[size=medium]So which do I use then.... ? A8
or later? I found this page, and there's quite a few releases. How do you know? Is it always the latest?
I always thought it had to correspond with the Mod release version, so I was really confused when there's no Optifine 1.5.1 D5 ultra...... :L
There is an Optifine 1.4.7 Ultra D5, a 1.5.1 Ultra A8, and a 1.5.1 Ultra B1 (now B3).
The version of Optifine you need correlates to the version of the GLSL Shaders you want to use:
ShadersMod-mc1.4.6-ofuD5-1.44 (MineCraft 1.4.6 or 1.4.7, Optifine 1.4.7 Ultra D5, and GLSL Shaders 1.44)
ShadersMod-mc1.5.1-ofuA8-1.45 (MineCraft 1.5.1, Optifine 1.5.1 Ultra A8, and GLSL Shaders 1.45 Preview)
ShadersMod-mc1.5.1-ofuB3-1.45.1 (MineCraft 1.5.1, Optifine 1.5.1 Ultra B3, and GLSL Shaders 1.45.1 Preview)
The A8 preview is probably 10 pages back now, but you can find links to it throughout that 10 pages. The B3 preview is only 2 or 3 pages back.
I'll snag some links if I can shortly...
EDIT:
GLSL Shaders 1.45 Preview for Optifine Ultra A8:
EDIT NOTE: I thought this was the Chocapic13 Shaders thread, allthough, the instructions apply to most shaders!
Go to %appdata%\.minecraft\shaderpacks and you'll have to unzip the .ZIP/.RAR file into a DIRECTORY inside SHADERPACKS (so Chocapic13_Shaders_v3Prevew4.zip becomes %appdata%\.minecraft\shaderpacks\Chocapic13_Shaders_v3Prevew4).
If you check inside the Chocapic13_Shaders_v3Prevew4 folder, you should have a SHADERS folder, and usually around 20-30 items inside that folder.
Edit final.fsh (I believe, it could be the .vsh too) and change the settings to your preferred configuration. You must use the Wordpad built into Windows XP+, or a specialized editor like Notepad++.
Please note, it COULD be:
* the shader pack you are using
* you are missing the lightmap files from your texture pack (they are inside the Chocapic V2 download) -- these are the custom colors
* you do not have Optifine configured like Chocapic instructs in the first post
* you need to update your video drivers to support the proper DirectX/OpenGL command sets (say if you are using the Microsoft supplied driver?)
* your video card does not support the command sets that the shader pack is request (too old / onboard)
I have installed the ShaderMod as said in the discription with magiclauncher. Optifine works but the ShaderMod doesn't - everything looks original like before, no changes. I can choose different shaderpacks in-game so this means it loads the mod but i can't see any shadows or waving grass etc... I can choose different packs like the k26 but its all the same. I'm using an ATI Radeon HD 4800 with the latest drivers and tried different minecraftversions (1.4.6; 1.4.7; 1.5.1)
THX for responds (:
Look back 8 posts at my #1427.
You need specific versions of Forge, Optifine, and the GLSL Shaders installed for each version of MineCraft (and in that particular order!).
Once Optifine/GLSL is running (Options -> Shaders appears), you can use the internal shaders --- but that is just what is built into MC/Optifine/GLSL.
You need to download some of the shaders from the 1st post of this thread (Chocapic / SEUS / Alexei03).
The shader ZIP goes into %appdata%\.minecraft\shaderpacks. Then go into Options -> Shaders, and pick the shader pack from the list.
Black screen :-( , I followed #1428, but black screen and minecraft went to black screen with not responding message :-(
I installed:
1 - minecraftforge-universal-1.5.1-7.7.1.659.zip
2 - OptiFine_1.5.1_HD_U_A8.zip
3 - ShadersMod-mc1.5.1-ofuB3-1.45.1.zip
Contains OF B3 Ultra, however I found other way how to run it
To new minecraft.jar I used
SEUS SHADER 1.5.1 ZanderPlays.zip
OptiFine_1.5.1_HD_U_A8.zip
and it works somehow :-)
Mezzo's got it right :).
That sounds like a scary combination ... I have no idea what is inside the SEUS pack you downloaded.. Why run 1.45 and A8 when the new release is less buggy?
The link for Optifine A8 will also allow you to download Optifine UB3 (it's the main Optifine download page) ... and the link for Forge allows you to download 608 or later (same reason, but you already have the latest version).
After those are installed (forge first, optifine 2nd) then GLSL Shaders 1.45.1 can be installed. Then you just need shaders..
I'd be rebuilding my minecraft.jar myself ... but that's just me ;)!
Damn it! It worked for 20 minutes but now its just the same as before.
I used a clear minecraft.jar version 1.5.1- launched magiclauncher with:
minecraftforge-universal-1.5.1-7.7.1.660.zip
OptiFine_1.5.1_HD_U_B3.zip
ShadersMod-mc1.5.1-ofuB3-1.45.1.zip
in this order. Forge says, that there are 3 mods installed and 3 active. So why wouldn't it work anymore?
Well, things look in the clear.. I'm not very familiar with MagicLauncher, are the mods supposed to show up in both the top (magic launcher mods folder) and bottom (inside the MC JAR)? MagicLauncher would have to inject the mods into the JAR, not sure if it does it on the fly, or permanently (resulting in listing both on the top & bottom)...
Anyways..
You're still using the internal shaders, which basically only uses those built into MineCraft & Optifine.
I would recommend the Chocapic13 shaders, v3-Preview4 is amazing, and out of those I tested I got some of the best FPS out of them. Another great set is Alexei03a's modified Chocapic13 shaders, it includes some awesome water reflections (hard to find because Alexei keeps handing off shaders).
So, in the shader menu, pick anything other than internal, and the display should change. Waving grass, sun refraction (lens flare), shadows, etc etc...
Some quick thumbs (sorry, just found the first place I could to take screenies .. the trees all wave, and lens flares, caves dim in darkness -- etc):

