But once TLUL update his X-Ray, you should use his one instead
Thanks, but the main reason we're here is for mod compatibility. No Optifine and/or Forge compatibility misses the point.
If anyone is desperate for mining / caving assistance that is compatible, and you can run Forge or at least FML, you can try the Finder Compass, but it's definitely not as useful as an xray mod.
i kind of want to ask when will it be out just to get the cape but then again i dont want to be mean lol.
You can have a cape that says "wants to forget how to read".
It quite literally is a few minutes away now, I'm just doing some final testing. I'm really sorry about the delay, but some stuff came up that I really couldn't ignore.
Tested the 1.4.5 prerelease. It still gives me the menu glitches when I use Magic Launcher, and now the in-game functionality refuses to work at all.
If manually installed in 1.4.5, it still gives me a flicker on the Mojang screen, and I get some graphical errors in xray mode: boxy trap doors, half-slabs move to the bottom of the block, etc. Underground lakes aren't visible in xray and cave modes. There's a lot of Z-fighting between things like grass and tall grass when they're semi-transparent.
You know? i actually gave a test to 1.4.4 version of it, but I find it really bugged. More than the fact that it's not optifine compatible, there was at least 2 or 3 other problems. Tested it with modloader (I had it for other mod), liteloader (for macro/keybind mod) and having rei's minimap in mods folder. It works, but not well. Some specific items I just can't enable them to be visible, that includes most ores (except emerald), spider cobwebs and some other stuff, they just were disabled when I put it in, and even enabled I don't see them. Also I'm having constant crashes, but it's not like error crashes, game just randomly closes since I installed it, I play for a while and something, I don't know what, just makes it close, without even giving an error message. It also specially happens if I enter the GUI or inventory with X or C enabled. In other words, or it is incredibily uncompatible with the simple mods I said, or it reallt has a lot of problems.
That last thing didn't happen with other xray mods I tested, only with this one (and the other one was OF compatible too which is a reason I would use it over this one. But I thought you may need the feedback.
Alright, so with the 1.4.4 updated X-ray version my minecraft continues to crash and obviously I don't know why. Below is my crash report I am using a mac Mountain Lion 10.7.5. This mod will not work even when I have taken all other mods off.

This is the same race condition bug I've been struggling with before. It should only be happening on game start, and only occasionally (not consistently like it seems you're getting). I'm still trying to find a good way around it that won't break compatibility with a large set of mods.
If manually installed in 1.4.5, it still gives me a flicker on the Mojang screen, and I get some graphical errors in xray mode: boxy trap doors, half-slabs move to the bottom of the block, etc.
The Mojang flicker is a known bug and I know what's causing it, but it's minor enough (ie. it doesn't affect gameplay) that I'm not going to specifically target it. The boxy trap doors, buttons, levers and the half slabs are also known issues that I'm working on fixing.
Found one issue I would love fixed if you could. When I type in chat on servers I find that it enables the items. That has caused some very confusing issues. If you could fix that I would appreciate it.
Okiedokie I updated to 1.4.5 now and Im still getting an error message. Similar to last time my menu graphics are messed up until I enter and exit a world. Upon entering a world in single player I can only see my item bar of things on hand my cursor and everything else is black. Then it crashes.

Tested the 1.4.5 prerelease. It still gives me the menu glitches when I use Magic Launcher, and now the in-game functionality refuses to work at all.
That's unfortunate, but there's not much I can do about Magic Launcher doing incorrect installations.
^^^ Actually, I installed it manually, and i'm getting the same errors as he is. The xray itself doesn't seem to work at all, and the menu is all glitched up.
Thanks tlul for saving my ass lots of time in the older version but is the 1.4.5 updated version of the xray mod compatible with the updated optifine? if not when would it be release? Note: I am not putting any pressure on you to make it work with optifine, so pls take our time and do a good job.THX

Water isn't an X-ray targeted block by default; I still need to add the toggles over in the bucket section.
I'm aware of the Z-fighting issues with tall grass and I'm looking for a workaround.
Damn, that bug's back? On it.

I am using mc patcher which I have always used with your mod without fail. Appreciate your hard work on this.
