Update #1
Code is decompiled! Nice to get my hands over SDK's creation again. Aside from splitting all the textures, this shouldn't be TOO bad...but I can't promise anything. Hopefully I can get a non-broken build out by the end of the month.

There are no extra pieces in the universe. Everyone is here because he or she has a place to fill, and every piece must fit itself into the big jigsaw puzzle.

Update #2
Down to 16 compile errors, refactored almost all the code, and set up tick and GUI handlers. Lots of things are going to be broken at first due to the great client/server overhaul of 1.3.2, but I'm hoping I can whip this out in the next week. As soon as it successfully runs in Eclipse I'll upload all this code to GitHub

Update #3
Gotten a ton done! No compile errors, got all textures (other than armor) working fine, guns fire, grenades explode, packets work, etc. Just a few more things to do, primarily getting bullets and armor to render properly. Oh, grappling hooks are also completely broken atm. I'll post a GitHub link on the next update, considering you haven't already found it.
Cheers!

im really glad your back, and i was wrong about the mod its not dead, its about to be more alive then ever! happy you didnt give up on us good luck and i hope everything goes smooth!
Anyway...time for Update #4!
Found and fixed a ton of bugs and implemented a more efficient communications system between server and client. Armor renders fine now, and jetpacks, nightvision, scuba tanks, and ghillie armor works like a charm. Shooting is much more refined, feels more realistic and cooperates better with fire rates. Got ATVs semi-working, just need to get them to send location data to server and render guns properly. Grappling hooks now function, but have no textures. Flamethrower, laser, and rocket launcher bullets are rendering, but the rest are not. Everything else is working though as far as I can see! Sentries look amazing
I promised you all a Github link this update, so I added it below. If you're willing to help, feel free to clone the repo to your computer, test it, and give me feedback. I'd also appreciate pull requests if we have any coders here!
Note that this isn't even an alpha stage, and therefore I'm not going to give out a download link. I'm hoping I can do this by the end of next week, though!

I haven't compiled a build yet off of github, but what have you changed, if anything, from SDK's mods proper?
Lots of things have been removed (spawners, nuke, grinder, oil, cannon) due to other mods now providing identical content. However, I've also improved performance on pretty much all aspects of the mod, and it will run much more smoothly than it did before (once it's stable of course). You can take a look at the list of new features on the main forum post!

Update #5
Fixed all sounds today, fixed a ton of render bugs, improved gun shooting mechanics, and got all bullets to render! The last few things to do are fixing grappling hook and ATV rendering, as well as setting up client/server ATV synchronizing. Hopefully I can get at least one of these things down tomorrow!

Update #6
Grappling hooks now render and work properly after a lot of work! Not only this, but guns now also render equipped in ATVs, and in 3D thanks to the fancy MC renderer. Lots of other things are also running smoothly now, the last step before a beta release is to get the ATV working!

wait... you continued sdk's gun mod!? AWESOME!! is it 1.6.4, I think it is!
Well, he's working on a 1.6.x version (progress seen here: github.com/aidancbrady/ModernWarfare), but it's not quite ready yet. However you can still download the code and compile a 1.6.x version yourself with a little know-how.
Will there be a 1.6.2, 1.6.4 and 1.7.2 (when forge is released, which has been hard because mojang is trying to get rid of the modders)
Mojang has NOT been trying to "get rid" of the modders. More like they've been welcoming them with open arms, since the work on the plugins API has been going well, and mods will soon become plugins, which can be added much quicker and won't edit the jar at all. Hopefully, even Forge will become its own plugin and then it won't fight with OF. Better framerate too since the render system is getting a total overhaul.
Brady, keep up the good work. I remember this mod back in the old beta days. Good times...good times...
Standard answer: One week after the last person asks for an update
Seriously, he's pretty much re-writing the whole mod from scratch. Be grateful someone is resurrecting it, since it was one of the better gun mods out there (and my personally preferred one). Want it to update faster? Head to the github and help.
I'm glad to see this getting back up on it's feet, this should keep the 'UPDATE NAO!' spammers away from SDK's thread AND make everyone happy (including me, I cannot find a good gun mod lately), I just have one request: Would it be possible to have 3D gun models when the guns are held?
dude seriously ur awesome for updating this mod ive been wanting to try out this mod for a while and someone is finally doing it i seriously cant wait till it comes out for 1.6.4 seriously bro ur awesome :]
