Potions don't work. There's no timer on them. You can brew them, but that's it. Drinking them does nothing.
Fixed in v1.0.4.6PR. Thank you for reporting. I entered the formular incorrectly, so that instead of producing a large number of ticks it produced a very small number, which was truncated.

Not to pile on, but I was wondering if i could request that you add the option for items to go into the tombstone instead of being dropped all over the place in combination with the options above.
I am currently running Hexxit and we would like a less "messy" death that still contains risk ( Corps run ). My ideal would be i set all items to drop into the tombstone, but i set a slightly harsher XP and durability loss on the items. Would make for loss but less time wasted trying to sort everyone's stuff

A detailed walkthrough of the error, its code path and all known details is as follows:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I noticed on your entry the idea that to reclaim the items, they may pop out in the world. Please do not, lol, Really, we hate having to sort our stuff between the party to get everyone stuff back IMO, so any dropping in the world would be sub-optimal. Keep it in some sort of chest like GUI so we can pick it up, and or have a "loot all" button as-well. I do like the loot indicator though.
Nope, still doesn't fix it. Potions still have no timer. Can be brewed, but do nothing.
They do for me. ProjectZuluCompleteV1.0.4.6, Forge 7.8.0.688. I also happen to have BiomeOPlenty v0.5.5, Mystcraft 0.10.400, and JAS 0.9.4.
Your going to need to provide more information. A log couldn't hurt. Ensure you grabbed the right version. Check if its happening due to some other mod installed conflicting with somehow.
While playing around with potions (on version PZ1.0.4.5PR) my client crashes with the following error:

2013-07-06 15:37:16 [INFO] [Minecraft-Client] Stopping!
I know it mentions in the error that it cannot be cast into a buildcraft pipe, but just to clarify that it was not connected to a pipe nor near one.
The client crashes upon entry into the world after the initial crash.
Hope you can help. Thanks in advance Posted Image
So, its great your telling me what wasn't happening, but what actually was happening would be infinitely more useful (steps to reproduce). Also a log. What version of buildcraft? Were you interacting with the brewing stand?
I noticed on your entry the idea that to reclaim the items, they may pop out in the world.
Please do not, lol, Really, we hate having to sort our stuff between the party to get everyone stuff back IMO, so any dropping in the world would be sub-optimal.
Keep it in some sort of chest like GUI so we can pick it up, and or have a "loot all" button as-well. I do like the loot indicator though.
2c
I'm not favouring a chest-like GUI primarily because I do not want it functioning like a chest. The loot all option is the most likely to be done: I've been playing a lot of dark souls recently and really love how simple and effortless it is to "recover".
The crash log I posted is the only one that generated (minus mod list etc.)
Forgive me, the log I refereed to was the ForgeModLoader-client-0 log (or similarly named one for a Forge Server). It is a log that 99% of mods use to dump any form of logging (even information that is not strictly an errror, but may be something indicating a problem or useful to know). Its located in your .minecraft folder (or the equivalent in your launcher or choice). It is typically quite large, so http://pastebin.com/ or http://paste.minecraftforge.net/ or equivalent may be needed.
The minecraft crash reports, while not completely useless, are really only helpful in a limited number of situations (and are always redundant once a log is provided).
The crash happened while brewing a shiny bauble in the triple stand with three water bottles. Crashed at the exact point the brewing stage ended. I'm using buildcraft version 3.7.1. Forge Version 7.8.1.738.
I was wearing full diamond armor, and was wearing my hair in a subtle yet dandy style. The sun was just rising over the mountains behind the window where I placed the stand...
If you need any more information I can reload the backup world with the crash on or try to recreate it when I get more time later.
From your description, it is likely an ItemID conflict (unlike blockID conflicts, itemIds to not cause a crash) between the PZCustomPotion and the build craft pipe/item. Such that when you brew the water and are supposed to get the PZCustomPotion (the item that contains the brewing potion) you instead get the rail craft pipe. The forgemodloader log should be able to confirm it, look for something like (but of course with different Items):
2013-07-06 17:09:53 [INFO] [STDOUT] CONFLICT @ 9043 item slot already occupied by projectzulu.common.blocks.ItemZuluArmor@58e14ffc while adding projectzulu.common.blocks.ItemAloeVeraSeeds@6848bec3
Note that, assuming this is the problem, changing the PZ potion will not 'fix' the error, as the Tile Entity will already have the buildcraft item inside it. You seem to just be moving on from a previous build or such so this may not be worth it. You could edit out via nbt the brewing stand itself. Or temporarily disable brewing stand block (set blockID to 0) so that it gets removed. Changing the build craft itemID itself should also remove the error, though it would replace up all instances of that item.
I'm not favouring a chest-like GUI primarily because I do not want it functioning like a chest. The loot all option is the most likely to be done: I've been playing a lot of dark souls recently and really love how simple and effortless it is to "recover".
Not sure what the aversion to a chest like interface, but loot all is just fine too. Looking forward to the addition.
I haven't tested all potions, apologies. Seems that only some potions are missing the timer. Like haste, resistance, mining fatigue, regeneration, poison, weakness and I'm sure a few others. There's like 1000000000000000 potions in NEI
I am reasonably sure it is fully resolved now. Foolish mistake. Try 1.0.4.7PR (same link).
Just to chime in on the gravestone possible addition. Are you going to leave it as an option to keep it as it is? Quite a few mods add similar functionality already but for myself it would render a favorite item from thaumic tinkerer useless. I like the idea but I also prefer to have some resource cost associated with it.
I do like the damage applied to armor/items options on death though. I'll have a play around with that as that could a nice and nasty punishment enough for dieing.
Nice. I enjoy the aesthetic of the gravestone and collecting them to add to my ever growing cemetery. I should of just assumed it would be a config option given your (appreciated) propensity for them.
On another note: I can't seem to create splash potions using your brewing stands. Now this could certainly be something I missed as I never really played with vanilla potions much let alone yours. Would I be right to assume it is the same as vanilla (gunpowder to a brewed potion), or is there some other way I've overlooked?
I can't see it on the charts you posted.
Thanks.
It is supposed to be gunpowder. It appears to be broken.

