop-down in the lower-left?
Can you guys please follow the instructions here and post your log:
1. Load up Minecraft
2. Select your shaderpack (if not already)
3. Load up a world
4. Save and exit the world
5. Exit Minecraft
Then post the following log file to pastebin.com or use <spoiler> tags:
1.6.4 @ %appdata%\.minecraft\ForgeModLoader-client-0.log
1.7.2 @ %appdata%\.minecraft\logs\fml-client-latest.log & latest.log

There is a bug with the gbuffers_weather where there is a stray 'f' on line ~14 that needs to be removed.
Problems with the cascading screens has been summed up to MacOS or Intel Graphics (which we've known all along ;)).
