No, the server MUST have the mod installed. It is impossible. Period. The vanilla server does not ever tell the client health information, only if something is alive, hurt or dead.
I placed the mod in the Forge 'mods' folder, and it doesn't appear to be doing anything at all. I also had the TooManyItems and Recipe Book mods installed at the time... Any idea how to get it to work?

Fix for the player fix that broke Entities that use a superclasses renderer(like witches). Added a config option to enable the old style portrait frame.
Tweak to increase performance on servers.
Open the config, go to the portrait category, and change the line B:"Use Skin"=true to B:"Use Skin"=false
Most of these things you can do in other mods, and I am afraid of adding too many elements all in one mod, it may be too much for many people, and this mod is compatible with other HUD enhancement mods, so you can just drop in the ones you want.
I like the wolf idea, but first I need to see if such a thing is even possible. Even then, the information is server-side which would require larger update packets to be sent, and I like to keep everything as lightweight as possible. If a future feature gets added that is on my list, this will also inherently become possible, so just wait and see what happens.

Mine doesnt seem to work, i get the display and everything, but it doesnt show how much damage i've done and it shows the mob have full health untill they die, like if i hit a skeleton it does just say that it got 20 hearts left, and does not show that i've made any damage. Please, if anyone know why please help me

1:When i 1st installed it it was working fine,then i made a new world and my minecraft crashed.
i opened it again and the indicator for the health/potions in the left corner doesn't work anymore
2:also the mobs keep flashing and dissapearing infront of my eyes if i look at them for an angle,maybe i have to set something in Optifine?
3:Is there a fix for this or did i just do something wrong?
4:Is it possible that i broke the mod because of the insane enchantments i added to NPC shops with MCedit?
5:i do have difrent mods installed that add new mobs,so maybe that's the problem?(tale of kingdoms,divineRPG,TMI,Optifine and your mod)

DamageIndicators[1.4.5]v2.1.9.1 released, which should fix the graphical glitches(recreated and fixed). If you still have problems, delete your DIAdvancedCompatibility directory inside your config directory and restart. You are likely using old configs.

After you look away from them and the health bar from the top left corner goes away, the glitch stops. I am using the newest version for each mod and have installed both perfectly. This is something that needs to be fixed ASAP.

Yeah, the newest version should have reduced this however, it is due to sharing a renderer and locking the mob in place, either the portrait shakes or the in game one shakes, I am looking for a workaround.
I checked and the newest version does eliminate this entirely, please update

This version should fix the last bug plaguing some people in the recent releases. Please post if anyone has further problems.
