Also if you don't mind, I'd like to get an idea of which version everyone uses. Say which version you use (Forge, LiteLoader, base edit). If not as many people use a base edit, I may drop support.
Using this with 1.7.2, liteloader version. Its great to have this mod back, looking forward to future continuity.
I am using the forge version for 1.7.2, and it doesn't seem to remove things that I have filters for from chat. They get sent to different tabs, but they don't get removed from the main chat. I am sure that the phrases get recognized. Can anyone help?
In other words, checking "Remove matches from chat" doesn't work.
Also, what does "convert unicode syntax" do in the advanced tab?
Inverse means opposite, so it would match only if it wouldn't otherwise.
Convert unicode unescapes unicode in sent chat. \u2122 would become ™.
For a list of unicode characters, go to http://unicode-table.com/en/
Once emoticons updates, you can also use that to pick symbols.

Currently using it (liteloader version), Could I request perhaps being able to make the chat font be larger/smaller?
I used to use the "Force Unicode Chat Rendering" but the letters could be a bit bigger, a bit hard to read.
I just got it so im testing with it, and trying to put it like I had it back on 1.6

I use Forge personally, and Magic Launcher to launch all my mods. You can't go wrong with Forge support, heh.
I don't know what the diff between Magic Launcher and LiteLoader is, so yeah heh.
Thank you so much for the pre-1.7.2 version. I love how it uses my settings from 1.6.4.
The only problem I see, it's not generating log files. There is a /logs folder in .minecraft. And in it, is a folder called TabbyChat that was made recently, but it's empty.
I looked through the logs and saw a .zip file dated today. Opened the zip and looked inside the txt file, and saw this spamming;
[Client thread/WARN]: [TABBYCHAT] Cannot create log file : 'The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect' : java.io.IOException: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect
I'm using the file "TabbyChat-Basemod.1.11.0-release.jar". I tried the liteloader version, having liteloader, but it didn't work. I put it in the /mods folder, but it's not initializing.
Also using MagicLauncher, which is using liteloader.

Do you mind mentioning what your OS is and any other info that may be important? I can't seem to be able to reproduce it. And be sure to do it using the default launcher. I don't support Magic Launcher.
I downloaded it, and first time using it i LOVED IT. was very excited to start using it, but then when i closed minecraft abd opened it back up, everytime i tried opening/joining a server i crash. And its only when i have tabby chat in the liteloader mod folder. Help?

Do you have a log? I can't help you if you don't help me help you.
I'm not sure you need the escape in front of the bracket character, as I believe the regex engine will be smart enough to know the bracket doesn't have special meaning here since there's no opening bracket. However, if you wanted to include one to be safe, I believe you'd need to use a backslash to escape the bracket, and that appears to be a forward slash used in your post.
I installed TabbyChat today and it's working great apart from one problem.
After about 15 minutes suddenly I find that pressing "o" instead of Ctrl-o brings up the TabbyChat options
when I'm in chat mode. After that, I can't type the letter "o" at all without bringing up the options box so
it's almost impossible to type anything. Any idea what might be causing this? I'm on a Mac OS-X 10.9.2.
I've experienced very similar issues to this on Linux myself, although not on Windows. I believe the source is LWJGL. I know the same issue with OSX has been reported here several times. I'm not sure there's been a fix or workaround nailed down, but with some monkeying around, you should be able to get it to go away whenever it crops up.
Basically, what happens for me is this - on Linux (Ubuntu specifically), when I use keys to execute special desktop shortcuts (e.g. Alt+Tab to switch windows, or Ctrl+Alt+Down to switch desktops), sometimes LWJGL and therefore Minecraft get hung up on those keys being held down when the window becomes active, and never realizes that I let it go. When this happens with Alt+Tab, usually I'll just Alt+Tab to some other window and then click on the Minecraft window to re-focus it. Then, usually my keys are "un-stuck".
It's just something you have to play around with, I'm afraid. The older version of LWJGL that Minecraft used to use tended to get the up/down keys stuck during gameplay, so at least that bug has been resolved
In addition to the fixed links, I also fixed the vanilla issue of link parsing. You won't need server assistance to be able to click on valid URI links. (starting with http:// or file://)

EDIT: All the downloads appear to be broken. Every version.
Works great! Thanks! 1.7.2

You're thinking about the links, which broke the filters. I was talking about https://github.com/Dykam/tabbychat/issues/39
In addition to the fixed links, I also fixed the vanilla issue of link parsing. You won't need server assistance to be able to click on valid URI links. (starting with http:// or file://)
Here are the links to the mod as of commit 363.
