It apparently has to do with generating village loot chests. Since you're in a superflat world and villages generate heavily in those that explains it. In a "normal" world it'd still happen I guess just with far less occurence.
I tried creating a world with structures turned off to test what you said, and it crashed again with the same "bound must be positive" error.
The portal in the screenshot was before 1.1 on my testing world. The screenshot was to show the AoA notice board. The blueprint spawns in the destroyed portal or nothing at all with the sound playing.

for continuing Advent of Ascension. Seriously, the amount of bugs you’ve fixed
is INSANE. This mod has been sitting dormant for like 2 years and I’m glad it’s
finally getting some love. But, if you don’t mind, I do have some questions.
First, did Xolova leave any code in the mod files for his future plans? (New
items? Blocks? Code for the planned dimensions like the Labricon and Ethereus?)
Also, do you plan on implementing these features officially? Secondly, where do
you see this mod going? Is it continuing down the same path it's on, or are you
thinking bigger thoughts? Finally, a word of advice. I think you SHOULD update
to modern versions, BUT I also think you should continue to update on 1.7.10. I
know this is hard because of the drastic changes that have been going on and I
can’t even imagine how much work it is. But, most of the modding community
still occurs on 1.7.10. Big names like Orespawn, Divine RPG, Mutant Creatures, and
The Aether, have not been updated to 1.12.2 and most likely won’t. I think it
would be great if AoA 1.7.10 continued to receive bug fixes and new features so
that we could enjoy the new features as well as play with our other older mods.

In answer to your question regarding Xol's future stuff - I did recently receive some leftover assets and code, which I will be able to use. I do plan on implementing that stuff in the future, but it won't be a quick process, as you can probably expect.
For future direction - I want to keep the mod as close to the core of AoA as possible, because it's a mod that people already love!
My plans are to try and flesh out as much of the existing stuff as possible, such as:
More varied effects on weapons and magic
More things to do in dimensions and with mobs
Achievements
Improved combat
As for 1.12 vs 1.7.10 - It's problematic, because to do so would basically mean I would have to code everything twice, which means that every potential update would take basically twice as long. 1.7.10 is now 4 years old, and a lot of people have moved on to newer versions.
Given that this mod was dormant for 2 years already, I think giving it this last update and cleaning up all the bugs is a good place to leave it. It means that people essentially have a smooth experience playing it, even if it doesn't get continued content support.
If developers all stick to 1.7.10 simply because everyone else is, you'll have the problem like we currently do, where not as many people have newer version mods. Sometimes we as developers just have to take that step and go with it, and it'll get more and more support over time

I'm guessing you just updated to 1.1 and are playing on an old world? If so, 1.1 changed the way portals work. You need to generate new chunks (simply go somewhere you've never been before) and mine between y level 10-20 until you find a teleporter ruin. There should be a ghost that gives you a book there. The book should say how to build a portal (you would normally need to find treasure chests for the materials, but I think old portals have what you need). After that, scrap your old portal and build a new one following the instructions in the book.

upgrading to 1.8+ would be if anything, impossible i'd assume, due to the change in model types and such.
I'd love it for 1.12.2 nonetheless, though.(i don't see any purpose in me not upgrading just because some devs have weird preferences or stopped working on mods- i may love witchery and many other mods but the modded community should evolve/adjust, not sit down and take a rest on one version as it did for quite a while.)

Bugs I've found in Tslat-1.1.1:
1. The Hit "INSERT" to close on the AoA Notice Board doesn't show your custom control binding (Your custom control works, it just says INSERT)
2. Sometimes when you shift click one of the skill armor, it would let you wear it until you put another piece on you
3. When the skill armor unequips itself for not having that skill al lvl 100, it would sometimes create a duplicate piece of that armor
4. Sometimes the Ancient teleporter blueprint doesn't spawn in the new portal structure.
5. The /keepAllinventory Random Tip still exists
6. Their is a typo in the worn book "centre" and looks out of order
7. In the shyrelands, there are little or no mobs spawning unless they're near a spawn structure

