Durability101
Durability101 adds a color-coded counter that shows the number of hits or uses left on tools and armor in both singleplayer and multiplayer. Unlike many other durability readout mods, Durability101 can be seen from the hotbar without mousing over items and is designed to be super compact.
What makes Durability101 better than the vanilla F3+H show durability feature?
Durability101 can be seen from your hotbar and does not require you to mouse over an item to see its durability.
Durability101 gives a proper durability estimate for tools with the unbreaking enchantment.
Durability101 doesn't require you to push F3+H.
Durability101 looks nicer.
Credit for the original durability readout mod goes to the 1.2.5 UseCount mod by coolblinger which is no longer being updated.
Features
- Counter changes color with the durability bar to provide a better visual representation of the uses left
- Compact durability bar and counter
- Durability readout is visible without having to mouse-over inventory items
- Durability estimate for tools with unbreaking enchantments NEW
- Normal, Large, and Hidden display states; press [H] to toggle. NEW
- Does not require ModLoader or Forge (works on Vanilla clients)
- ModLoader & Forge compatible version

Compatibility
Durability101 overwrites the bhc.class file (RenderItem) which is also used by ModLoader, Forge, and Optifine (as of 1.4.7). If you use ModLoader or Forge, you can download the appropriate compatible version which will fix any conflicts.
Durability101 is compatible with Optifine and Rei's Minimap as of the 1.5 Minecraft release and most other mods. If you find that Durability101 conflicts with another mod, please leave a comment below and I'll try to make a compatible version as soon as I can.
I have been looking to an up to date version of this kind of mod, but it doesn't appear to be working for me.
I am using modloader, and magic launcher with rei's minimap, convenient inventory, and optifine.
When I attempt to load it with magic launcher it says no mods found. (modloader download)
Then I attempted to copy the file directly to the minecraft.jar file, and nothing happened other than causing an error in modloader.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Also attempted the non-modloader version and the same occured.
Hm, I'm not sure what's causing the issue; I did a clean install of the latest versions of ModLoader, Convenient Inventory, Optifine, Rei's Minimap and then Durability101 (in that order) and everything seemed to work. Did you try deleting the META-INF folder yet? If that does not work I recommend downloading the Link Removed and re-installing the other mods.

Yeah, that would be why. The 3D Items compatible version is only for the ModLoader release of 3D Items. I'm working the Forge version of 3D Items right now.

O sorrey if i screwed u up on that. BTW u are one of the nicest mod developers i have talked to.
Looks like a pretty cool mod! By chance does this also support non-vanilla tools? I know pretty much zilch about mod creation, and I didn't see anything about it in the OP, so I had to ask. ^^;

Love it! Thanks for making this mod!
Oops :/ Just fixed it. Thanks for the heads-up!

What other mod(s) are you using? It sounds like another mod is overwriting the same class file that Durability101 uses.
Ok, thanks for letting me know. I should be able to release a compatible version in around 15 minutes.
thank you. you are like a god sort of
thank you
