JennyLeeP, what do you use for Extrabiomes textures that matches B.O.S?
I have not found anything that I like yet. I am not sure if Bill has plans for adding your mod to his pack. I know he is very busy and the level of he detail he does takes some time to do.
I may just add it to my list of to do's and add it into my OzBillo support texture pack.(Fan created section of Battered Old Stuff)
Lots to do but I really want to tackle this one.

as anyone noticed the vanilla ice plains biome, or whatever its called, shows up even without any vanilla biome being on? It's been like that for a few versions. Hope you can fix that.
Also, could it be possible to add a true/false option for river and ocean biomes?

I got a group of casual friends who play minecraft, Vanilla version, because anything more than clicking an .exe is too complicated for some of them.
Anyway I run a vanilla server and I would really love to show them the world of ExtraBiomesXL. Your directions above will help me setup the server(you left out forge directions for the server is that because I don't need to do that? Also it looks like on their client side they just got to go to .minecraft directory and find the mod folder (or make it) and drop the ExtraBiomesXL.zip in there and they are set. BUT, I see that this mod requires forge. Does it require forge if this is the ONLY mod they will have running, because if so then I will have to run about 20 people through a minecraft.jar modification and that will melt some of their brains...
I was thinking of giving them a minecraft.jar I modified myself with forge so all they got to do is drop into their folder and overwrite. Any help and advice would be great! Thanks for the work on this great mod!
Yes, it requires forge on the client.
I would suggest having them install MultiMC. and then zipping up everything in the MultiMC instance but the minecraft jars. then, it should work to unzip the zip file into the MultiMC instances directory and run the instance (MultiMC downloads vanilla jars using their passwords and installs forge into the jar)

Since I added ExtraBiomesXL, there hasn't been any creatures from Mo'Creatures Spawning.... is there some sort of spawn limits that I'd have to ask those guys about or is there some form of compatibility issue that's on your side?
Other than that, absolutely amazing mod! Been looking for a glacier to live in because it looks freaking awesome
EDIT: As well... can you change the redwood/pine trees so that there's a column of wood so that you can make the leaves dissipate and make it much nicer to harvest??

could you make rivers a little bit... more of a river? i mean with highter level of water on the land, not only set up at level 63 as ocean and else, also, i think it might be a good thing to include waterfall and lakes in mountainous redwood forest to give the feeling of canadian's forest...
by the way, it would be apreciate if there would be more recipe for the new blocks such as cracked sand, mud and red rock. i definitively think this is a good mod and i encourage you keeping going on this way. you makes us the best of modding capacity as minecraft advances on it'S route of infinitely long updates.

Dr. Zhark is implementing ExtraBiomes XL support in the next version of his mod. If you have Mo' Creatures configured to handle the spawning of vanilla mobs, it clears out all of the vanilla spawns and only adds them back to vanilla biomes.

Sodisna, that mod is not compatible with forge as it overwrites base classes that forge edits. This may not be evident until you use a mod that needs those base classes...

However, I have good news. I have been working on a way that this mod can substitute its own terrain gen and retain compatibility. The change is currently waiting to be merged into Forge ModLoader. Once this is completed, it paves the way for Extrabiomes v. 3 which will include many new features and this is something we hope to address.
I am having an interesting bug that is hard to document so you will have to take my word for it. But every single EBXL generated tree only has a trunk which extends to the base of the leaves. so essentially the EBXL trees are currently a 2-3 log high log pillar with a blob of leaves ontop.
Obviously thats a bit different for redwoods. which have a very tall trunk with a very tall green blob of leaves on top.
Not only that. But if you remove the logs from the "tree" then the leaf blob will not decay.

Heads up. Just downloaded and installed 2.2.2 several times (including clearing associated config files) doesn't appear to generate config files or well... do anything at all. Yet game runs fine and doesn't throw errors.

Every biome that can be disabled currently has a config file directive.
Go ahead and post them and lets see what people think...we don't currently have any plans for new biomes...but you never know.
