SEUS use a glGenerateMipmaps which is OpenGL 3 feature. It is called from Java, not from shaders. Without glGenerateMipmaps, bloom effect becomes rectangular.
Sorry I kinda ignored you Graagh1 I read the website i didn't really understand it. And with your previous post were you implying that there was a better chance of me being able to use the SUES shaderpack?
Hey, it's no problem. Information on this post comes pretty fast and furious! It can be a lot to process at times :-)
No, I wasn't implying that there was a better chance, just thinking that it probably wasn't the source of your problems - but see Karyonlx's reply to me above...So does the shaders mod implement the full Opengl 3 feature set, or only selected functions?
This requires Java 7.
Before running this installer, run Minecraft 1.7.4 at least once and close it.
Close Minecraft Launcher before you run this installer.
The installer is executable jar file. Double-click to run.
If your computer doesn't associate .jar with Java, you may have to run java from command line or batch file.
java -jar ShadersMod-v2.3.13mc1.7.4-installer.jar
This version is compatible with OptiFine_1.7.4_HD_U_D1.
Run OptiFine installer before ShadersMod installer.

Run OptiFine installer before ShadersMod installer.
When i try to install this, it says it cant find optifine, i installed and ran optifine before doing the shaders installer and it still cant find it.
So I installed everything perfectly, but when I go to run the v.10 of the seus shader, my screen goes black except for a little colored box in the lower left hand corner.
I also get the error codes; Invalid program gbuffers_textured_lit, invalid program composite1, and invalid program final.
I'm running minecraft on a bukkit server.
My computer is a Mac, software is OS X, Processor: 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5, and i have plenty of open RAM and memory. If someone could let me know if it's my computer that's stopping the shader from working, or just a mess up on my part.
Okay so i ran the 1.7.4 optifine installer BEFORE and then ran the 1.7.4 shaders installer and it says: "Version 1.7.4 => 1.7.4-ShadersMod2.3.13 Add profile 1.7.4-ShadersMod for version 1.7.4-ShadersMod2.3.13
Cannot find versoin 1.7.4-Optifine_HD_U_D1
complete
I had that version of optifine installed and i "assume" this did not do what it was supposed to because i don't have a profile that has optifine and shaders in my mc yet, just two separate ones. Plz help.
Folder in versions folder should be named 1.7.4-Optifine_HD_U_D1, and the rest of the contents should be rename the same.
So it should be:
Folder name: 1.7.4-Optifine_HD_U_D1
1.7.4-Optifine_HD_U_D1.jar
1.7.4-Optifine_HD_U_D1.json (with ID:1.7.4-Optifine_HD_U_D1 saved)
When i try to install this, it says it cant find optifine, i installed and ran optifine before doing the shaders installer and it still cant find it.
You have to use OptiFine's installer.
Double-click OptiFine_1.7.4_HD_U_D1.jar or OptiFine_1.7.5_HD_U_D1.jar and click install.
If you install it differently or use different editon (eg. OptiFine_1.7.4_HD_D1), ShadersMod installer will not recognize it.

Just accept the fact that SEUS is not compatible with your computer and live on.
SEUS has low compatibility.
Folder in versions folder should be named 1.7.4-Optifine_HD_U_D1, and the rest of the contents should be rename the same.
So it should be:
Folder name: 1.7.4-Optifine_HD_U_D1
1.7.4-Optifine_HD_U_D1.jar
1.7.4-Optifine_HD_U_D1.json (with ID:1.7.4-Optifine_HD_U_D1 saved)
Wrong case and you should not have to rename any folder.
OptiFine_1.7.4_HD_U_D1 installer will create subfolder 1.7.4-OptiFine_HD_U_D1 inversions folder.
If the folder 1.7.4-OptiFine_HD_U_D1 does not exist, you have not installed OptiFine_1.7.4_HD_U_D1 the right way for ShadersMod installer.
Ive done this thirty times, it doesnt work, is there anyway i can get the manual install back, its alot easier and actually works unlike the installer

Don't waste time repeating the same act many times. You should look to see what is wrong with what you have done and correct your mistake. If you do it correctly and it does not work, please provide evidence.
Why don't you tell us exactly what you do with details including Minecraft version, optifine version and filename and size, shadersmod version, filename and size, OS name, OS version, 32/64bit, Java version, what launcher are you using?
How have you install OptiFine? Does it work?
List folder 1.7.* in versions folder in minecraft folder.

This post is massive, so I apologize if I missed the information. I have also searched google but mostly gotten posts about using a shaderpack.
Normally I am getting about 35-40 fps in Minecraft which isntt amazing but it works ok.
Installing GLSL Shaders Mod v2.2.2 causes severe lag at the title screen without even selecting a shader pack. I have updated to the latest (13.12?) version of the AMD display drivers in hope of rectifying this but to no avail, I have also turned down the settings found in the shaders part of options such as hand depth etc but it does not really help much.
Any idea why this may be happening?
Thanks.

Version and system info
If you ask for help, please provide Minecraft version number, Forge version number, ShadersMod version number, and other mods name and version/edition (if installed).
If non-default launcher is used, you should write its name and version number too.
Also the operating system name and version, graphics adapter name and driver version.
Please be specific. Don't say latest version of everything.

