Yay! Roboboy is back in business!!
Also Mion, that's a great idea, I'll try that! ^^
Need some new help, though. One of my players is still having trouble... and I believe she just tried to use the new installer, but it didn't work (she's not very expressive, so won't give much details other than half-sentencees, lol). She is sitll able to log onto our server, but crashes almost immediately afterwards 8 times out of 10. XD
But anyway, she posted up this crash report, maybe you can extrapolate something from it....

Yay, you're here! ^^
[but still using using those half sentences TvT ]
Some additional information you can provide to Mion and Tarig would be what installation types you tried using, the machine you're running them on, and any mods you're trying to install other than gulliver. ^^
Okay, Well lets start.
1: The machine, a dell PC, Windows IDK, laptop so not really a gaming pc but it is really good for gaming. You can find the windows version in the report under system details, i think its windows 8
2: The Mods (forge) Rei's mini map, and TabbyChat (and Gulliver's but i think you knew that)
3 Installation type: The auto installer

Based on that error log, the crash is happening in the TabbyChat mod, so removing "1.6.2_TabbyChat.zip" from the "mods" folder may fix it. Do you require it for the server, Cia? I know you use it as an example ModLoader-type mod in the install guide, but some ML mods have problems when run with Forge.
Anyway, let me know if that works. (And I associate full sentences with online postings that stick around and don't have 140-character limits, as opposed to in chatrooms or MP servers; but then I consider emoticons to be valid end-of-sentence punctuation, so make of that what you will :P)
Well we don't require it per se, but it is highly recommended to have given we don't have any chat plugins. Without it, conversations get very chaotic. ^^;
Installer doesn't work for some reason, even though it says it does. Am I supposed to be using my normal forge I use for other mods, or is there a different process?
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
"If you can't fix something with duct tape, you need more duct tape."
Hi. The latest Gulliver is built to a specific version of Forge, so chances are you may need to install that one before you can run this mod. Please try and see if my guide works for you, as I'm trying to gauge how helpful it is for people.

Hello. No, you will need to use Forge 9.10.1.871, as the latest Gulliver is built against it. So you might want to install it first before running Mion's installer. ^^
As for your semi-installer set up, we've had two or three individuals who had the same issue, and turned out that they did not (or could not, depending on their os) rename it to JAR from the original ZIP file. Seeing as that's the common pitfall, you might want to check that out.
Or simply jettison the whole process,and start over with the auto-installer, which requires no renaming or JVM editing.
Well we don't require it per se, but it is highly recommended to have given we don't have any chat plugins. Without it, conversations get very chaotic. ^^;
Okay, we're officially doomed.
Actually, looking at the TabbyChat thread, its install instructions involve putting it as a jar under "libraries" much like the old manual instructions for Gulliver Forged 0.14.1. But the crash report indicated that the TabbyChat was in a zip file, not a jar; so, well, I'm really not sure what the deal is with Audrey's Minecraft setup ^_^;; If possible, I would like to see the log in the launcher's "Development Console" tab from when the crash happens.
EDIT: I haven't tried installing the TabbyChat yet, so I'm not sure I understand how to do it correctly

Hi Mion. ^^
Excuse me while I go pick up my heart, as it tried skipping a beat... XD
But yes, I drained pale white when I read that, thinking perhaps I had screwed up beyond belief and made everyone on my server "do it wrong". It is still a possibility (I have been known for legendary stupidity ), but in rereading the developer's instructions, I was reassured by the fact that the library installation method is for the Standalone version only. For use in Forge, Modloader and LiteLoader, the standard method for those APIs works just fine (in the case of Forge, inside minecraft/mods). ^^
So at least in that respect we're safe... that's not to say I won't try to find a better solution in the future, as getting everyone to install a non-mandatory secondary mod, no matter how easy, has been like herding ocelots. Server-side plugins are generally the best way to go, although are options for those in a Forge-only environment are still VERY limited (and buggy). ^^:
As for Audrey, we'll see what we can do tomorrow. Most of my players have just recently migrated over from the old launcher (after it had stopped working two or so weeks ago) and have also been avid-users of Magic Launcher, so my suspicions lie there. But without actually seeing their screen, I'm kind of just shooting in the dark in some cases.
lol, well "I" don't plan on releasing anything (other than installation guides for my server world).
"UncleMion", on the other hand, may upgrade the mod to 1.6.4 over time, but there's currently no timeframe for it that I'm aware of. And considering how similiar 1.6.2 is to 1.6.4, it's not something I personally would see a rush for. ^^;

Gah. I need to stop giving you heart attacks over install processes >_<
I'm still not entirely sure how TabbyChat can go in the regular "mods" folder with Forge, since it doesn't appear to act as a Forge coremod; but if it's been working fine for people, that's cool.
Right now my holy grail is an installer for the ML version, and/or making a custom Tweaker so that ModLoader etc. won't have to be stuffed into the main Minecraft jar for a version.

MC 1.6.4 is similar to 1.6.2, but it'll be more complicated to update Gulliver since I need to make it ModLoader-less, and the Forged version has new Forge thingies to account for (especially related to Little Blocks.) Still, players will need to use 1.6.4 before they use 1.7 because 1.6.4 changes the format of the world files, something about 1.6.2 worlds not converting Strongholds and such properly when opened in 1.7 otherwise. So, yeah.
Also Mion, that's a great idea, I'll try that! ^^

[but still using using those half sentences TvT ]
Some additional information you can provide to Mion and Tarig would be what installation types you tried using, the machine you're running them on, and any mods you're trying to install other than gulliver. ^^

1: The machine, a dell PC, Windows IDK, laptop so not really a gaming pc but it is really good for gaming. You can find the windows version in the report under system details, i think its windows 8
2: The Mods (forge) Rei's mini map, and TabbyChat (and Gulliver's but i think you knew that)
3 Installation type: The auto installer
k i dun takin goodly butt newt lik dis cuz dis gramar flz iz annoyng
(i associate full sentences with homework or apps)But, if i need to say more i will
Thank you Audrey! [and that was funny] ^^
Just so I know since you followed the auto-installer method last, you...
a ) reinstalled vanilla Forge, just in case
and
b ) switched the profile in the launcher to the new one created by Mion?
Those are the only two pitfalls I can think of -- other than that, it's up to the experts. ^^

Well we don't require it per se, but it is highly recommended to have given we don't have any chat plugins. Without it, conversations get very chaotic. ^^;
Okay, we're officially doomed.

Not that that's anything to celebrate, but I wonder if that means she'll be back with even more details... >.>
Also will try walking her through a clean wipe of old cfg files, including the Tabby ones as they're probably set to the old modloader version.

I followed these instructions exactly how you gave them and at the end my files were in the right place but minecraft would not start up.
Hello. No, you will need to use Forge 9.10.1.871, as the latest Gulliver is built against it. So you might want to install it first before running Mion's installer. ^^
Well technically-speaking, she did... it's just in the posts...

Yes it does, i have them on my server as well.
Lol, you're late for the party, Mion released the full installer if you want to take a look at that.
Here's my install guide for that version...
https://www.dropbox.com/s/958pdolca8sqo55/Gulliver162Installation_ForgeAutoInstaller.pdf

"UncleMion", on the other hand, may upgrade the mod to 1.6.4 over time, but there's currently no timeframe for it that I'm aware of. And considering how similiar 1.6.2 is to 1.6.4, it's not something I personally would see a rush for. ^^;
Retired owner of the Big Sister Minecraft Server:

So, yeah.
Oh? All right then.
