This is my first post on here but I've been following for a while. Thanks for all the info, it helped me get World Downloader (& LiteLoader) installed properly and working on 1.7.10.
I'm having a problem I can't find addressed or solved anywhere else on the internet. Here's my situation so you'll understand the problem better:
I am part of a vanilla SMP server with some of my friends. I've been recording videos for YouTube of my world while playing on the server, but I have some complex redstone wiring on our server that I want to make tutorial videos for, and since I am not the admin, World Downloader has become my solution. I plan to walk around our entire server and convert it into a creative singleplayer world, so that I will have it on hand to make tutorials (it's much easier to do redstone tutorials in creative, and I won't have to worry about messing anything up on the actual server).
Today I started using it. I saved everything on the overworld, logged out and tested it in singleplayer - everything worked perfectly. Then, I entered the Nether (this is where most of my redstone is). The chat told me that it was stopping the download, saving it, and starting the download again all at once the moment I entered the Nether. I walked around a bit, went back to the overworld, and back again into the Nether (it did the same stopping and starting thing every time). Then, I stopped downloading, logged out and tested it again in singleplayer. I thought this was odd, but everything was still perfectly copied so I knew it was still working. I went back onto the server and continued to move about, entering and exiting the Nether while starting to downloading the world again.
Then, I hit a snag. One time, upon entering the Nether, it didn't stop and start; instead, I got the World loaded message in chat. When I hit escape, the button that usually lets me stop downloading was greyed out and it said "Still saving..." (the "..." options key next to it is greyed out as well). I have logged out and in, moved to different areas, moved between the Nether and the overworld, went afk for a long period of time - nothing works, it's still stuck. I know it's not simply a problem of how long it takes to save things, because I haven't gone very far in the Nether, and earlier today I spent about 5-6 hours walking around the overworld while downloading, and when I hit stop downloading, it only took about 10 seconds to finish saving and create my singleplayer world (very impressive btw!). So I am at a loss as to how to fix this.
Sorry for the long post. I wanted to be detailed and give all of the facts so that someone could hopefully help me more easily. Thanks!

Sometimes WDL might bug out, just restart the game when that happens.

Trying this. Random chunks in the world do not get saved even if I have explorer them and when saving it takes a VERY long time compared to other videos I've seen. (I do have a fairly dated pc so that could be it) Using the 1.7.10a version because the litemod one has infinite saving problem.
Hey, good mod but I have problems. I can't download all maps which I want. I saw good maps but how to download it. I pressed download map and then the mod said download started. 2 hours later I close the server, go check singleplayer and boom here is no world. What is this XD please fix this
Well it's update time again but where are the usual posts demanding Cubic drop everything in his life and update this immediately? This is 1.8 day +1 and the post before mine is 6 days old.

We are waiting for MCP . it's 78 % ready. MCP 1.8 Coming Soon
servers are replacing every block not touching water or air with TNT and Redstone Block along with some other nastiness. Running a map through MC edit with a replace filter could take months to process.
do you think you can add a block check and switch block if a restricted block is found in the data stream before the block save . This is to deal with the anti world downloader.
My idea is to have a filter list of blocks to switch for others blocks and then switch them on the fly. If a server is streaming TNT and Redstone block then WDL would detect this and switch them back to stone ID 1 or some ore

this plugin is making WDL useless
You should open the world in MCEdit and replace TNT/Redstone with stone
Don't put mods in the jar!!! It won't work!
go install liteloader first
Steve look up. 3 flavors , forge , litemod and basemod.
