Would it be possible to have sheathed items on the side of your character, should you have a cape? It'd have to be on the left side of your character, since everyone's right handed.

I second this idea. It would be cool to have a cape on your back and a sheathed tool at your side (would have to be smaller though).
If it is possible could you hide the item on your back when you have an invisibility effect on, i found out its really hard to kill people when you sword is on your back
does this work on a server?, im getting a crash when i try to put it on a server

try reading the part where it says the mod is client side only and can not be installed on a server... maby thatll help youneed a hd texture pack fix. contacting jeb to tell him about this mod... needs to be in vanilla
It works only with vanila, IC and Portal stuff...? Not so practical...
It works with a variety of mods, which if you find one that you feel should be on your back, is not, you can request it be added here. Over time it'll grow bigger and bigger and more mods supported.
Anyways, any PRACTICAL modder would extend ItemTools for their tools like pickaxes swords etc. that's why tool mods like metallurgy 2 and even redpower's gem tools, appear on the back.
could you make this mod check if the tool is still in your inventory?
because its weird walking around with an iron sword on your back when you don't have one
Well the reason for this, which i found out harshly is that on multiplayer, the player itself only has ONE inventory item, and that's the item they're currently holding.
Compatibility with ninja mod? I noticed it didn't work, please add compatibility! I hope you can! This is a nice mod!
I've checked out the ninja mod, unfortunately it is a modloader mod, which has its package files in net.minecraft.src This makes it a bit more difficult to add support for since that name gets obfuscated as well.
Possibly, if you could ask the mod author to make the items extend itemtools or itemsword, it could be done the other way
glass pains show up on the players back im mp. please fix its probably the same for ssp also
No they don't? I just tried it out.

Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
If you're going to PM me, please read this first...
I have a suggestion. When you hold arrows, then switch there could be a quiver on your back. That would be nice. Also maybe make the shears smaller? because i don't think shears are actually as big as your back 0.o

I've just read the above, does that mean it would be difficult to fix the mattock item in the Better Than Wolves mod? I know i've posted this earlier, but I just thought i'd post it again incase it was missed.
Although all the other tools in the mod work correctly, here is what it looks like when I switch from the mattock:

Here's a link
Support for mods will still be here though! I'll get to them when I can!
I'll get to that invisibility issue soon! RichardG has been bugging the hell outta me.

I had to make do with what i could :/

AWESOME MOD IDEA! INSTALLING NOW. Disabled on players with capes/cloaks though

I'll look into this.
