I notice that you say this mod is incompatible with Optifine on the front page. Are there future plans to try and fix the incompatibility issues and if so is there an ETA? That's really the only thing stopping me from installing this mod right now.

I am also curious about this, as I do have Optifine installed and haven't noticed any problems.
You can play the mod fine with Optifine. It is just that some people run into issues while playing with the two mods together. Most people usually don't fall into that category though.

Mithion- is there any chance of an NEI plugin that show the essence values as a tooltip? (like the EU tooltips from IC2) If there is, do you have an ETA for it?

a note on the empowerment table, i found that when i was wearing the gravi chest plate and it was on or not fully charged it would crash the game so now i just take it off when i go to level up and have not crashed since. hope that helps out.
A suggestion [more for GrammieFi, since I think he/she is the one that made the schematics for the structures]: put normal doors on the tower with eight iron doors. Many mods make it possible to get iron from them, and eight at a time gives you half a stack for free.

Still need to explore and mine them, and for things like RedPower you still need to cook them to retrieve the iron. So its not like its OP or anything, if anything you would be better off complaining to the other mods author about the free iron conversion if that is the case.
Hi Mithion, signed up for an account because this is probably the only place I'll get an answer. Is there a way to control the spawn rates of the Ars Magica mobs? I mean they are EVERYWHERE. I built a mobtower in a Void Mystcraft world and all it does is fill with Mana Creepers and Light/Dark Mages with a few average zombies and Angry Zombies (TC3).
Is there a way to do it now, or a way coming out? It's getting a little frustrating.
I've lowered the spawn rates in the next update, as well as added in functionality specific to EBXL using their API (though I am still tweaking it).
For the time being, there are mods that allow you to control the spawn rates of all mobs; they also work with Ars Magica mobs. I would recommend you use one of them in the meantime.
Hey Mithion. I'd just like to point out that I've been using the latest version of Optifine with Ars Magica (and a bunchload of other mods) with success. So you might feel confident re-evaluating your Optifine compatibility. To be specific, I'm using Optifine for 1.4.6 (running on 1.4.7) Standard Edition B4.
Only crash I've gotten was trying to use Growth on a mod plant, but that's probably not an isssue with your mod. Though annoyingly, I lost my entire spellbook as a result...

Now that I understand this mod, and I got my what I thought were problems all sorted out, this mod absolutely rocks! I'm still a bit lost in the machinery aspect, but the mage levels/spell system is beyond anything I have ever seen in Minecraft before!

I get the same error with Blastcraft.
It doesn't even happen every time either, it's just "random".
Are you using this on 1.4.6? That problem disappeared for me when I updated to 1.4.7
