So, if we assume that we will still be using EMC values and that Dirt is 1 EMC, and we're going from Dirt->Gravel->Clay->Clay Blocks->Iron Ingots->Gold Ingot->Diamonds, the we can say that these are the EMC values for each of these values:
Dirt - 1 EMC
Gravel - 4 EMC
Clay - 16 EMC
Clay Block - 64 EMC (if we asume that it's EMC is a combination of 4 pieces of clay)
Iron Ingot - 256 EMC
Gold Ingot - 2048 EMC
Diamond - 8192 EMC
it is ready for 1.4.2, there just isn't a posted version.
aka: if you want it you'll have to compile it yourself.
see BC's github for source: https://github.com/S...ngir/BuildCraft
I would love to have a pre from buildcraft 1.4.2 version, but i do not know really to compile it for my self :(...
hey pahimar i believe i found a bug when ever you put coal in the couldren looking thing (sorry couldn't member name) the game crashes without even a bug report

correction its if you shift click it does tried it again but still didn't get a report

Yeah that's definently just a bug. A lot of mods have issues when it comes to shift-clicking items into inventories. Like for example, you can't even shift-click stuff into the of the top slot of IndustrialCraft 2 machines.
i like where you're going with the re-balance and all but i do like my condensers (never cared too much for red matter or collectors though)and i hope you reconsider putting those back in but keep up the great work anyways!
I can't stop Vanilla mechanics - that's how the game works. However I do take issue with your idea that I do owe you something. I put this up here for you to use/try, and yes you can comment on it. But I DO NOT owe you anything. No modder does. We are offering for you something to try and play with. We spent our free time working on these things; time we could have spent with our families, our friends, or on other hobbies. I haven't gamed in months because of this. I take time away from my family and friends for this. The idea that I owe you something because I am offering something to you for free is utterly insulting.
If I were to be a baker offering you free cookies, and you take one and you don't like something about it, I am not obligated to go and make it differently for you. Think about it rationally.
You are entitled to your opinion. I am entitled to consider it, or ignore it.
That is fine. In fact I could not agree with you more. But let me extend your analogy a bit.
You are a baker making free cookies. Actually, until today you have been making free chocolate chip cookies. Today I come in and you give me free peanut butter cookies.
I tell you I like chocolate chip cookies and I am not a fan of peanut butter. You are totally free to consider my opinion and ignore it if you like. If you don't care that I don't like them and continue to only provide free peanut butter cookies then I have several options.
1) I can go elsewhere for my cookies. Other people's cookies may not be as good.
2) I can make my own cookies. I may or may not enjoy baking.
3) I can eat whatever it is you have given me. Which I do not enjoy.
Of these things, the only stupid option is 3. Not speaking up in the first place leads to 3 anyway, so it is equally dumb. Speaking up or doing 1, or 2 are not morally wrong in any sense. They are an important part of the process. Free or paid.
If I want chocolate chip cookies and you don't want to give them to me, there is not a damn thing I can do about it. But that doesn't mean I should keep my mouth shut when you change the recipe. So I am really confused as to why people think that I *can* make demands at all. I also don't think, from what little I know of you, that you are the kind of person who only wants to hear from people that agree with him. So I am really awe struck that the suggestions I have made (because they are not capable of being demands since I have no leverage over you) get such a hostile reception and perception. Equally mind boggling is that when I say that I am not going to eat your peanut butter cookies because I don't like them, people get upset. It is just this weird fanboi mindset where a different opinion is not tolerated.
Anyways, I have spent too much time on this and if you choose to ignore what I have said, then oh well. If you do take them into account then great.
OK, I do applaud the efforts to make this mod more fun, but whatever you're planning should be mind blowing in order to justify the removal of Collectors and Condensers. However, as long as the Alchemical Bag, Talisman of Repair, and the Power Rings stay in tact, I feel I'll be alright without the Collectors and Condensers.
@JadenWong you should be able to change keyboard settings through in-game menu.
I tryed this alredy: no portable crafting interface.... hm? I made a proper installation, disabled other mods, changed to other keys. Nothing helped so far.
EE stands for Equivalent Exchange. Equivalent Exchange recognizes the concept of taking one object and Exchanging it for it's Equivalent.
Which is what the condensor did. The problem was with energy collectors giving free EMC, and then all the other "free" EMC systems. Either those that abused effects of other mods, such as Blaze Rod/Bone macerator systems, or those that use minecraft systems (cobblestone, infinite milk farming, chicken eggs, melon/pumpkin farms, wheat farms, sheep shearing, etc, etc).
All these different systems had different levels of reliability, speed and construction cost. (I built a crude milking machine last night, and was shocked at how much EMC was eventually being produced - poor cows....)
Pahimar, I would suggest that crafted items (like furnaces, pistons, weapons, tools, etc) don't have EMC values. EE should be purely for the raw materials, not the blocks/items that you make from those materials.
I love the new update Pahimar, but why did you remove the Destruction Catalyst? If you said you would add it back in again, all good. If not, I am not allowed to complain. Thanks once again for an awesome mod, and thanks for deciding to finally add wires to EE!
I come from the days when Equivalent Exchange was just a very simple mod that had a philosopher's stone that raised up a wall of matter in front of you, and allowing you to return it into place, just as a simple searching tool. It has continued to create interesting mechanics, such as the glowstone aggregators, and the obsidian aggregators. When those items were removed in place for the collectors and condensers, everyone complained: I really mean 95% of the people that used the mod were saying, "Oh no! I want my aggregators!"
Look at where we are now? Is anyone mentioning the aggregators now? No. Albeit, it was a very slow machine, but I would like to think that the aggregators, as well as the collectors, are NOT the major attraction of the mod: the fact that you could exchange your useless stuff for something that you need is. Before the collectors, the pedestals; heck, before the gems and a kick-ass watch, this mod was primarily on being able to exchange stuff equally. If anything, this is your chance to experience how the mod used to be, but this time there won't be so many random bugs (or a programmer who's record for updating the mod was 20 times in a single day - go z3n0!)
I am probably rambling more than I am forming coherent sentances (with any degree of spelling), but I would like to close with this: what would you be doing if you did not have a collector? Mine? Good - that is all.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Life sometimes hits people hard ... sometimes you do better getting back up again than not getting hit at all. -WayofTime
Seems awesome.
The only thing that makes me worry is that red matter and condensers are removed.so how do we transmute like we did with the condenser? also is there gonna be blue matter? xD

If you really want to find a pre-release version, you can find it. Just gotta dig around.
Looking forward to seeing what's next with this mod.
One of my favorite so far is the ability to smelt 7 Ores in the crafting grid (with coal and the Minium Stone)
As it's written in the changelog I should be able to open the portable crafting interface with "C", while holding the minium stone.
But it's not working for me. Is there an option to change the extra key or edit a config file?

I did, i googled, i searched the forum, i looked on the offical buildcraft side, cant find any of the 1.4.2 pre ... only pre for 1.3.2
From my servers mods: here you go!
A double resolution texture pack that stays faithful to the original Minecraft textures.

Seems a little redundant, but whatever floats your boat I guess.