I believe I'm running 13.12 AMD. Well, I know I'm running the latest version cos I have checked the auto updater and I am pretty sure that you need to manually get the beta 14. Could you tell me how I check? Do I need the beta?
I know I have optifine with shaders. :3. I can be sure of that.
You should be able to rt-click on the desktop and load the Catalyst Control Center, it will tell you which version is installed.
If you are using Optifine 1.7.5 and GLSL Shaders 2.3.15, you should be able to get good enough FPS to run:
Sildur's Basic and Vibrant (might have to go with the Vibrant - Intel to keep FPS up)
Chocapic's V4 (Lite/Low)
SEUS Lite
What is the error that you get when your MC crashes loading up these shaderpacks?
Synthesizer has a similiar AMD CPU with graphics built in, and he can run some of these (testing I guess). He also has a 7970 that he uses as a primary card. Point is, they will work .

Optifine works, but you need to apply Karyonix's FML patch to get it to load properly.
I would recommend a full workup (bump forge to 965, glsl is already at 2.2.2, install OF 1.6.4 Ultra D1) but the answer to your question is pretty simple.
The GPU that is built into your AMD processor on that notebook isn't powerful enough to run shaders.
Full size desktops that run at 150-300FPS regular MC get knocked back to 40-60FPS when a really good shaderpack is in use (SEUS v10.1 for example).
It ranks about the same as the nVidia Geforce GTS 450, which would net maybe 5 FPS in SEUS. If you go to benchmarks, and check other low-end AMD cards like the 7770 (which gets about 15-20 FPS in SEUS) it has 1/2 the processing power.
You have the same scenario roughly as the reply for Esrevinue above. You can try those shaderpacks, and bumping versions. If you need the FML Patch (it is in this forum), let me know, I just linked it one page back in the Optifine forum at the end.
I'm AMD 13.12. Should I get the beta 14? If yes, where? And I cannot run ANY of those shaders listed apart from basic sildurs basic, which has a gbuffers_terain error, which means it does nothing and SEUS lite, which i just realised now. And when It crashes, it's AMD that crashes, not minecraft, so there is no crash report. Should I give you the log file instead? Thanks so much
When it crashes is it a Java error referring to ati2mdxx.dll or something along that lines? You could provide a MC Log, but 1.7.4 and 1.7.5 don't really make one. There's no error logging I don't think. Just the basic load progress.
I'm not sure on how to fix that. If you need to install DirectX, or .NET Framework 4.5.1 or whatever.
So, SEUS Lite runs on your machine? That's pretty good. For most people it comes up pink or an off color...

Hey,
Thank you for your reply. In an older version of SEUS (v10? maybe?) I was able to run it with about (15-20 fps same rig.) Once it went to the shaders mod method it just destroyed my machine. I will try the patch (been looking to find a way to make this work with Forge anyway) and see if maybe some of the settings that have been suggested elsewhere, help me gain any FPS.
I am aware my APU isn't quite up to snuff, and I understand the whole, gaming on a laptop thing. For my purposes though it works fine, just wish i could get 15-20 FPS with shaders for some screens.
Thank you again for your in depth, and EXTREMELY helpful reply. Thank you so much.
Im having an issue trying to use the SEUS v10 ultra with DOF. i have probably 20 different shader packs and they all work amazing but the one i really want to work is this one but whenever i try to use it get a crazy effect that is definitely not supposed to happen and iv only seen one other person have this issue but i never found a solution.i am still using MC 1.5.2 (since i have an incredible amount of mods working properly and when i update i cant get them to work properly)i am also using magic launcher 1.2.5Forge version 1.5.2-8.7.1.737optifine version 1.5.2 HD U D3Shadersmod-mc1.5.2-ofud3-1.46here is a screenshot of what my screen looks like after i select SEUS.Does anyone know why this is happening? i know that this shader i am using is the 1.5.2 version. at least thats what it said when i downloaded it. and i can still run around and everything but it looks that the picture and never crashesany help would be greatly appreciated also my computer specs areAMD FX6300 @ 4.0ghzRadeon HD 7870xt with boost 2gb8gb of ramand OS is windows 7.

Yes, the 1.5.2 version does not work with v10 shaders.
Fantastic mod, been using it for a while. Got a quick question though, and it might be a stupid one, so sorry in advance if it is.
I've been trying to get this to work with the most recent snapshot (14w11b), and I've changed most of the file names, I have the .json file pointing towards the correct files, yet it still doesn't work. That is to say, it opens up minecraft just fine, but when I try to open a world, it crashes and says this:
java.lang.VerifyError: Bad invokespecial instruction: current class isn't assignable to reference class.

Any ideas? Is this a flawed attempt from the start?
Yeah, it's weird. There's no java error, just AMD crashes which would mean anything using stops. The gbuffers terrain error, would you know how to fix that? And like you said, it's great that SEUS Lite works, but I'd also like an alternative. I mean, I was surprised when it actually worked, but it makes no sense why Chocapic13's low shaders or Sildur's Vibrant Shaders Intel wouldn't work as well.
In SEUS v10.1 Preview 2 you get that error because there is a line (12-15 somewhere in there) where there is an F in the middle of nowhere. Just delete that, and it works.
In SEUS v10.0 or v10.1 Preview 1, it depends, it may be commands in the shaderpack that isn't supported on your video card or driver.

No problem, glad to help. Check out my conversation with Esrevinue_Miner because it is exactly what you are describing as well.
When you apply the FML Patch to Optifine, make sure to rename it to [0000]-Optifine-1.6.4-uD1.jar so it loads first.

it seems as though the occlusion lighting is flipped to, is there anyway i can fix this with 1.7.2? i assume i need to flip it around like i did for the bump map. here's what im talking about.