The portal in the screenshot was before 1.1 on my testing world. The screenshot was to show the AoA notice board. The blueprint spawns in the destroyed portal or nothing at all with the sound playing.
for continuing Advent of Ascension. Seriously, the amount of bugs you’ve fixed
is INSANE. This mod has been sitting dormant for like 2 years and I’m glad it’s
finally getting some love. But, if you don’t mind, I do have some questions.
First, did Xolova leave any code in the mod files for his future plans? (New
items? Blocks? Code for the planned dimensions like the Labricon and Ethereus?)
Also, do you plan on implementing these features officially? Secondly, where do
you see this mod going? Is it continuing down the same path it's on, or are you
thinking bigger thoughts? Finally, a word of advice. I think you SHOULD update
to modern versions, BUT I also think you should continue to update on 1.7.10. I
know this is hard because of the drastic changes that have been going on and I
can’t even imagine how much work it is. But, most of the modding community
still occurs on 1.7.10. Big names like Orespawn, Divine RPG, Mutant Creatures, and
The Aether, have not been updated to 1.12.2 and most likely won’t. I think it
would be great if AoA 1.7.10 continued to receive bug fixes and new features so
that we could enjoy the new features as well as play with our other older mods.

In answer to your question regarding Xol's future stuff - I did recently receive some leftover assets and code, which I will be able to use. I do plan on implementing that stuff in the future, but it won't be a quick process, as you can probably expect.
For future direction - I want to keep the mod as close to the core of AoA as possible, because it's a mod that people already love!
My plans are to try and flesh out as much of the existing stuff as possible, such as:
More varied effects on weapons and magic
More things to do in dimensions and with mobs
Achievements
Improved combat
As for 1.12 vs 1.7.10 - It's problematic, because to do so would basically mean I would have to code everything twice, which means that every potential update would take basically twice as long. 1.7.10 is now 4 years old, and a lot of people have moved on to newer versions.
Given that this mod was dormant for 2 years already, I think giving it this last update and cleaning up all the bugs is a good place to leave it. It means that people essentially have a smooth experience playing it, even if it doesn't get continued content support.
If developers all stick to 1.7.10 simply because everyone else is, you'll have the problem like we currently do, where not as many people have newer version mods. Sometimes we as developers just have to take that step and go with it, and it'll get more and more support over time

I have a question hopefully someone can answer. When i click of The antient teleported with the a realmstone it says “this teleported does not have enough power”. Does it need a while to power up or somthing. Im confused
If it gives that message, it means that the portal is not built correctly.
The portal needs to be 6 blocks tall, 5 blocks wide, and contain:
One Carved rune of direction in any location in the frame
One Carved rune of reality in any location in the frame
One Carved rune of space in any location in the frame
One Carved rune of travel in any location in the frame
One Carved rune of power, located exactly in the middle block at the bottom of the frame.
Exactly 13 other ancient stone blocks to make up the rest of the frame.
The instructions can be found in the worn book found at any ancient portal structure underground by helping out the portal ghost.

I'm guessing you just updated to 1.1 and are playing on an old world? If so, 1.1 changed the way portals work. You need to generate new chunks (simply go somewhere you've never been before) and mine between y level 10-20 until you find a teleporter ruin. There should be a ghost that gives you a book there. The book should say how to build a portal (you would normally need to find treasure chests for the materials, but I think old portals have what you need). After that, scrap your old portal and build a new one following the instructions in the book.
My ideas for the 1.7.10 situation:
1. Someone else converts new versions to 1.7.10
2. Scimiguy releases the 1.12.2 version first, then releases a 1.7.10
3. When Scimiguy is done with adding more content, then he can convert AoA to 1.7.10
(These are my suggestions that I came up with)
(Also, I think the portal should be 5 blocks tall instead so it matches the same portal shape from older versions)

upgrading to 1.8+ would be if anything, impossible i'd assume, due to the change in model types and such.
I'd love it for 1.12.2 nonetheless, though.(i don't see any purpose in me not upgrading just because some devs have weird preferences or stopped working on mods- i may love witchery and many other mods but the modded community should evolve/adjust, not sit down and take a rest on one version as it did for quite a while.)
