Suggestion 2: update Java, you should be running 1.7 at a minimum.
I don't think that there's any problem with Java 6 at the moment, it's all that Minecraft requires, and most mods only require it. The default Eclipse compilation environment uses J6 to compile.
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?

I've seen a bunch of problems with Java 6 with NEI I think it is. One of the mods requires Java 7 but I forget which one.
Hi Annysia I found something you could mabey add if you end up doing vines. It's called Bignonia Caperolata or "cross-vine".It has red and yellow flowers and has almost no leaves till the top of the vine. If I can figure out how to post images I'll post some.
is there a way to disable the cactus-> cactus paste recipe, but leave the 4 tiny cactus-> cactus paste recipe?
i play with natura which adds a shaped/shapeless cactus -> cactus juice recipe and your cactus paste will not allow me to get it, and i do not wish to cheat it in. thanks in advance for help.

You can also try No More Recipe Conflict, ported by Gotolink.

We added a vine several versions ago that is red and yellow as a test. We will be making some adjustments to it as well as adding more types.

Thank you for the advice, but it's quite a pain changing every biome to allow Mo' Creatures animals, plus the penguins and chocobos.
It may take a bit initially, but it's very easy to do and I like being able to decide where mobs spawn since it will let you virtually control every mob added, be it from vanilla or a mod. The animals will still spawn even if you don't use it, I just recommend it as there are usually some spawning issues with Mo Creatures, even in vanilla biomes.
Can't wait to be re-united with ExtraBiomes XL again in 1.7.2 - It's one of those mods I dearly miss at this point. Keep on being awesome, Annysia and the rest of the team.
Is there any plans to change the nether biome? Vanilla is plain and boring, you know... )
I hope so as FN adds"-Nether Ash and Blaze trees can be found.... in the Nether >.> there's also a new mushroom there.
Nether trees grow towards light."
So today I went to build a house...and apparently I can't turn redwood logs into redwood planks (harvested half a forest before finding out naturally). Double checked in creative mode and have the same problem. The planks exist, but the recipe to turn the logs into planks seems to be missing entirely. I'm using the current version of EBXL.

Oh yes, main reason why I still not updated to 1.7 Love this mod Yours too by the way, 10paktimbits
Thank you guys for your kind words and support. (PMP is one of my must have mods too. You've done an awesome job with it, 10paktimbits) We are working on the 1.7 version and hope to have it out sometime soon. We had a team member have some personal stuff come up and Scott isn't back yet so we are down to just one coder for right now. (If any experienced coders are interested in joining the team PM me!)

While personally I hate the nether (all the red and black hurts my eyes, plus it's very ugly...lol), we probably will be adding some things to the nether when we get to the Fantasy biome add-on. MTJT and FN both had some Nether trees and maybe we could make the Nether look better in general.

You have to turn them into quarter logs first before you can turn them into planks. This is a known issue and a fix has already been made for it and will be in the update we will be releasing for 1.6.4 that is in the final testing stages. Thanks for reporting it though. =)
Sorry for the slow replies. I've been busy the past few days and gone most of today, since it was Mother's Day.
Some blue vines should give the neather some contrast, while keeping the supposed burning flesh look, and maybe a few ribcage like shruberies, or some eyes might do the trick. Just some suggestions, afterall it is your mod not mine.
No apologies needed for anything, I say - take your time, guys.
Anyway, hope you've had and will keep on having a nice Mother's Day.
I had an awesome Mother's day. We went to my mom's for lunch and then my sons (both of them are adults) drove me around the area so we could play Ingress (awesome game) We were going to go storm chasing (my oldest son does that) but the storms were several hours a way in another state. I know...a weird way to spend Mother's day, but it's what I wanted to do...lol.

Blue glowing vines sound cool...they other sounds creepy...lol. I will probably need to let the people on the team that actually like the Nether come up with ideas for it...because my ideas would make it look like the over world.
Oh, storm chasing -- I've always been a bit jealous of you americans what with your huge thunderstorms and whatnot (though maybe less so when it comes to hurricanes.). They (thunderstorms) don't get quite that intense in ol' Sweden. Nothing quite beats pulling up a chair and just watching the fireworks, so to speak.
I love watching a storm...but tornado's do so much damage. We live in the area of the states called "Tornado Alley". It is called that because of the high number of tornado's that spawn in the region.
Ah, yes, it's tornados and not hurricanes in the US - I always mix 'em up. I've watched a silly amount of documentaries on the matter as natural forces just intrigue me... but yeah, when it comes to Tornados I'm kind of happy we don't really have those.
A heavy, intense thunderstorm however. Oh boy.
Oh, we have hurricanes as well...but those are in coastal areas. The tornados are all over land. =)

We are looking into this.
Yes, they do. I also recommend using Mob Spawn Controls as it supports our biomes.

I second that!
