I'm not sure why, but none of my summons seem to want to do any fighting. I have no idea why. Especially my Shadow, even though i have spells he can cast. He doesnt even default to arcane bolt. My server is currently on 1.4.7 if tht mkes any difference.

Also, I was just wondering about your thoughts on allowing a Summoned Shadow to cast Stabilize Vortex if you have a copy of it and there is an active spell creation vortex extremely nearby (ie: one you're working on or helping with) Whether that cost you more mana, or he has half the mana you do, or even if it only works with augmented Shadow Summons, i think it would be cool for the avenger SSP guy, or when working together. Or maybe the Lich could help, since he's more powerful it seems. though i think the Shadow would be more appropriate.
Small bug report: I have " I:Death_Mana_Levels_Lost=0" in my config, but when I die, my Ars-Magica level still goes down by one. I'm using the most recent development version, 5.50.010.

The 1.4.7 version is no longer supported - I have made several changes including ones to the AI and situational awareness / abilities of summoned creatures since then - my only recommendation is to update.
It's really cool to know that you're playing with the summoned shadow - it can be one of the most powerful summons if set up right, and it's one of my favourites It has a fair bit of utility too if you give it the right spells.

i was playing a costum msp called Inferno mines and i had this mod installed with Mo Creatures and the only mob that spawned was water elementals how do i fix or could you fix this as soon as you can
I would be nice to have an option for lost no mana levels on death. Normally it would go ok, but with tons of mobs and elites around, death lurks behind every corner... even in your fully lit house =) As told above, cant it be done easily? If its possible, can you implement it. Thank you for a great mod =)

This map, did it require any gameplay-changing mods, such as Ars Magica?
If no, then the best way to play adventure maps is without mods of any kind, if you want it to be bug-free.

Hi guys, I added Ars Magica to a pre-existing vanilla world. We have defeated the Ender Dragon but have not explored more than 1000 blocks away from spawn. As I enter newly generated chunks, I see Ars Magica structures being generated. My question is, will the Arch Mage tower spawn since I didn't have Ars Magica when I generated this world? I understand that there is only one per world and it can be anywhere within 10,000 blocks of spawn.
I am running the most recent release of ars magica for minecraft 1.5.1. The world was generated in 1.4.7.
Warp, the tower generates either upon the creation of the world (if you have Ars Magica when making it) or upon the first time the world is loaded with Ars Magica.
I've been playing with your mod and thaumcraft. They are both great. Now I have heard, from certain people that you guys may be doing compatibility stuff with eachothers mods? If it's true I do have one idea for you having the golems be uneffected by the dark nexus. I don't know about this version but the 1.4.7 version I played doesn't have that. I was orignally going to use a golem to pick up drops from the dark nexus but they get nomed up. That would be pretty cool. (assuming i'm right about you guys doing stuff together) ^ ^ anyways. it's awesome and a mod that I will def be using as long as it keeps getting updated!
I was exploring my 1.5.1 test world with the latest Ars installed and I found one of your structures. Inside, I have found an Ice affinity book. When I read it, I got a crash and now I can't get in my world at all. Crashes on load.
I have a decent amount of mods, I dunno if one of them might be causing compatibility issues.
I have been updating every mods as they get updates and trying Ars again after each updates and I'm still getting this crash. I've replicated it in a brand new world, so I don't think it's got something to do with a placed machine from my other world..
I have one question/suggestion:
there is a spell that works like a portable crafting table or something like that?
if there isn't, this would be a nice addition, i think...
I've been looking for a fix for a problem I have. Whenever I try and add Ars to FTB Ultimate pack, my game blackscreens. I've searched through the thread and googled this problem, but no luck

i seem to have an issue...did you accidentally or purposely replace the stone bricks in the mod's archmage tower with stone and regular brick stairs, and change the tower guardian's model? here's a couple pics of what i mean...i had to put them through gyazo, as i dont know any other methods... http://gyazo.com/727e7aedd11a252bc994f48d155c5859 http://gyazo.com/e1a14775ffaaa65a74b0f089fef4c8ef
i had optifine, NEI, rei's minimap, and invtweaks installed as well. i also noticed in the process, that the wisps didnt aim for the tower, and even testing it on augmented, after about 5 seconds they lost the charmed effect and stopped leading to anywhere. also, the towers seem to spawn either incredibly close to each other, or not any within about 200 blocks.
I use the latest version for 1.4.7 in my custom modpack on a server, and I keep crashing.
I get a lag spike, then minecraft crashes for no apparent reason, removing the mod fixes it.
Other people on the server don't have the problem.
Anyone know any fixes?
Well, a crash log would be helpful in solving your problem.

It will indeed generate for you. It will take quite a long time to find it though (usually) but you'll find it eventually. While you're searching, i'd suggest exploring some of those smaller towers as they can usually carry some very useful spells.

You're quite right, it is an error with red power, or more specifically red power machines. Try removing that(I believe it's red power mechanical) and you should be golden. However I know that most people can't live without redpower. Try adding it back in after running it without, if the problem persists without it, then post the (hopefully new) crashlog in the topic again.

I am running the most recent release of ars magica for minecraft 1.5.1. The world was generated in 1.4.7.
I have been updating every mods as they get updates and trying Ars again after each updates and I'm still getting this crash. I've replicated it in a brand new world, so I don't think it's got something to do with a placed machine from my other world..
I have one question/suggestion:
there is a spell that works like a portable crafting table or something like that?
if there isn't, this would be a nice addition, i think...

i had optifine, NEI, rei's minimap, and invtweaks installed as well. i also noticed in the process, that the wisps didnt aim for the tower, and even testing it on augmented, after about 5 seconds they lost the charmed effect and stopped leading to anywhere. also, the towers seem to spawn either incredibly close to each other, or not any within about 200 blocks.
Well, a crash log would be helpful in solving your problem.
It will indeed generate for you. It will take quite a long time to find it though (usually) but you'll find it eventually. While you're searching, i'd suggest exploring some of those smaller towers as they can usually carry some very useful spells.
You're quite right, it is an error with red power, or more specifically red power machines. Try removing that(I believe it's red power mechanical) and you should be golden. However I know that most people can't live without redpower. Try adding it back in after running it without, if the problem persists without it, then post the (hopefully new) crashlog in the topic again.
