So the situation I have is that I have a separate mini-game world with a handful of labels I want to show. The main overworld has way too many labels to show them. Setting the default in the config.txt works, but is not an option.
The minigame labels are already in their own set, so I tried the /dmarker commands you suggested, but they didn't work. The commands both gave the response "Set {setname} updated" ... and typing an incorrect setname gives an error message, so I think it is working .... but it's not working The labels remain hidden.
I don't see anything that would help in the markers.yml. Maybe I am doing the commands wrong? Please let me know if you have any suggestions

Now, I had a full render running when I had to restart my server multiple times. Would many restarts mess with the plugin if it was in a full render? If so, I wasn't aware of this and I need some advice to fix it.

When I do a /dynmap fullrender world the rendering time keep increasing each 100 tiles it adds. As a result eventually the plugin brings down the whole server. Also after do this the map that I see from the website is very incomplete with black areas over most of the map. What am I doing wrong that stops me from getting a complete map of our server?

Dynmap only renders loaded chunks. Any chunks that haven't been explored in your world will appear black. Once you explore those chunks (meaning you load them) they will be rendered automatically by dynmap. It's not a glitch on your part at all. Also, check your limits on your hosting and see if you're running into the CPU or RAM limit. (The restart shouldn't hurt anything anyway)
If you have any more questions, I can answer most of them (except the one I myself made above.)

You're missing the webfiles somehow. Many players had the same problem waaaay back when the webfiles where included in a zipfile. Now all you really should need is the jar and it would fix it for you but you seem to have had some error there.
Check the logfile for errors and if you find any you can't wrap your head around, post the logfile on postbin and post the link to it here.

hmm okay, i just checked inside the 2.3 version of Dynmap mod.. i see that it has support for carpenter mod, but you say it doesn't support.. that suggest the renderdata is outdated because the version is carpenter mod is updated to latest version (my best guess).. and i dont see that it have any chisel 2 mod support..
Something happened with dynmap today (Jan 7, 2017) where all the subdirectories in web/tiles got replaced... so none of my maps render like they did yesterday. The old tiles are just gone.
Should I update render and just let it crank out the new tiles? ... Or will it even remember how much of the world it had rendered before it replaced the tiles directory?

If i did a low res full render then changed to hi res without a full render, would this give me low res unexplored and hi res explored?
Something happened with dynmap today (Jan 7, 2017) where all the subdirectories in web/tiles got replaced... so none of my maps render like they did yesterday. The old tiles are just gone.
Should I update render and just let it crank out the new tiles? ... Or will it even remember how much of the world it had rendered before it replaced the tiles directory?

I did a fullrender and it recreated the map. Still don't understand why all the tiles went away.
I have three worlds (multiverse) being served up. I fullrendered just one of them. I'll try the other two when the server is not busy.
