does it works with extrabiomes xl.
and will it include extra building from thaumcraft and mystcraft.
and is the forge version smp supported.
It does work with extrabiomes XL but does not replace their villages in their biomes. Tell them to customize their own villages.
Yes you will find any custom buildings from thaumcraft, forestry, etc.
As the main topic says, yes, this is smp supported.
seriously how does it seem like a bad idea at all.
they are too busy at mojam
Maybe because the Mojang code for villages only works properly in mostly flat biomes, like plains and deserts, and generates horrendously messed-up villages in the mountains?
Village logic -- making villages in the mountains, or underground -- might make sense.
Fixing the village building generation/layout code so that mountain villages are laid out better -- no more doors into the mountains, roads that can be traversed, etc -- might make sense.
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?
downloaded and villages are spawning in every biome as they should, but they all use the default village buildings (with exception of deserts). have i installed something wrong? thanks in advance!

Odd, are you running the non-forge or forge version? Are you running ExtraBiomesXL? If your running the extrabiomesxl version the new look for villages will only show in default minecraft biomes. Also, did you put my mod in the jar?
Not sure if this is a bug, or intentional - but the forge version of "Medium" seems to have the spawn rate FAR TOO LOW.
I can run across 4 biomes before finding a single village.
This seems to be equal to the default spawn rate, possibly lower.
The extreme version works fine though.
It is really frustrating because to actually get any use out of this mod I am forced to use the extreme version, which of course has a HELL of a lot of villages. I have Mystcraft and severely struggle to find any of mystcraft's villagers - which is the reason I need this mod to work correctly.

Can anyone shed some light on this?
I believe you are having bad luck, or another mod is changing the spawn rate. Also, if your running any mods that add additional biomes or buildings this can effect when/where villages spawn. The code is verified and working as intended.
No.
Nice report by the way, so very informative.

An idea: it would be cool if you add floating villages in the sky biomes
