I'm having trouble. WorldDownloader works fine downloading sections of the world where I walk around. That bit works fine. The bit that doesn't currently work (with 1.4.7 and skmclauncher) is chest-saving. I click on "Download this world" and the world starts downloading. If I right-click on a chest, nothing turns up in the chat log. When I close it again, I also get no message in chat. I then select "Stop downloading", wait until it says "Your single player world is ready..." and I'm good to go. If I open up the saved singleplayer world, I get empty chests. So. Where do I start?
Edit: hmmm.... it seems that even though it's not reporting to chat any more, I am now getting saved chest contents. Weird, because when I was trying this two nights ago, it wasn't working. Still, I guess I have to save all my chests now.

I'm not sure what is going on there, but let me make a note about "If I right-click on a chest, nothing turns up in the chat log.". The older versions of this mod would chat a message every time it captured and saved the contents of a chest. I removed that because several people complained that the messages were distracting or whatever. It should still be saving even though you don't see the message. I think I'll add an option in the menu to allow debugging chat to be printed out while downloading.
To debug your problem, try using the mod without any other mods installed in a fresh Minecraft jarfile and let me know.
Similarly, I downloaded the mod for the first time tonight, and can confirm that it is indeed not downloading chest contents. The only mods I am running are Optifine and this, via the Magic Launcher.
My map takes huge Space and i want to delete the unused Chunks. So I tought the map downloader should work. Is there a way to use this mod in Singleplayer (or eventually if the map is hosted to Lan?)
Thank you
It definitely will not help you trim your map in single player. It might work in LAN mode but I don't think I've ever tried that. If you have access to the actual map/level directory, the easiest method would be to use MCEdit in chunk mode and just delete the chunks you don't want. Or, copy the chunks you like and save them as a new level. Please note: I will be traveling until March 5th and will not be updating this mod or responding to forum or Github messages until then.
Hi! First of all, congrats on an amazing mod, it's just what I needed! Thanks for the continuing support.
Chest saving is acting a bit weird: sometimes it saves them, sometimes it doesn't. Am I correct in assuming that it will only save the contents of a chest as long as I don't unload the chunk the chest is in? That seems to line up with what's been happening, but I can't be sure.
Hi... thank you for continuing this mod... but can you please tell me when the 1.4.7 version of WDL will be up if you know? or does the 1.4.6 one work for MC 1.4.7? I need iit for 1.4,7 soon
Please note: I will be traveling until March 5th and will not be updating this mod or responding to forum or Github messages until then.

No, you didn't install it correctly. Read the previous times in this thread that I've explained the "aux" problem or read any thread for any mod anywhere and you will know the "aux" problem. Let me Google that for you..

It works fine for 1.4.7. There are a couple of bugs I apparently introduced in the latest update but I'll squish those in the next few days and put out a new version anyway.
Having bugs where it gets stuck "Still saving" for an hour or so...
Do you have a slow computer? Are you exploring for a long time during download (large world)? I can't think right off what would cause it to take an hour to save. On a fast computer and walking around for 10 minutes or so it takes 30 seconds to save. Tell me more about how you are using it and maybe I can figure that out. I have not heard that problem before.

Im sure it has something to do with the modpack the server uses.
Where would it save the files too if im on a voxelbox client (no new blocks/items).
EDIT:
Found the save files, but the folder is titled:
WorldDownloaderERROR - WorldDownloaderERROR
any idea how to fix it? Or am i just not going to be able to as it's a modpacked world?
Certainly. The links are all at the top of the thread to older version. There are 1.3.1 and 1.3.2 links but they are for version 1 of World Downloader:
I know there are big red letters saying that it is not ModLoader or Forge compatible.. so then is it impossible to use WDL on a Tekkit server? Will it ever be possible or are you just going to skip it?
If it saves files from the network cache, what part of ML and Forge prevents it from doing that?
It's 2am here on a school night so I'm not at my computer obviously but this is probably the best mod I've ever seen. If I'm on my skyblock and I want to fly around it on my single player world for fun I can do that. Thanks so much for continuing this! I'm definately going to download this tomorrow.
