I have downloaded the latest Forge .804, the latest 1.16.4. and have installed both on the server (in the other room) and client systems.
In a local game, I can drop the new enchanting table without difficulty and see the new mod enchanting screen.
In the server survival game
- the vanilla table shows the vanilla interface.
- Crafting the "Table Upgrage" appears craftable, but I cannot acquire the item, it "rubber bands" back onto the crafting table.
- the same happens with the "Enhanced Table"
also, where/how do I configure the server. I have read that the new version is "server configurable", but have no idea how to do this. Perhaps this is the issue.

The server config file is located in the config file in wherever the server is located (like for a folder called "Server" it would be /server/config/EnchantingPlus.cfg). The config file in your client folder MUST be the exact same thing, or it won't work. However, I feel that the mod was not correctly installed on the server because none of the features are working on the server.

Thank you for pointing me to this file. It was different between the server and the workstation, noteably, the IDs were not included in the server file. I copied the workstation file to the server and am still experiencing the same "rubber band" effect with the new table. If the server file did not generate item ID numbers, would if be that the Forge installer is not running properly, thus not loading EPlus? I used the Forge installer package, pointed it to correct directory and let it fly. How can I check if it is installed and loading mods from the server?

Let me start off by saying that the concept of this mod is great. Enchanting in Vanilla Minecraft is so token and hollow that I don't even bother to use tools better than stone unless I'm mining diamonds, redstone, or obsidian. Grinding 30 levels just to get Knockback 1 on your new Diamond Sword, I'm sure everyone knows how stupid randomness can be. That's why I love this mod. It takes something arduous and turns it into a goal you can strive for, because you know your efforts will yield something worthwhile.
But I am more than a little concerned with the direction this mod is taking.
Everything was going great until recently. I had just installed version 1.16.4. Being able to disenchant or add to enchants on items that were damaged was fixed, good. Config file was added, good. Then, all of a sudden, new blocks and items were added, not good. Albeit only two of them (with the same essential cost at that), I think it sort of derails the original concept of what made this mod great.
First of all, I am not complaining about the cost of upgrading the enchanting table. It's actually pretty fair, and I don't mind investing materials to get something I know will be good. But why? Why did you have to add a new block? Why did you have make it a custom texture?
I get it, people were abusing the system. Getting back levels for free, manipulating enchantments past their normal limitations, but I can't be the only person who feels that the people who did that were in the minority. Taking advantage of the kind of loopholes that must have prompted some of the recent changes could only have broken the game for that person's self. And even if it was on a server, don't they have some sort of control over someone who is [hyperbole] getting Power X and Flame X on a bow and one shotting moderators in full enchanted diamond armor? [/hyperbole]
I know this seems a little bit more of a ramble than anything, so let me clarify.
1. Making the system that Enchanting Plus uses require a new block with a custom texture invalidates the original feel of the mod and basically just makes people who like texture packs feel bad.
2. Not being able to disenchant items not enchanted using Enchanting Plus' system invalidates any use of the normal enchanting table and only truly punishes people who find pre-enchanted items from mobs or chests, or someone who used the normal enchanting table.
I'm confused. I really am. Why were these changes necessary? How were people getting super enchants without other mods like Not Enough Items installed? How were they doing this even if they did have it installed but the server didn't? Why the total lockdown of random loot you would find while exploring? Why is it fair that I just have to keep this Iron Sword with Knockback 1 just because a Zombie dropped it?
I don't know how to code Java anymore. I know even less about coding a mod for Minecraft, especially since 1.6 came out. I understand things don't always translate so literally, but the way I can see it, there is a very simple solution.
1. Don't allow players to modify an item with enchantments not obtainable by the default enchanting table or Enchanting Plus.
2. Make disenchanting items not enchanted by Enchanting Plus give 0 levels back regardless of the source.
Number 1 is optional, and only really necessary on servers where a player somehow obtains an item like that. Number 2 will at least retain functionality without forcing players to throw away crap items. And there is no explainable reason that I have found why any of this has to take place on an entirely new block. Enchanting Plus already overrode the default enchanting table, and even added in a way to use the old one in the interface. That was perfect. Was it so broken that it really needed to be fixed?
Trying to enchant things in Minecraft is so tedious that I don't even like to play without this mod, but now playing with this mod feels like it has more restrictions than the default does (even though I know it doesn't). I just want this mod to keep getting better. It was great just to start out with, an update should make things even more exciting, but now I dread it.
Hello, i dont like that the mod uses now a seperate item/block. I want to use the vanilla enchantment table and want to have an option where i can choose between vanilla or mod Table.
Please undo the item/block stuff or give us an option.
It is but it has to be installed serverside and clientside or it wont work

Please read the OP next time, it has the link to the Curse page right there. But here is the latest 1.6.2 link for you:

Took me some time to figure it out Looks like a nice mod now that it is working!
If you included what enchantment needs to be manually added, I could do that before next release.

It's already 1.6.2