Hello, I need help. I've installed the 1.5.1 Forge, optifine hd ultra A8, and the shadersmod 1.5.1 ofu A8-1.45 and when the shadersmod is installed, all I get is a black screen. I have even started from scratch and totally reinstalled minecraft to get a new .jar file. This is the Youtube video I was following:
And those are the files I used to try this. Thanks in advance.

Waiting for 1.5.1 Release, Which I'm praying will work with optifine C4 as it's so much better then B3. Till then thank you for making MineCraft look sexy ;D
Maybe you should put the 1.5.1 beta in the OP so that people can find it more easily.
Also, while using Chocapic13's shaders I had the light from the sun suddenly appear while I was in the End, blinding me. It never moved, always staying exactly in between my crosshair and the top of the screen. Perhaps it was a bug with the shader or with the mod, though both are in beta so I was expecting some bugginess.
I've installed everything as exact as possible, except with 1.4.7.... (so 1.4.7 optifine Kary's shaders etc), and I still get a black screen every time I log in.
Using Magic Launcher, and doing it in this order.... Optifine > Camera Studio > Kary's shaders
I can play with no issues after Optifine and camera studio, but as soon as I install Kary's shaders it doesn't work.
Is camera studio not compatible or.... ? :l I can't update to use 1.5.1 either.
change wat, ive tried alot of stuff already and nothing works
Maybe you should just try different shaders to get the effect that you want.....
You've been told where and how to edit the files, and you've been told what file(s) to edit.
I didn't code the shader customizations, just trying to help dude..
The final.vsh appears to be the colors of the sun at different times of the day, the final.fsh has how the sun affects objects. You can semi-decipher what different areas are for, and most of the lines have comments.

I don't believe Bump Mapping is working in 1.5.1 yet (as per the last post, and Karyonix):
If you need a good place to start, Chocapic's Shader thread has a good base Optifine config, and then just tweak it to the settings that you like :).
And those are the files I used to try this. Thanks in advance.
This is the latest version, see if it works.
