The mod was always a client side mod. Installing the mod on the servers adds additional features that are otherwise impossible.

The SchematicaPlugin send very specific data to the client that disables parts of the mod. Unless PermissionsEx has support for those it will not work.

I didn't test it, but it does seem to send the proper handshake to disable the features.

That's the old method that is no longer supported.

This happens often when Optifine is present. Try toggling VBOs on/off in the settings.

No. Servers can already disable parts of the mod, there is no need for a separate version.

Also, the block placement range is the same as the player range. Schematica does not change it.
