Hi ActerHD thanks for sharing your work progress but I'm getting a lot of bugs U.U (no reflections, no shadows on the floor, infinite large clouds and my arm is appearing and disappearing really fast) by the way, i've got 40fps .
I am thinking of buying AMD graphics card.
Is 7870 a good choice ?
The 7870 comes with 3 free games from the Never Settle Bundle but AMD has sketchy OpenGL support and some functions for shaders don't work properly due to the lack of extensions for them in the drivers. The 7870 XT is a better performing version of the card and is close to a 7950 in performance. The GTX 660Ti is around the same price as a 7870 but has better OpenGL driver support and doesn't seem to come with any free games. If you can spend a bit extra get a GTX 760 for better performance and OpenGL support.
The reason why I think I should get AMD card is to make shaders mod and shaderpacks more compatible.
I want to choose a card that is appropriate to my budget and also works well with other games in 1920x1080 resolution too.
I think SLI or Crossfire is too much. I should not do it.

I completely agree, and SLI/Crossfire are a complete waste of money. It's all fancy, and of course you have total bragging rights. But after you add up the cost of buying 2 cards, a single card at that same price point will outperform and work in every game.
As for cards, the 7870 / 7870XT sounds like the best 'bang for your buck' and offers up better support for us AMD video guys!
I'm all for saving money, and I really hate nVidia's Control Panel and multi-monitor support. Probably better now in Win7 (and even better now that the 'your display driver has stopped responding and windows recovered it' bug has probably been fixed). Used to love nV but I have such a bitter taste in my mouth still..
I've got the same problem, Cody has run into this before, and it's an AMD in-compatability. I tried using the float timePow fix but it didn't help any unfortunately.

I have a problem, my shader.jar is a winrar file. i converted the rar to a jar, but it also turned my other mods into jars, and it doesnt even work. any ideas? yes i use forge

It's still a .jar file, but it shows the books because WinRAR show you that you can just double click it to open it, and you don't have to do right click, 'Open with...' and then select WinRAR. So it's still a .jar, don't wory
Well, IE/FF has that glitch with MediaFire and the GLSL Shaders download..
For whatever reason, IE/FF change the extension of the download to .jar.zip when it is supposed to be just .jar. Doesn't happen in Chrome. I can't explain it !
But, you don't have to convert anything, just rename the file and take the .zip off the end.
You might have to go into Computer -> Organize -> Folder & Search Options -> View -> <uncheck> hide extensions for known file types to see it.
As for your other mods.. You might end up re-downloading some of your mods. I don't know if I would try to rename files, or change stuff back. Most mods are under 5MB, so just re-download them all I would think..
Aye, I'm sure they don't work for me either, aside from dropping my FPS to an unplayable amount I notice no changes in visual effects, (when raining) I did ask in a previous post what exactly this pack did
The reflections are an extent of bump mapping on the water for whatever reason. If the water texture has a _s file that is yellowscale, it will work.

I have a 7870 XT and it is a very powerful card. I can play most games on Ultra settings at 1920x1080. However, I only get 25 FPS using your shader mod + SEUS. So, it would be great if you could optimize for AMD cards. I've seen some 7950's going for under 200 after rebate lately, which is a better deal than a 7870 XT/MYST so, If you have a good enough PSU go for it.
Is there any way to have this without shadows? Because if so I'm sold. This is so far the only reflections that work on my computer.

Reflections aren't working for me.
Using a GTX650, lastest WHQL drivers, and shaders mod beta 9.
Is 7870 a good choice ?
AMD HD7990 does not work N / 1
The 7870 comes with 3 free games from the Never Settle Bundle but AMD has sketchy OpenGL support and some functions for shaders don't work properly due to the lack of extensions for them in the drivers. The 7870 XT is a better performing version of the card and is close to a 7950 in performance. The GTX 660Ti is around the same price as a 7870 but has better OpenGL driver support and doesn't seem to come with any free games. If you can spend a bit extra get a GTX 760 for better performance and OpenGL support.

If that's the case go for either the 7870 or 7870 XT, I'm not sure if the performance increment is worth the extra price to you though.
Perhaps the crossfire (or forced crossfire? -- because sli/crossfire doesn't work in Java -- so it doesn't work in MC) is causing the problem.
I'm using the WHQL 13.4 drivers without any issues at all.
I'm also using Forge 818 and GLSL Beta9.
I completely agree, and SLI/Crossfire are a complete waste of money. It's all fancy, and of course you have total bragging rights. But after you add up the cost of buying 2 cards, a single card at that same price point will outperform and work in every game.
As for cards, the 7870 / 7870XT sounds like the best 'bang for your buck' and offers up better support for us AMD video guys!
I'm all for saving money, and I really hate nVidia's Control Panel and multi-monitor support. Probably better now in Win7 (and even better now that the 'your display driver has stopped responding and windows recovered it' bug has probably been fixed). Used to love nV but I have such a bitter taste in my mouth still..

Well, IE/FF has that glitch with MediaFire and the GLSL Shaders download..
For whatever reason, IE/FF change the extension of the download to .jar.zip when it is supposed to be just .jar. Doesn't happen in Chrome. I can't explain it !
But, you don't have to convert anything, just rename the file and take the .zip off the end.
You might have to go into Computer -> Organize -> Folder & Search Options -> View -> <uncheck> hide extensions for known file types to see it.
As for your other mods.. You might end up re-downloading some of your mods. I don't know if I would try to rename files, or change stuff back. Most mods are under 5MB, so just re-download them all I would think..
The reflections are an extent of bump mapping on the water for whatever reason. If the water texture has a _s file that is yellowscale, it will work.

1GB Radeon 7790 user here - yeah, that'll do just fine. Just make sure you have Max FPS enabled for best results.

I have a 7870 XT and it is a very powerful card. I can play most games on Ultra settings at 1920x1080. However, I only get 25 FPS using your shader mod + SEUS. So, it would be great if you could optimize for AMD cards. I've seen some 7950's going for under 200 after rebate lately, which is a better deal than a 7870 XT/MYST so, If you have a good enough PSU go for it.
