Let's face it, opacity makes your x-ray mod kinda unique, but it's really ruining its performance. There's always a problem with it, and if it wasn't because opacity you probably wouldn't have problems with optifine, like most of the other x-ray mods. Does it really worth it so badly? I'm not completely sure about that.
I installed manually, and joined a server. i was getting around 4-10 fps, and without mods i get 100-80. Idk if it's just this mod or if it's all of them, cause I don't usually mod a lot. After a few seconds, or half a minute, I crash and no crash log appears, so idk if its just me or not :/
hey I have a slight problem, I got blue screen while running with mod with modloader, radarbro, and optifine standard in 1.4.5. The crash report is

any suggestions? thanks
you cant use optifine yet, the maker is making a merge for it sorry : (
Now that CJB has discontinued his mods, Xray being one of them, I'll now be trying out this one in future updates. Though at this point compatibility with optifine and forge is pretty much a necessity nowadays, hope that gets added soon. CJB has also released his source code, there might be some useful information to be gained from his version.

your intentions for this mod is good, but the possible uses are extremely bad. for example, a griefer could find you undergound base and steal your precious diamonds using this mod
Actually, Nodus is the preferred client mod/hack for griefers.
And, This mod looks like it's better than my current X-Ray. The thing that my current X-ray has that this one doesn't is that it shows coordinates in the corner of the screen. I will probably replace my current one with this when you make it Optifine-compatible.

Check whether this modification is compatible with REI's Minimap, which paints the coordinates under the map. They have been compatible in some previous versions iirc, so it's worth checking out If they are incompatible, there is always the F3-debug screen option

At this point, the only problem with Optifine is one that any X-Ray would face, it's just a little bit more complicated to work around in this case. I realize that opacity does incur quite a performance hit, which is something I'm hoping Optifine will help to mitigate (as I've said before, the performance hit is very minimal to begin with on my computer). At some point in the future (probably over Christmas break when my exams are done) I'll look into making a "light" version of this mod that's stripped down to the bare essentials for performance and compatibility reasons.

I think Nodus is quite overrated - its useful feature set is no better than can be obtained from a small set of existing mods. I think its main appeal to the script kiddies is the GUI which seems to be impressive-looking enough, but rather unwieldy for practical use. But then again, I'm not a griefer, so I wouldn't really know.

Yes, REI's minimap (which is a great mod, by the way) should be compatible with this mod, and if not's an easy merge. As for including coordinate display in this mod, I believe I've said before that I'd like to constrain the scope a bit more (this isn't a general utility mod, it's specifically an X-Ray).
Edit: Sorry for double post, I was relying on the auto-merge but apparently it has a five minute limit (or less).

Ingame Info and What's My Light Level also offer on-screen coordinates, along with many other things.
Edit: Man, CJB and Zombe for Forge are both toast now? Good thing I've found substitutes for the modules I used.

They are? Wow, now that there's few (if any?) alternatives I really need to step up my game on the Forge support. Also, now that I'm past the worst of my finals, I should have plenty of time over the next month to work on it.
Tulu, you have the best X-ray mod out there. sadly I canot get it to work. I run 1.4.5 on a mac with TooManyItems. when i open minecraft the mojang logo shrinks. when i click on single player, multiplayer, or texture packs the main menu background freezes and the world names, server names, texture pack names apperar over the frozen main menu background. Non of the comands or keys work in game so nothing tends to work. Can you help?

Are you using Magic Launcher, by any chance? There's currently an incompatibility somewhere with it that has those exact effects.
does anyone know a good substitute xray mod i can use , one that will not lag me out. I want to use a substitute until TLUL is finished with his. I tried use the preview ones of TLUL but without optifine it laggs me bad

Its the Source for the now Discontinued CJBMods i think you could use the Xray from this mod