There are a few mods that do it. But the reason I asked for it here, is because this mod is part of Hexxit. And for the sake of ease of use, and to not require manual installs of mods outside of hexxit by users I made the request.
I also fully support the idea that the tombstone Inv idea be toggled off by default as many people may already have solutions, or just don't want to use it.
Yes, I mean on death. To reproduce, have someone whose name is longer than 10 characters drop a gravestone. It will show the first 10 characters of their name on all four lines of the gravestone. I am unsure if the number of chars would vary if there were letters that took up less space, such as 'I's. All I know is that all of my death gravestones say 'ferrettoma' on every line.
It should, though i didn't test it. I no longer touch the vanilla potion class or brewing stand at all.
By request, gamerules to customize death. By default they are disabled and do nothing.
Add Gamerules to configure death drops. dropArmor, dropInventory, dropHotbar, and dropXP. For optimal use enable vanilla gamerule keepInventory.
Configuration settings located under General Controls.gamerule_settings in ProjectZuluConfig.cfg

Wow. you work fast. Kudos sir... Kudos!

I like the idea, not sure when I'll get a chance to do it.

This mod is not 1.6 compatible yet. I should have a build done tonight, tomorrow at the latest. All that's left is sound.
So, its great your telling me what wasn't happening, but what actually was happening would be infinitely more useful (steps to reproduce). Also a log. What version of buildcraft? Were you interacting with the brewing stand?
I'm not favouring a chest-like GUI primarily because I do not want it functioning like a chest. The loot all option is the most likely to be done: I've been playing a lot of dark souls recently and really love how simple and effortless it is to "recover".
Understandable, I was probably snippier than necessary. It can get frustrating sometimes how people seem to expect me to have a magic 8 ball.
Note that, assuming this is the problem, changing the PZ potion will not 'fix' the error, as the Tile Entity will already have the buildcraft item inside it. You seem to just be moving on from a previous build or such so this may not be worth it. You could edit out via nbt the brewing stand itself. Or temporarily disable brewing stand block (set blockID to 0) so that it gets removed. Changing the build craft itemID itself should also remove the error, though it would replace up all instances of that item.
Not sure what the aversion to a chest like interface, but loot all is just fine too. Looking forward to the addition.
I am reasonably sure it is fully resolved now. Foolish mistake. Try 1.0.4.7PR (same link).
like this or something similar because the chat overlap is pretty annoying in servers.
It will have a toggle. And only apply to items dropped via the custom gamerule added via http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1468127-15forgebuffarmor-bar-mods-project-zulu-better-overworld-v1039/page__st__1120#entry23181095 .

It is supposed to be gunpowder. It appears to be broken.
Fixed via Project Zulu v1.0.4.8PR
I also fully support the idea that the tombstone Inv idea be toggled off by default as many people may already have solutions, or just don't want to use it.
Wait, what?
I haven't forgotten. On the top of the list of things to do after I finish updating to 1.6.
