This mod looks very interesting. The machines look like they could be very helpfull and I also like how you didnt neglect making them look nice too. I cant wait for the release of this. I will be sure to try this out when its released.
I was thinking with the potential for block drop lag make a portable storage item. have filters so if you pick up or drop with a spell (dig) an item that's in a filter section it will be stored but stored items can not be removed and must be converted into essence, maybe right-click on the essence circle thingy and the items will fly out and be converted. Have different tiers with different capacities as well.
On a last note this mod looks awesome keep up the good work!

That's not a bad idea, though there's actually a couple of ways to get around this already:
There's a summon that's in development called a Chest Golem, which will run around and grab items. It will follow you, and the pathfinding is pretty decent considering the nature of the game. However, it will not be included in the initial release; as there are still too many bugs with it.
You alternately could use an ender chest.
I may add something along the lines of "void storage" that you can call up via a spell to store things in, but I'm not sure how I would go about doing that, feature-wise. Balance is always a large concern of mine.
Just let me know if you need some Beta testers when this comes out. I would love to help. Also i have a question. Will their be more machines that you have to build like the nexus? I really like the concept of having to actually build stuff then just throwing items in a crafting table.

There are a few other machines of that nature in the power system. Most of them are involved with power transfer currently, and in keeping the power system stable. I'm working on a couple more concepts, but they won't be in until after release.
To life spell:
Gives life to specific structures, For example. using it on a tree will make it a walking tree, using it on a chest will make is a trunk with legs, etc.
This would defenetly be an awesome spell, I can just see a forest following me around xD
Thanks!

Are you really commenting this? It is so far away from thaumcraft it isnt even funny, and apparently its impossible to make something decent without it being "Copying" someone.
So, you either like the mod or you don't, but NEVER say something is a copy of something else.

Stop treating mod devs poorly. These people mod as a hobby or as a service to the community, they don't have to take your suggestion and you are not entitled to anything from them.
Theres been a lot of comments saying how awesome this mod is, but I reallly need to say it, Its one of the most beautifull/usefull mods I've seen. I can see this mod get to those "must play mods", to the likes of buildcraft industrialcraft and all that. It just need to get some "fame", please, consider contacting Direwolf20, this seems the kind of mod he would spotlight and/or play, and his dozens of thousands of fans would spread the word like crazies.
I can also offer myself as a beta tester, even though you must have dozens of offerings already ;D but it's worth the try.
Thanks for the suggestion - I'll definitely get in touch with DireWolf20 once I have a version he could play around with!
I'm going to be putting up a notice on the original post regarding beta testers shortly. I think you'll like what you read
Hello Mithion I love testing out mods and seeing how great they are and spreading the word so i was wondering if i could be a Mod Beta tester for this mod. You can email me or reply to this but if your going to email me this is my email [email protected]
Thank you
Interesting... at this time, the only two "magic mods" that are BIG big are Thaumcraft and Equivalent Exchange. These both added more than just the generic magic, could be used in automation, and had a catchy name.
The thing is, most of the generic magic mods don't have catchy names. They have names like Magicraft or Spellcraft. Ars Magica is something that will stand out, and that might be something that'll give it lots of attention.
Will spells be bound to scrolls? If so, it gives it that "item-dependent" minecraft feel, while also feeling "magical." That's a vanilla feel.
The foci system sounds pretty cool, but what about the machines? Will they be able to repair, create, and be linked together for automation? That would definitely be cool.
All in all, though, I like this mod and think it has potential. No mod that simply adds magical spells so far has become popular and stayed that way, but those mods didn't have graphics to rival Thaumcraft, a keeping of the vanilla feel, and might not have been the best planned.
I'm sorry if I seem a bit harsh, or a bit unapproving, or downright offensive. This mod has loads of potential, after all, and definitely seems well thought out and balanced. Building on the shoulders of giants has almost always worked well, so I'd suggest getting in touch with Pahimar and Azanor while they're still working on starting their mods and talk about integration. That will guarantee Ars Magica a place in history as a great mod.
Of course, it's your choice what you want to integrate with or not.
If not a place in history, it'll still be a great mod in my opinion.
I hope I didn't offend you by making too many presumptions or too harsh criticism. Please accept any apologies in advance.

In terms of spell suggestions, I am a huge fan of Paladins and their associated light magic. If you could design one or two spells along these lines such as buffing+healing or something more creative and interesting than that I would be very happy. This looks like the best mod of its kind so far, so I'm really looking forward to the release.
Good job and good luck

Healing and buffing spells are already a part of the spell list, though they're not really associated with "light" magic, per se.
You have your standard heal self and heal other, regeneration buffs, but then there's also a couple spells I have in the works, a Smite spell and one called Resplendent Circle. Some of these might be able to thematically relate to a Paladin.
On a last note this mod looks awesome keep up the good work!

In its initial release, no, it will not be Bukkit compatible.
Thank you
