Just a question, I think it won't but can magic damage penetrate quantum armor?
During a recent episode on Forgecraft2 Direwolf20 spawned an archane guardian. Dire was wearing gravi-chestplate/quantum gear as I recall and he didn't seem to take damage so much as just instantly die... several times.

He was wearing Modular Powersuit armor, not quantum gear. And yes, he got one-shotted by it while wearing the armor, while trying to attack it in melee. Regular armor isn't as effective against magical damage, and that's all MPS armor is - normal armor (even if you can get LOTS of it.)
i have some ideas for spells. 1. sound wave? what it does: makes a large wave that knocks back and deals damage to all things in a radius, and destroys glass. type: sound or ender or arcane 2. phoenix's final inferno? what it does: when at 2 hearts or less, fire appears in a 30x30 square around you, then disappears after a while. type: fire 3. light burst? what it does: makes all player's screens in a 10x10? radius have their screens turn white, and no mob in that radius can move for about 2 seconds. type: light or lightning 4. magnet pull? what it does: all items that have to do with iron go flying into your inventory, and maybe give you iron armor? type: earth 5. thunder charge? what it does: damages people and activates redstone/tnt, even if the tnt is in a person that's been struck's inventory. type: lightning 6. wither pick? what it does: weakens diamond/iron picks to stone, weakens gold/stone picks to wood. type: time or ender 7. bound armor what it does: exactly what the title says. type: earth? 8. block shot? what it does: click on a block and all blocks in front of it (and it) will shoot straight forward until they hit another block, pushing mobs and players with them along the way. the blocks will stop if they go too far, and they will suffocate things if the blocks hit another block and there is a mob/player in between. type: earth 9. wither armor? what it does: exactly like wither pick, but with armor. type: time or ender 10. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE? what it does: makes a short, high pitched EEEEEEEEEE sound that doesn't do damage, but might distract players and makes mobs spasm out for a bit. type: sound or arcane 11. time freeze? what it does: for about 5-10 seconds, in a certain radius only you can move. type: time or ice 12. wither beam? what it does: beam that when hits, causes wither. type: time or ender 13. ignore? what it does: you can't attack, but players and mobs will ignore you. type: arcane 14. summon sand wyrm what it does: summons a sand wyrm that goes underground and attacks while underground. dies if exposed to air. type: earth 15. teleport what it does: exactly what the title says. type: ender 16: reinforce boat? what it does: makes boat unbreakable for a bit. type: water 17: teleblock? what it does: any player/endie in a certain radius can't teleport, allowing for all projectiles to hit endermen. type: ender 18. ghostify? what it does: for a few seconds, you can noclip and all mobs/players/attacks will go through you. type: air 19. sunlight what it does: destroys all undead mobs in a certain radius. type: fire or light 20. tree rip? what it does: destroys all trees in a certain radius. type: earth or plant. 21. mage swap what it does: turns all dark mages in a certain radius to light mages and vice versa. type: ender or arcane 22. Time beam? what it does: A beam that when you hit something with it, it gets slow and takes damage. Type: Time or Arcane 23. Gravity swap What it does: Flips all mobs upside-down and sends them flying if directly exposed to sunlight Type: Ender or Arcane 24. Block barrage? What it does: Basically, a wall of about 24-30 blocks forms around you, then fires them at opponents yellow devil-style. Blocks do some nasty damage and suffocate you for a bit, and form into a wall to block opponents. Type: Earth
new types: sound and light/time.
maybe you can add a couple to AM2? Also, I reposted this because no one noticed it and I added a few more.
When will you update this mod? I like it but minecraft forge only has an installer for 1.6.2/later.(I've tried manual installation but it won't work for some reason.)

Just a lazy workaround for this: try basing it on a FTB server 1.5.2
I am aware of the wisp bug and I am working on it. You could try editing the save file so that HasGeneratedArchmageTower and HasSpawnedArchmageTower are both false - that will cause a new one to be generated somewhere else, and the wisps will go to that tower.
I'm running a 1.5.2 FTB magic based server (AM, no obvious tech - just Forestry), and the players and I have searched for weeks... Yes, weeks. Very thorough +/- 3000 from spawn, with many forays out to +/- 10000 from spawn. I even implemented Dynmap to review all the generated chunks to see if anyone just missed it. I'm fearful that the AM tower did not spawn. Is there a way to verify that it did get generated? If not, could you elaborate on exactly where the flags HasGeneratedArchmageTower, and HasSpawnedArchmageTower are, and how exactly (which tool) one might edit them? I'm using Biomes, O' Plenty -- so standard map editors tend to die violently. I searched through the world folder, but I don't see any place where world data (for the above flags) are not embedded in the binary files. It would be on my wish list to have some administrative tools to better manipulate some of these things.

Just curious, have you tried using the method of locating the tower that is built into AM? You know... befriend a magical creature and follow your new friend on an adventure across the land to the focus of magic in the world.

Spawning that friend is a different issue. We also have Mo's creatures, with custom spawning engine, which gets complicated. I've had to tune monster spawning in every zone otherwise the players end up in periods of non-stop combat, or buried in non-hostiles. The Nether was hell. I've been playing around with the configs trying to get AM wisp spawns -- even rarely. We also had Grimoire of Gaia for awhile, but without sounds to alert players, they were just mob fodder too often. I'm trying to find that fun balance between exciting, and terrifying.
I looked up the spawn in NBTExplorer, and it did spawn, just outside the range that had been explored. It is about 2500 NW of spawn as the bat flies, in the center of a huge ocean. I can assure the players then that they will find it eventually. Unless they read this... and then they will find it presently.

If this is the wrong place to report a bug, then I'm sorry. The post never said to put one in a certain place.
From what I can tell, there is no ID conflicts. I have checked them and they say something about a bus frequently. Could someone lend me a hand with this?
Your buildings seem to be in some kind of adventure control, where you can't break them. How do you change that? I'd like to take one of the structures to make it my home. But I can't add or remove blocks, making it impossible to do so. Is there a tweak in the config that I can change that?
Break the tower protector and you can do whatever you like with the tower. It's black and gold and purple, though is hidden in most towers. You'll have to do some searching to find it. Certain spells may be needed to find it as well.
Your Beening Lazy Update To 1.6.4 and I Won't Call You Lazy
You obviously don't understand the meaning of patience and he will NEVER again update ars magica because he is working on ars magica 2. oh yeah and don't call Mithion lazy because you obviously don't know how to make mods. Mithion is working on ars magica 2 and at the same time on another mod so I don't see how that is being lazy.

From the patch notes in the first post for the most recent update to AM:
You obviously don't understand the meaning of patience and he will NEVER again update ars magica because he is working on ars magica 2. oh yeah and don't call Mithion lazy because you obviously don't know how to make mods. Mithion is working on ars magica 2 and at the same time on another mod so I don't see how that is being lazy.
That dosen't make any sense and peoples faces don't get version mismatches. And he is right ars magica is for 1.5.2 so that is a version mismatch.
